AHHHHHH HIII!

*cricket cricket*

...so, I've been gone for a very (very very very very very) long time...I think my last update was almost a year ago? Or maybe more?

Gods, I wasn't supposed to be away for THIS long, but it was hectic with last year of high school and then the whole first year of university process. Then there was the whole HoH issue with Jasper and stuff, and I guess I lost a bit a inspiration? I'm not sure what happened, but I didn't feel like writing. However, I never stopped obsessing over Jayna, though it just didn't transfer into fanfiction.

So what made me start writing again? Well, I was just bored, mindlessly scrolling through random sites, and then I clicked on fanfiction, and then read some Percy Jackson fanfictions, and then clicked on my own fanfictions, and then cried in disbelief that I wrote 28 fanfictions on purely Percy Jackson (though it really isn't that many), and then felt a nudge in my heart to start writing again. But with no inspiration and all my ideas back home (studying out of town!), I just stared at a blank document until I listened to Sad Beautiful Tragic by Taylor Swift and BAM JAYNA FEELS.

I'm gonna shut up now because this getting longer than the actual thing but it's a variation of the moment in (I think) SoN when Camp Jupiter is waiting for the arrival of the Greeks.

Enjoy!

Wise People Once Told Me

"You always touch that necklace when you're anxious or nervous," Percy observed, glancing over at the dark-haired girl standing beside him.

The girl unwrapped her fingers from the pendant, glaring over at her companion. "I am not anxious or nervous, Jackson," she replied stiffly, straightening her back.

Percy tilted his head to the side. "We might only know each other for not very long, but give me some credit; I do know some of your habits."

She raised an eyebrow. "You've been observing me," Reyna stated, as though she had known already.

"I'm not creepy, I swear on the River Styx!" Percy cried up, throwing his hands in the air. "My brain just happens to be useful in useless situations!"

Reyna cracked a small smile as she watched his eyes widen in panic. "I never said you were creepy, Jackson," she answered, smoothing out her toga. "I was only stating a fact."

He narrowed his eyes playfully at her. "I'm a lost Greek demigod trying to live with a bunch of scary Roman demigods; can't you be a little bit nicer to me?!"

The female praetor shrugged. "I was never expected to be nice, even when it was just Hylla and me." Reyna looked over at him, scanning his sea-green eyes. Her posture relaxed slightly. "But I trust you."

Percy grinned. "See, you and I are living proof that Greeks and Romans can work together!"

Unconsciously, Reyna's left hand reached for her neck and her fingers wrapped around the pendant. "Don't make me regret it," she warned him.

The Greek looked her in the eye. "Reyna, I consider Camp Jupiter my home now as well, and I will do whatever I can to help you protect and defend it." When she nodded, a smile appeared on his lips. "Rey, you're doing it again," Percy pointed out, gesturing towards the necklace.

Looking down, she immediately reclined her hand.

"Is it Jason?" he asked softly, eyeing at the Romans standing about fifty meters away from them. Percy had always been uneasy about the subject of Jason Grace, the former praetor of Camp Jupiter, and he noticed that Reyna would get a hard look in her eyes whenever he mentioned her name in front of the other Romans.

This time, Reyna could feel her hand instinctively reach for the necklace, and she controlled herself, breathing in and out slowly as her heart regained a normal beating pace. "I have a lot on my mind," was her simple response as she continued to gaze at the sky. "I am almost sure that he will be with your camp, seeing as Juno apparently switched the two of you but," she paused, her eyes becoming slightly glassy-looking, "I don't want to hope for too much."

Percy didn't speak for a while, unsure as to how to deal with the girl beside him. He could see she was trying to maintain her composure, but Percy saw a spark in her eyes that he never thought she had. "Eight months with next to no information about him, yet you waited for him to come back. I heard you didn't let anyone take his spot or pronounce him dead," the dark-haired boy said, his eyes looking into the distance. "I wonder if I meant that much to this Annabeth girl."

A bittersweet smile graced Reyna's lips. "I bet she's on that ship, looking down just like how we're looking up, waiting for you to come home."

It's been a while since I've read the books, so everything and everyone's a little hazy in my mind. But I just wanted to take advantage of this little spark that my brain actually let me have. But feel free to point out any errors I've made!

As for my other stories, there will be updates around the end of December when I go back home and look over my old ideas, especially wiwth The Lost Praetor, The Greco-Roman Alliance, and the series(maybe plural?) about Jason. For further info, go to my profile! Please read and review!
