"How about Marauders?"
I don't own Harry Potter.
Four third years were sitting huddled by the fire very late on a Monday night, sometime in April. A young Remus Lupin was reading a book, occasionally joining in the conversation; Peter Pettigrew was roasting marshmallows in the flames while James Potter and teen heartthrob Sirius Black were sitting with their heads bent together. It was around half past 11, and most people had gone to bed, but a certain feisty red head was disgruntled by the male teens. She snapped her book shut and stalked over to the group.
"Excuse me, but what do you think you're doing?" Lily Evans demanded. All four boys looked up with different responses. James' hand immediately flew up to his light brown locks and messed it up quickly, Sirius quirked an eyebrow and crossed his arms, Peter splashed marshmallow on the carpet and licked it off and Remus didn't even look up until James' responded.
"Why hello there Lily flower," Potter said, a grin forming on his face. "Why, we are simply enjoying some warmth and discussing our plan for tonight, yourself?"
Sirius laughed quietly and Remus finally looked up and smiled warmly.
"Hello Lily." He said quietly.
"Remus," she nodded. Remus was the only one out of the four who she didn't hate. Peter was plain annoying, Sirius was a stupid twat and James was just… James. "I mean, you're obviously up to something."
"That hurt, Evans." Said Sirius, placing a hand on his heart. "Are we not simply allowed to talk anymore, even about homework?!"
Lily laughed sarcastically. "Okay."
"C'mon Lily, just leave us, why so interested anyways?" James smirked. Lily glared at him, again.
"I hate knowing you're discussing something bad, because you always end up losing loads of points for Gryffindor, plus the fact you look like right dunderheads! All four of you are completely motivated to do bad for us and it makes us look so silly next to the other houses! If you even THINK of marauding around tonight then you won't wake up tomorrow!" she exploded, and ran up the girls dorm stairs, slamming the door behind her.
"Wow, looks like Evans has mega PMS," Sirius said, snickering. He looked at Remus, for usually he laughed at these stupid jokes, but the werewolf had a vacant look on his matured face. "Mooooooony?"
"Hey guys," Remus said, smiling. "You know we've been looking for a name for ourselves, to sign pranks off with?"
"Yeah?" Peter said, getting excited. Again, he was licking marshmallows off his arm. James turned to look at Remus, Sirius grinned.
"As Lily said, we are marauding. A lot, right?"
"Get to it Moony!" whined Sirius.
"Marauding. We could be something like that? The Marauding something?"
"Good idea Moony, but The Marauding blows…" said James, thoughtful. "Maybe Maraudhims?"
"Maraudhims?" laughed Sirius.
"How about Marauders? Peter suggested. The others all looked at him then James tackle hugged him.
"Brilliant!"
"Thanks Prongs," Peter said, blushing slightly. Remus smiled and Sirius hugged Remus.
"Remy! I feel unloved!" he whined again. Remus patting Sirius's head bashfully and smirked.
"It's okay Sirie, I love you."
"YAAAAAY!" Sirius grinned and yawned.
"We should go to bed now." Said Remus, gathering his books and standing up.
"Party pooper!" shouted James accusingly, but followed Remus up the staircase.
The four boys will now not be known as 'The four pranksters', they will be known as the Marauders.
Hope you enjoyed:')
