I apologize for such a long wait for the next chapter of this story. Life has been hectic and it has been some time since I have even watched Ouran Highschool Host Club. Hopefully, the updates will come a little faster, but I cannot promise anything.
Much love, Ookami.
The beeping of the heart machine was the only sound in the hospital room. Young Sicily Morinozuka was unresponsive laying in the hospital bed, an IV in her left arm. Her brother Takashi sat by the bed near the window now that school was over for the day and waited for Dr. Akito Ootori, Kyoya's brother, to come back with results of the blood test. Out in the hall Takashi could hear Tamaki pacing and complaining loudly about how Host Club had been cancelled for the second day because of Sicily being hospitalized. Since their parents had gone out of town with Satoshi for a Kendo Competition, Takashi stayed by her side as much as he could.
"Dr. Ootori, do you know what is wrong with Sici?" Mitsukuni demanded and Takashi got to his feet as Dr. Ootori came into the hospital room and the Host Club remained near the door.
"I called Yuuichi up as the tests were running to let him know what happened. Turns out that the medicine he had prescribed, just had adverse effects. Her blood pressure had suddenly dropped, that is why she collapsed the other day. We flushed all medicine from her system and she seems to be responding rather well with no medicine in her body considering how long she's been sick and taking medicines. She'll be alright."
"When will she wake up?" Kaoru and Hikaru asked at the same time.
"She should wake up some time today. It is a draining process to flush one's body of medicines."
"That's a relief," Tamaki sighed.
"I'm sorry that father didn't answer your call Kyoya."
"Well it was fortunate that you were here today," Kyoya spoke as he adjusted his glasses.
"I already have her discharge papers ready to go but I have a meeting, so I need to be going."
"It seems odd that her body is responding better to no medicine with in it after her being sick for so long," Tamaki muttered as the host club entered the room and closed the door so the noise from the hallway was silenced.
"It is very possible that her body has just been able to completely fight off her sickness," Kyoya spoke as he typed away at his computer. "We will have to make up for missing two host club sessions though."
"Do you really care more about the host club than someone who is sick?" Haruhi snapped as she sat on the opposite side of the hospital bed from Takashi who sat holding her hand. "Honestly."
"We will lose customers and revenue if we do not make up for missing today. Besides, her body is getting better, what is there to worry about now?"
"Don't be so mean Kyoya," Honey frowned as he sat on the edge of the bed hospital bed hugging Usa-chan. "Sici is resting so if you aren't going to be nice, you can leave."
"It's okay… Honey…" a small cough drew everyone to the bed where Sicily was opening her eyes. "Ootoris are all business. I am not offended."
"Sicily," Takashi spoke, concerned.
"I feel okay. Did the doctors figure anything out?"
"Your body just had an adverse reaction to the latest medicine prescribed. They flushed your body of the medicine and you seem to be reacting better having no medicine in your body than your body has for a long time," Kyoya answered first.
"You are getting much better on your own, isn't that great Sici?" Honey smiled.
"That's relieving," Sicily smiled as she made the bed sit up so she could look around. "I really do hate hospitals."
"Your nurse should be coming in soon, we'll be able to get you out of here," Takashi spoke and Sicily patted his hand.
"Guess we'll be on our way since you are okay," Hikaru and Kaoru spoke together before leaving and Kyoya followed them out.
"Maybe we can plan a trip to Okinawa again to make up for revenue," Tamaki spoke as he followed Kyoya.
"That sounds good," Kyoya spoke with a smirk.
"We'll see you tomorrow!" Honey smiled and waved at them as they left.
"They really are heartless," Haruhi huffed.
"Most men do not have good bedside manners," Sicily smiled as she touched Haruhi's arm. "Takashi and Mitsukuni have been here many times before with me when our parents were out of town. When you're sick as much as I have been most of my life, it's pretty common to run into those who do not know how to act around someone who is lying in a bed plugged up to tubes and wires."
"That sounds so depressing."
"Well if the doctor said my body is getting better on its own it won't be like this for too much longer."
"Oh, you're awake," a nurse entered. "Dr. Ootori already sighed the discharge papers so let me unhook these machines then you can be on your way Miss Morinozuka."
"Is it really that easy for you to walk out?" Haruhi asked surprised.
"For me yeah. Usually it's a fluid flush when I'm brought to the hospital so it's no big deal."
"Dr. Ootori has discontinued all medications you have been taking. Both Akito and Yuuichi would like to see how you do with no medication for now to see how well you have progressed. We already notified the Morinozuka staff and they brought all your medicine in to be destroyed, if you have any problems within the next few days, just contact your doctor or come back in."
"Thanks," Sicily smiled as the nurse pulled the IV out of her arm and bandaged the junction of her arm before removing the rest of the wires. "At least you guys have remembered to not cut my clothes off this time."
"We are capable of remembering procedure with those that come regularly, Miss Morinozuka," the nurse spoke calmly. "Here is your paper work and you can leave when you are ready."
"Are you strong enough to walk on your own? After all, you have been here two days," Haruhi frowned and Sicily smiled as she scooted to the edge of the bed and slid off slowly while keeping a grip on Haruhi's outstretched hand. Honey helped her slide her feet into her boots before running ahead to the open door and waited patiently. "How often do you have to come to do a system flush?"
"Every couple months when they decide to try changing my medicine. I'm pretty used to this routine."
"That's not right."
"There is only so much we can really do, but at least there is some improvement."
"I guess," Haruhi frowned as Sicily held onto her arm to keep herself stable.
