He takes his hand and slowly intertwines it with her fingers. She looks up, surprised, but doesn't hesitate and let's the feeling of them holding hands soak in. She's never experienced such happiness with someone unexpected before. It filled her with warmth; an excited feeling. She'd known him for at least a year, but never thought something like this would happen. Her bright green eyes match in focus with his baby blues and they're both smiling. His grin grows wide and he cautiously sits closer to her on the bench. He looks at her, asking with his eyes if it's okay. She nods her head quickly, giggling quietly. She can smell the cologne wafting off of his grey hoodie and she blushes dark rouge.

With the free hand she still has, she takes a scoop of the vanilla ice cream he bought for the both of them and gestures him to open his mouth. He does as he's told and laughs at the cold ice cream touching the insides of his cheeks and tongue. He nods his head as a thank you and they both begin to laugh. She wipes a bit of ice cream off his cheek with a napkin, soaking up the vanilla dribble left around his mouth. He thanks her once more with another nod and grins. His ice cream is melting in his bowl, just sitting there in the blazing sun.

After a while, both the blond headed man and redheaded woman are silent. Both are staring at the sky, still intertwined by fingers. He feels his own cheeks beginning to burn. Not from heat, but from happiness. He imagined getting to hold her hand a thousand times in his dreams, but never her accepting it. The dream would soon end before she ever got to respond. If this was another one of his dreams, he never wanted it to end. He wanted to immortalize this very moment with his freeze ray; It was perfect.

Yay for fluff, right? I got this idea in my head, and I just had to write it. :) This story is more of 'What if?' kind of thing, ya know? What if Billy had mustered the courage to ask Penny out?
