Axel woke up with a start. What was today? He looked at the clock on his nightstand that told his it was Tuesday. Bummer. More work.

"Bleh. Maybe I can get Saix to let me off easy today," he said to himself. That had become a habit, talking to himself when he was alone. Axel lazily rolled off his bed and dragged himself to the Grey Area where Saix was waiting for him.

"You're up on time today," he said. "Good. You have a mission with Zexion toda-"

"Nooo! Not shorty!" Axel got so annoyed by the little nerd! All he did was read!

"Ahem, I'm right here, Eight." Axel looked down and saw Zexion by his side. Well, once they left he was going to be in trouble since the midget had heard him. Perfect.

"Whatever. You two are going to Twilight Town to vanquish the new Heartless threat." Axel groaned at Saix's demand. "Is there a problem Axel?"

"Problem? Me? Pffft, that's ridiculous!" At least he could get ice cream after the mission. "C'mon, shorty. Let's go kick some Heartless butt!" Zexion rolled his eyes at the pyro. Why did he have to be stuck with him? Axel always burned down his personal library!

Ignoring Axel, Zexion created a Corridor and walked through carelessly, leaving Axel to follow.

"You better actually do your job, Axel. Xemnas wasn't pleased by your last performance," Saix told him coldly. A glare followed his words.

"Don't worry about it! We'll do it right this time! Anyways, you know I don't get along with Vexen well. That's why the last mission failed. I was stuck with him," Axel explained. Then he followed Zexion to Twilight Town.

-Le Time Skip-

"We've been walking for HOURS!" Axel ceased to stop complaining, even after Zexion had thrown an illusion or two on him... Okay, maybe it was ten... or twenty, Zexion had lost count now. "Can't we just get ice cream and wait for the stupid thing to come out?"

"FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, NO! We have work to do and we're not slacking off! Go and find the stupid Heartless, kill it, and GO GET YOUR FRICKIN' ICE CREAM!" Zexion's face grew red as he yelled this at Axel, who was cowering behind his flame wall he created.

"I was just asking..." Zexion sighed in frustration at the pryo. 'Dangit, he's no fun,' Axel thought. "Why can't you ever be fun? You are the younger one here. Shouldn't you be the one asking for ice cream and all that cool stuff?" This made Zexion think. He had forgotten he was the younger one here.

"How old are you again? Twenty-two?" Zexion asked. Axel nodded. "And I'm only sixteen..." Axel did have a small point there. Maybe he should be a little more childish. "Hard to remember you're twenty-two when you act like a fricking ten-year-old."

"Hey! That was cruel!" Axel had thought he had gotten to Zexion, but he was wrong.

At that moment, a cry filled the air. Zexion smiled. "Looks like we found our target," he said while throwing an illusion over himself to make him disappear. Axel pouted since he didn't want to fight.

"I just want ice cream..." Then he saw the giant Heartless, which he identified as an Avalanche. "NOOOOO! NOT YOU!" Axel hated Avalanches because they were snow/ice controlling Heartless and he was a fire controlling Nobody. The Avalanche screeched when it saw the red-headed Nobody and launched some ice crystals at him. "Zexion," he shouted, "a little help would be nice!

As if on cue, and giant book closed around the Avalanche, trapping it inside. Zexion appeared right next to Axel as is he never moved a muscle, smiling. "Burn the book," he demanded. Axel did as he was told and incinerated the giant book that contained the Heartless.

"Woo! Now for some ice cream!" Before Zexion could stop him, Axel fled to the Clock Tower and spent hours eating ice cream. Zexion, of course, stayed at the library to read books from there.
