Chapter 9
"She what?!" Aku snarled at the lion and rhino standing before him.
The rhino guard stepped forward, fear etched on his wrinkly face. "S-She escaped s-sir." he stammered.
Aku's low growl filled the room and he lunged at the rhino, grabbing him by the throat with one paw. The rhino wheezed as Aku pulled the rhino closer to his face. "How?" Aku asked, baring his teeth and seething from anger.
The rhino swallowed a lump in his throat, sweat dripping from his forehead. "It was these two guards, a panda and another lion, they told us they were there to pick Jade up for execution…They said it was your orders…"
Aku snarled. "IDIOT!" He unsheathed his claws and dug them into the rhino's throat. "IF I WANTED JADE EXECUTED I WOULD HAVE PICKED HER UP MYSELF! NOT SEND TWO RANDOM GUARDS!"
The lion guard watched in horror as her leader sunk his claws deeper into the rhino's skin. The rhino gasped for air, blood running down his throat, until he passed out from lack of air and blood loss.
Aku, claws still unsheathed, dragged his paw against the rhino's throat. The rhino was dead in a matter of seconds. Blood spilled onto the floor and onto Aku's paw. Aku stomped up to the lion guard grabbing her face with his bloody paw. "If you don't want to end up like the rhino over there, I suggest you leave. AND DON'T COMEBACK UNTIL JADE IS BROUGHT BACK TO ME…GO! NOW!"
The lion sprinted out of the room as fast as her legs could take her. Aku turned away from the direction the lion ran and spoke in a demonic voice.
"You will not get away from me this time Jade."
It has been about two whole days since Xiao and Su broke Jade out of Aku's horrible Prison. They traveled as far away as possible from that wretched place, and decided to make camp in the mountains a day away from the Valley of Peace.
It was nearly sunset, and the sky was becoming a slightly darker shade of blue than it usually was in the daytime. Su was making some dinner over the burning fire while Xiao and Jade were sitting next to each other talking about her time in prison.
"Wow…your father visited you in dreams? I never knew that it was possible…" Xiao said in awe.
"I know…" Jade murmured thoughtfully. "I was very surprised when I saw him…I saw Master Oogway as well."
Su's ears perked up when she heard this. "Master Oogway? You mean the creator of Kung Fu Master Oogway?"
Xiao eyes widened. "Creator of Kung Fu? Wow!"
Jade smiled. "That's the one. My Mother and Father knew him at one point. My mother knew him for most of her life though."
"That's incredible…" Su murmured.
Jade nodded. "He was the one who predicted that someone would save me…Someone special…" Jade whispered the last part glancing at Xiao.
Xiao blushed and looked away. "I'm not that special…" he murmured.
"Are you kidding me?" Jade exclaimed. "You saved me! Aku probably would have killed me if you didn't show up with Su. Plus…you are very special to me."
Xiao looked up at Jade in surprise. "Really?"
Jade blushed and looked him in his sky blue eyes smiling. "Yeah…really"
"Dinner's ready!" Su shouted.
Su handed them each a bowl and Sat down across from them. "So Jade." She started. "What did your father tell you in those dreams you were having in prison?"
Jade pondered the question for a second. "He told me a lot of information. He told me about something called the Hero's Chi."
Xiao raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What's Hero's Chi?"
Jade shrugged, "I don't know much about it. Apparently Master Oogway had the Hero's Chi, and he used it to defeat an evil demon dragon named KePa, my father beat the same villain with the Hero's Chi after Oogway died and it was passed on to him."
"Wow…" Su murmured. "The Hero's Chi defeated a demon…It sounds like a very strong power."
"It is." Jade said. "My father told me that in order to defeat Aku, I have to go to the valley of peace to enhance my Hero's Chi and defeat him."
"So that's why we are going to the Valley of Peace…" Xiao murmured. "So you can enhance your Hero's Chi and beat the snot out of Aku."
Jade giggled at his choice of words. "That pretty much sums it up."
"What else?" Su asked, urging her to continue.
"My father also told me, that I am the new Dragon Warrior…" Jade said.
"What?" Xiao exclaimed. "That's awesome!"
Jade sighed. "Its something I wasn't expecting to happen…"
Xiao gave her a look like she was becoming crazy. "It sounds like you're saying it's a bad thing."
Jade looked away from him. "It's complicated…" She got up and walked away from the fire, disappearing higher up the mountain.
Su was confused. "What was that about?"
Xiao sighed. "I'm not sure…I should go talk to her."
Xiao stood up and proceeded towards the direction Jade went.
