A/N: Sorry that it has been so long since I last updated this story. I ran into a wall so I took a break from all fanfiction for a while. This is me trying to get back into the swing of the things, so if it is not up to the usual standard then I am sorry. Not sure if I will do any more chapters, will just have to wait and see how I feel, I guess. Hope you enjoy :)
Fury looked around the table in dismay, if the Avengers didn't stop soon then things were going to get ugly pretty quickly.
"Everyone, can we please get back to the point of this meeting!" Fury called, louder than intended due to the frustration he was suffering.
The Avengers all turned to look at the director before turning back to each other and continuing their silent conversation, their hands all moving rapidly and seemingly at the same time and yet still managing to communicate with each other. "Guys!"
Once again the Avengers all stopped but this time Steve took pity on the director, "Yes Sir?"
"We need to get this meeting done, and we can't do that if you are all too busy talking amongst yourselves!" "We weren't talking Sir." "Tony, I swear to God."
"What no one said a word."
"Sir, shouldn't we be getting back to business?" Tasha spoke softly from the table, glaring at Tony from across the table, "We'd like this to be over as soon as possible."
"Finally, yes let's finish this meeting," Fury sighed with relief, knowing that at least someone was on his side at last. The glimmer of hope that Natasha gave to him when she spoke up died when he saw that she turned back to the others and started to sign once again.
"I thought you said you wanted this meeting done with?"
Tasha finished signing at Clint and turned back to the director, "I did, we are discussing right now."
"Could you at least discuss out loud for the benefit of those of us that don't know sign language?"
"You don't know sign language Sir? I would have thought that you would learn, given the number of deaf agents that you employ."
"They all have hearing aids."
"What if they stopped working? You told us to learn properly so that we could communicate effectively if Clint were to lose his hearing aids, should you not do the same?"
Fury turned to Bruce in shock, the scientist hadn't spoken a word the whole time, he hardly ever spoke up in discussions and yet here he was berating him for not knowing sign language.
"Director, it would be a good idea for you to learn, maybe then you would be able to communicate well and join in on discussions that are not otherwise available to you," Clint spoke up before turning back to the others and giving a few hand gestures that Fury could not identify with his limited knowledge of signing. The assembled people seemed to come to some sort of decision as they all responded to Clint with the same hand gesture and they all stood up and began to leave the room. "Would anyone like to tell me what decision you came to?" Fury asked, arms folded, glaring at the superheroes.
They all turned to each other, looked at each other and turned back before saying in unison, "No," and left the room.
Fury ran a hand over his face, 'Why did I ever hope that they would bond more? Why did I make sure that they all knew sign language well? I should have known that all of them mixed together would cause me nothing but trouble, especially when I practically gave them a code that I don't have the means to break.'
"Damn Avengers."
