A Helping Paw

He knew something was wrong. He knew someone important was hurt. He knew exactly how to help, so he blinked. Not the normal blink that people do to hydrate their eyes, but the magical teleporting blink. Not even his friend and protector knew that he, the immortal cyborg cat, could do this. The adorable ebony-and-ivory cat re-appeared in a medical room. Not just any medical room, but the one where one of the youngest hunters was being repaired in.

Everything hurt, but he was alive. The navy hunter had a run-in with a powerful hunter and ended up victorious but severely damaged. Something heavy was now on the bed.

"Mow."

Axl would've leapt back in surprise if he could move. There now was a cat looking him in the eye, two golden spheres that seemed to be staring right through him. The cat sat down on his chest and curled into a fluffy, black-and-white ball. The fluffy creature began to purr.

It's working. The cyborg cat was pleased. He didn't know this hunter personally, but he could sense that they were important. They seemed to match their friend's description of a new hunter, Axl. If they were important enough to be spoken of and sensed, they certainly deserved relief.

The young hunter was confused. Why was this cat here? He had never seen or heard of a cat like this. It had an adorable patch of black fur that made them look like they had a hat on. The hunter then noticed that the cat's loud purring was distracting him from the pain very effectively. Thankful, he began to pet the cat.

Yes, relax and be soothed. The redhead hunter's petting felt very nice, almost as nice as the blonde's. Mel continued to purr and Axl continued to pet. The furry friend knew that purring helps healing with humans and he hoped the same applied to Reploids. When the petting stopped, he looked up to the hunter's face. They were asleep. Satisfied, the cat brushed his fluffy, black tail against the hunter's child-like face and blinked back into his friend's room. He liked this small hunter and hoped to see them again in better condition.
