Consider the Crow

"...They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!" – Luke 12:24

A/N: Sam's going to make Dean eat his words.

Eating Crow

"...a woman rang the BBC and said she heard there was a hurricane on the way; well, if you're watching, don't worry, there isn't..." – Michael Fish, BBC Weather, eve of the Great Storm of 1987

Sam slammed down the food he'd prepared.

Dean blanched at the blackened mess. "No way! I can't eat that, Sammy."

Sam glared. "Hey Sam, let's take a boat out ourselves to look for Cthulhu, it'll be fun," he mimicked savagely. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO CHECK THE WEATHER REPORT!"

"I did, it's not my fault they were wrong!"

"Two days, Dean. Two crappy days we've been stuck out here on this godforsaken rock."

"I said I was sorry."

"Well, someone up there's laughing, because this is all I've been able to catch. So man up, Dean. It's time to eat crow."

A/N: It's payback time. Spoilers for S7.

Karma's a Bitch

"People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead... Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back ..." – The Crow

Branwen was the first woman Dean had kissed since escaping Purgatory and he knew to say he'd fallen hard was an understatement.

They were snuggled up watching 'Dr. Sexy' when Sam came in.

"Do you love me?" Branwen asked Dean, her eyes searching his face for something.

"Damn, yes."

She stood to reveal black crow wings and... boy does she have a long nose.

"I'm Tengu, a monster. You gonna kill me?"

"N-no," he answered, stunned.

"Not so easy now, is it? Amy says 'Hi'."

"What is it with winged tricksters always trying to teach him a lesson?" Sam muttered.

A/N: Branwen's a mash-up of a Welsh name and Japanese and Australian Aborigine myths.

Nevertold

Dean enjoyed watching the sunrise after the unending twilight of Purgatory. Who'd ever thought he'd be pleased to be up at dawn?

He noticed a flock of magpies. "Four for a boy..."

"What are you doing?" asked Castiel walking into the room.

Dean blushed, "Counting crows..."

"I know the rhyme, but why's it called that when they're magpies?"

"Whatever, Cas. It's just an old superstition."

Dean heard Sam calling him from the other room. "Coming, Sammy."

Castiel counted the birds, working his way through the verse.

"Seven's a secret never told..." he sighed, following Dean to see what Sam needed.

A/N: Apparently it's a tiding or congregation of magpies. I thought I'd stick with flock for at least some clarity in this drabble.
