OH. MY. GOODNESS. BATMAN...IS...IS...totally, inconceivably epic. Seriously.

There is probably more to come, but I had to get out some of my feels.

Selina has a hard time thinking of Bruce as anything other then Bruce. Rarely does she think of him as Batman, and the reason why is not difficult to decipher; Batman and Bruce are more human then they ever were machine.

She thinks of him on the way out of the city. It's ironic to her that he had been her mind the last time she had attempted leaving.

Large masses of people surge around her, and Selina muses on how easy it would be to snatch the gray haired man's wallet, or swipe the young woman in the red trench coat's watch. She could steal so many things. But... Well, Selina thinks she has betrayed Bruce's trust one too many times.

Even if he is dead.

There is a hard lump in her throat, that seems to be caused by grief, but there is something else as well. Trust is a gift and curse to Selina, and it seems Bruce knew that too. The codes, the virus, whatever was in that memory chip worked; she is free to begin anew.

She could have loved him forever for that. But it seems she will never get the chance.

Three weeks later she sits on the balcony of a posh hotel overlooking the Venice skyline. Spring suits Italy wonderfully, and Selina relishes the sweet breezes that play with her hair. It's about min-morning, and the sun casts a lovely coral, sunflower golden glow in the sky. Maybe, Selina muses, she'll stay her and purchase a place near her favorite bistro, take early morning runs and perhaps find a way to get rid of her sticky hands. Or not. But maybe she'll try. For him.

Three firm knocks on the door interrupt her list of maybe's to answer the door.

And it's Bruce. Of course it is.

He looks a bit frayed and cracked from his... Well from whatever Bane did to him for those five months. But he looks happier, so much happier then he was when she danced with him all that time ago.

She smiles a wide smile before letting him in and asks, "How did you manage to make it out?"

He gives her a wry grin, his eyes dancing, and says,"Because I'm Batman."

She throws her head back and laughs, and she lets him in, in ways she has with no one else.
