Hey all this is Chapter 21 - Lancelot part 2 – hope you enjoy

"You're Arthur cousin? You're royalty?" asked Lancelot wide eyed

Merlin rubbed the back of his head "Did I forget to mention that?"

Lancelot was lost for words for a moment "You lied, you said I was from a noble family"

Merlin shrugged "The first code of Camelot is that Knights have to be from a noble family. I have seen you fight. You fight better than half the knights we already got. I believe that anyone should have a change to become a knight no matter were they from"

Lancelot looked at Merlin in shook "If the kings finds out"

"Then I'll get into trouble" said Merlin he paused "But I am always in trouble, talking about trouble I'll better go and see what my uncle wants" Merlin grinned "Don't worry we're not breaking the rules... just bending them" Merlin went out of the room.

Merlin walked up to Uther "Uncle you wanted to see me?"

"I head you had a run in with something in the woods" said Uther looking at Merlin. Merlin nodded "What did it look like?"

"I think it was a griffin" said Merlin "It was like a horse with a beck and talons. It also had wings... do you think it was the same one that attack the village?"

"It seem like it" said Uther "But next time it attacks we'll be ready. Now Merlin I want you to help Arthur with training the new knights tomorrow"

"Yes Uncle" said Merlin leaving the room and made his way back to Gaius chambers and walked in

Gaius was there "You and Arthur should learn to knock"

"Sorry Gaius" said Merlin "I just wanted to warn you before hand, uncle has order me to help Arthur with the knights training tomorrow. So you might have one or two knocked out men "

"And no doubt you will pull those stitches" said Gaius rolling his eyes

"I have to go" said Merlin "I already missed lots of training, I have to uphold the Pendragon name can't make us look weak can I? where Lancelot?"

Gaius looked at Merlin "He was feeling better and wanted to help me out. His getting water from the well"

Merlin grinned "Great, see you later" before rushing out of the room. Gaius shook his head and carry on with his work.

Merlin walked tilled he found Lancelot "I have you seal this evening" said Merlin

"I want to be a knight, but not this way" said Lancelot

Merlin shrugged "Hey I'm trying to help you. You want to be a knight. I am giving you a change to do that."

Lancelot looked at Merlin "You don't like being a knight do you?"

"I didn't have a chose" said Merlin "My family have a long history of good and noble fighters. For me not to fight..." Merlin shook his head don't wanting to think about it "Everyone had a plan for me, I got to fulfil my duties... and my duties are to the people of Camelot. I have to protect them and to do that I have to fight" Merlin looked at Lancelot "I have to follow the rules all my life, but some of the rules are wrong... I want to make a change for the better" Merlin shrugged "Why do you want to be a knight?"

Lancelot looked at Merlin. He trusted Merlin, he was loyal and open minded. Also he seem to believe in him "When I was a boy my village got attack but raiders" began Lancelot "They slaughter were they stood, my father, my mother, every one. I vowed that day that never again I be helpless in the face of tyranny" Lancelot looked away from Merlin "I made swordcraft my life. I devoted to the art of Combat and when I was ready I set forth to Camelot"

"Listen to me" said Merlin "I just going to help you get started after than it going to be up to you. To show them what you got"

Lancelot thought about it "Were are you going to get a seal from anyway?"

Merlin grinned "Can't tell that" before wondering off. Lancelot watch him go then remember he was to bring Gaius the water.

...

Merlin walked in to the library and quickly find the book he was looking for he sat in a dark place in the library and open the book and grinned he got some parchment and quietly said a spell "Icuis bisan raditani huhnan" copying the family tree on to the parchment. Merlin out the parchment in his jacket and put the book away bumping into Geoffrey.

"History is fascinating" said Merlin before walking off.

Merlin went to find Lancelot and find him doing some job for Gaius again "Hey got your seal" said Merlin passing it to Lancelot "You are now the fifth son of Lord Eldred of Northumbria"

"Who?" asked Lancelot

"Don't worry, I tell you all the information you need on the way to Gwens" said Merlin

"Gwen?"

"She going to help you look like a knight" said Merlin "And don't worry about helping Gaius, Caleb is going to do that"

"Who's Caleb?" asked Lancelot

"My servant" said Merlin matter of flatly "I gave him a few days off, come on"

...

In Gwen house Gwen was doing some measurements "Thank you" said Lancelot "This is kind of you"

"No problem at all" said Gwen "I think it's a good thing Merlin is helping you out. We need non arrogant knights of once"

"Hey!" said Merlin "I'm not arrogant"

"You can sometimes" said Gwen "But not as much as the others"

"Thanks I think" said Merlin standing up "I have to too help Arthur plan for tomorrow. I see you at the training ground first thing tomorrow. Don't be late trust me that' never a good thing"

...

The next morning Lancelot was at the training ground early Gwen was helping with the chin main when Caleb walked up "Merlin sent me here to pass on a message. He say good luck" Lancelot nodded not sure what to Say "Arthur and Merlin are on their way now" said Caleb

Soon enough Merlin and Arthur walked into the middle of the training ground both dress in chainmail. "Right" said Arthur "You want to be knights of Camelot, you're going to have to fight like knights of Camelot. Me and my cousin Merlin will show you. My cousin might not be as good as he is normal since he just of over bring poison, but he still a good"

"Good?" said Merlin "I show you Arty"

"What ever you say Bird brain" said Arthur and Arthur and Merlin started fighting. It was amazing to watch. Merlin was a brilliant fighter and you wouldn't of know he was poison. He fight in his own way that Lancelot never seen before. Arthur too was brilliant and fast he come close to knocking Merlin to his feet then suddenly Merlin would get the upper hand for a while and mange to knock Arthur down, Arthur knocked Merlin down and both of them jumped up grapping there weapons and carry on fighting until a servant hit the gong saying the match was over. Arthur and Merlin shook Hands

"Best yet I say" said Arthur

"I don't know I still think the fighting in the tree when we were young is still my favour" said Merlin

Arthur shook his head "It would be, right lets see how you friend dose" Arthur walked over to Lancelot "Lancelot right?"

"Yes my lord" said Lancelot

"Have you got your seal?" asked Arthur

"Yes sire" said Lancelot passing it to Arthur who unrolled it and looked at it

"You are Lancelot the fifth son of Lord Eldred of Northumbria" read Arthur he looked at Merlin "Funny I though Lord Eldred had four sons"

Merlin shook his head "No I think you are confusing yourself with Lord William"

Arthur rolled his eyes "Right them.. .Lancelot you want to be a knight?"

"Yes my lord" said Lancelot

"Right muck out the stables" said Arthur "And Merlin... no helping"

Merlin have a innocent face "Helping when I have ever done that?"

Arthur looked at his cousin "Do you want me to give you a list?"

...

Lancelot was busy mucking out the stables when Merlin walked over "What are you doing here?" asked Lancelot

"Just to see you" said Merlin "Don't worry mucking out the stables is one of the test to see if you are willing to get dirty and do lower men work or something"

Lancelot stop what he was doing "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure" said Merlin

"You said you hate being a knight but I saw you fighting today you enjoyed it" said Lancelot

"It was more play fighting" said Merlin "We was not going to hurt each other. I like to study and learn things being a knight you don't have to be too smart just know how to fight. You can protect people not just by fighting. If you look in to history half the fights we do are replays. Fighting about the same thing, mainly land. If we could come with a solution peace meeting and agreement then all this bloodshed will be over"

"So have peace meeting going?" asked Lancelot

"Have one last week" said Merlin "Ended up being poison and my uncle almost started a war, but the war didn't happen so I think we are slowly getting somewhere. I better let you get on, Arthur will pop by and see how well you done it"

"Great" said Lancelot "What dose he normally get people to do next"

"It depended on what mood he is in" said Merlin "See you later"
