Hey guys, I'm back with more! I know it's been a while and I'm sorry, just I'm busy with school and I've been debating whether or not to continue this story because of what I had planned in the future for the story I stopped liking. After a while of more development, I've come up with something better to continue this story with and decided to continue. Hopefully this chapter won't have terrible grammar and spelling, really sorry for that. It's just that I had major issues with this site to where if I put in a word and saved it, it would randomly disappear. I'll try posting the next chapter tonight since I haven't in a while. Anyway, story!
Luigi ran and ran, he couldn't stop his feet. He ran down the East path as fast as he could. Crazy thoughts filled his mind. Kill Mario. Kill all the toads who talked about you that way, that's not you.
"No," Luigi shouted out loud. No one was around that he could possibly be shouting to. He was just shouting to the voices in his head. "That's not me either! I don't kill people! I'd never ever kill anyone!"
Oh, and all of those goombas and koopas you killed aren't people? You didn't kill them? The voice in his head said.
"I...Their...Their evil, and they were going to kill me if I didn't! It's self defense! It was for the princess!" Luigi shouted, tears streaming from his eyes.
Whatever you say, buddy. If toads and koopas are so evil, why is it the ones in places like 'Goomba Village' and 'Koopa Town' are nice?
"They aren't trying to kill me! They aren't one of Bowser's minions! Who are you?!" Luigi shouted. He felt as if he were going insane.
Who am I? Who am I? Oh wow, pal, I thought we were friends. Yet you don't even know who I am. Mr. Innocent, I'm you.
Luigi stopped. "You're not me," He whispered. "You can't be me."
Was the voice in his head really his own thoughts? Did he really, deep down, wish to kill Mario and all of those toads? Did he really think he was a murderer? Did he?
Believe it, sweetheart. I'm you. I mean, if I'm not you, who else could I be? You don't seriously think that someone else is on that path with you, do you?
Luigi wrapped his arms around himself. He was alone, out here. The only person accompanying him were the psychotic thoughts filling his mind.
"Where did I go wrong?" Luigi whispered to himself.
Then another voice rang through his mind. It's going to be alright. You'll see.
Luigi jumped. That voice wasn't his own. It wasn't really a thought, either. It randomly came to him. It sounded almost like an angels voice. It was feminine and perfect, yet uncomfortable and strange at the same time. He didn't know how he felt about it, and therefore, it scared him. He was terrified.
"Who's there?" Luigi asked out loud. When he got no response, he began to feel himself shivering. Luigi turned around and looked in the direction leading back to Toad Town. Something overcame him, and he suddenly felt as though he was never going to see that path again. Why he felt that way, he didn't know. All he knew was that he had to turn around and keep walking to Goomba Village.
About a full hour of walking and crying later, Luigi found himself at Goomba Village. He had now gotten over the sadness and the fear, because he knew it would get him no where. He recognized the small gate that he could easily walk over to get to the village, but he respectfully waited at the gate for Goompapa to unlock it for him.
"Luigi, my boy!" Goompapa's familiar voice shouted. Goompapa happily waddled to the gate and, taking out a key with the hands he didn't have, unlocked the gate and allowed Luigi into the village.
"Hey, Goompapa. Where's Goombar-" Luigi started, but just then Goombaria, the little daughter of Goompapa, came running around the corner of the Goomba's house.
"You'll never catch me!" Goombaria giggled, her cheeks red with excitement. Goombaria ran in and, having noticed Luigi, ran up to him and looked at him pleadingly. "Hide me!"
Luigi acted quickly and picked up Goombaria and took off his hat, placing Goombaria on his head and placing the hat over her. He could vaguely hear her giggling just as Goombario, Goompapa's son, turned the corner of the house.
"Where are you?!" Goombario shouted. Goombaria struggled to stay silent under the plumber's hat.
Goombario eyed his surroundings and immediately noticed Luigi.
"Luigi!" Goombario's eyes lit up. He ran as fast as he could to Luigi's side. "Where's Mario?"
"I'm aloud to visit alone, aren't I?" Luigi asked, not willing to talk about what had happened. "And don't you have a sister to be looking for?
"Oh yeah." Goombario said, as if he had forgotten all about Goombaria. Goombario scurried off in search of his little sister.
Goompapa chuckled. "Those kids."
Luigi offered a fake chuckle that he didn't put much effort into. Suddenly Goombario ran by shouting. "I give up! Where are you, Goombaria?"
Goombaria peeked her head out from under Luigi's hat. "You're so lame, I told you you'd never find me!" she shouted with her tongue out. Goombaria jumped off of Luigi's head and ran over to Goombario happily.
Goompapa shook his head, then turned his attention to the sky. Luigi had just noticed it, but the sun was setting. "Why are you here so late, Luigi? I don't assume you'd visit here so late just to visit."
"Oh, I..." Luigi had to think of an excuse, and fast. But it was hard lying to Goompapa. Luigi decided to only bend the truth a little bit. "Princess Peach got kidnapped and Mario is sick. I'm saving her on my own, this time."
"On you're own?" Goompapa lowered an eyebrow and his mustache furrowed.
"Yeah, but at this rate we'll never get the princess back if I don't go." Luigi half-smiled, as if to comfort him.
"You know, a while back, when Bowser had the Star Rod... Goombario went with Mario... I won't mind lending you him, he can be a lot of help." Goompapa said.
The fact that he's so willing to let him take his children, made Luigi think maybe they resented Goombario. Luigi knew better, though. He was just trying to be generous, in case Luigi was ever in need of help.
"No, I think I'll be fine, I-" Luigi started, but Goombario came running by, Goombaria running close behind.
"Goombario on another adventure," Goombaria whined. "Why can't I ever go?"
"You're too little, Goombaria." Goombario teased. Goombaria responded by poking Goombario while he was off guard.
"Got you." She said, with her tongue out.
This little exchange somewhat reminded him of himself and Mario. Mario always leaving for another adventure and half the time he didn't get to go. Why was that, that the younger sibling was always left behind? Why?
"Would it be alright if I took Goombaria?" Luigi asked lightly, still in thought and not completely confident in his question yet.
"Goombaria?" Goompapa asked, his eyes widening. Goompapa looked from Goombaria, then Goombario, then to Luigi, and then closed his eyes in a deep thought. Eventually Goompapa sighed, and nodded. "I suppose that will be alright, as long as Goombaria wants to."
"Me? An adventure?" Goombaria asked, looking back and forth from Goompapa to Luigi. "Yes! Yes! Please take me! Please take me Luigi!" The little Goomba squealed. She was so excited that she kissed everyone on the cheek, as she had a few years ago when Mario returned her lost dolly. Luigi smiled knowing he brought joy to this little Goomba that was so like him.
Luigi decided that night to sleep in the nearby Toad house, and the next morning, Luigi and Goombaria were to set off on their adventure.
