Chappie 6 YO!

For several days Gaara had been gone for some diplomatic meetings in another village, leaving her such little time to think or act upon anything. It seemed the council was doing everything in their power to keep her and Gaara away from one another.

Sakura supposed it would end exactly so, Gaara wed to Sari, and she returned to Konoha with her tail between her legs in sorrow. She'd no idea why she'd come to think it would end any other way, she was a stranger allowed to stay her for a favor they asked of her village. There was no reason nor permission to sit so high upon her horse because she'd slept with the Kage, whom was supposed to be a recovering patient.

She cursed under her breath. Her health was deteriorating fast despite her renowned medical prowess. Yet stress wasn't something that had an antidote nor viable cure, it was something that could only be taken care of when the problem it self had been resolved. She didn't see that happening any time soon.

The wedding was tomorrow evening and Gaara was to return from his business early that morning, giving him enough time to prepare for the ceremony. There was not much else to do but grab her weakening body a meal and finally get some rest.

Sakura was honored with a front row seat at the fifth Kazekage Sabaku no Gaara's wedding to the next Sabaku no Sari. Her married name rolled off her tongue so sweetly it nearly made Sakura vomit. In fact this entire occasion made her want to vomit.

She'd been asked by the elders themselves to honor them by remaining for the wedding, to which she had very reluctantly obliged. Now here she was in the most elegant black gown she'd ever been given sitting next to Temari who despite her gorgeous formal appearance, had yet to stop pouting childishly. Sakura heaved a sigh worthy of the misfortune that had descent upon her.

Sakura and Temari had spent the last few days of Gaara's absence doing any and all they could to postpone his betrothal, failing miserably each and every time. She couldn't even remember the last proper meal she'd eaten in all her skittering about in worry. The room tilted slowly and her forehead wrinkled with her furrowed brows. He was pretty sure the room was not supposed to move, yet no one else felt this disturbance.

She jumped when the music began to play stifling a yawn of utter exhaustion and surrender. Today she was going to watch in shame as the man she slept with behind the backs of his councilmen, and new wife, marries another woman.

Gaara was led by two of the eldest councilmen and followed by the two of the youngest councilmen. His face was void of emotions only showing the faintest hint of absolute irritation and reluctance. Had he given up on trying to be with her?

Sakura watched each step he took towards her and then past up to the stand where the contract was to be completed. Not once did he glance her way. The audience grew excited and Sakura felt each side of her heart clutched tightly and with each step of the bride's heels, the sides were pulled from each other stretching it until it simply tore apart and sunk deep into her stomach.

Everything tilted and swirled again. A dizzy spell had fallen over her. Surely heartbreak did not cause dizziness, So what was? Her disapproval of this marriage would not allow her to ruin it by face diving into unconsciousness in the front row. After the bride had cleared the walkway she took her chance to exit the hellish space rubbing gently at her temples.

She had hoped to watch the unfortunate events play out in hopes that the broken heart she'd be sent home with would serve as a long reminder of what she'd caused for the Kazekage. She probably should not have come at all seeing how her health had been failing her.

The path before her curved and swirled and the lights began to fade. The smiling faces of the audience turned to those of concern then faded completely. She hit the ground with a soft thud.

'At least her blushing face is gone.'

Sakura woke to a blinding light and screeching far too close to her ears for comfort.

"This has to be a joke! How convenient that she fall upon such a predicament the day of the ceremony?!" She heard the voice screech. "The gall to scheme such wicked ideas to keep him as her own!" the voice continued. Were they speaking ill of her?

A quiet slap followed and the screeching stopped.

"It would do you well to not speak ill of my savior. Had it not for her I might be dead, Kankuro might be dead, our village in shambles. Please keep such in mind." She heard Gaara's low growl.

"It will not slip my mind again Gaara-sama." The other now recognizably female voice replied bitterly. She heard footsteps and the room fell silent again.

"Screeching isn't the greatest sound first thing in the morning, but i suppose it verifies the fact that I am alive." The men in the room heard. All eyes fell on Sakura who immediately regretted speaking at all.

"How dare you." An elder woman hidden in the back spoke up. "We allow you in our village, treat you equivalent of a hero, leave our leader in your hands and you betray us in such a manner." She finished sharply.

Sakura stared in confusion but felt her heart wrench in her chest. Sari had told them, her and Gaara's affair.

"That child cannot be given birth to. It would shatter the very laws of our village. Affairs are not tolerated in our village." Another man chimed in.

"Child?" Sakura asked. She was pregnant now too? Someone seemed to enjoy putting rotten cherries on her sundaes.

"I..." She droned off unsure of what could possibly be said to alleviate the situation when she'd clearly ruined things beyond repair. After seemingly finishing everything they had to say, the elders left the room and only Gaara remained.

"Gaara, I'm so sorry." Sakura whispered hanging her head.

"For?" He responded back. Something about his expression seemed relaxed? relieved? maybe even excited? She shook the feeling off to respond.

"Everything. I've wreaked havoc in your village and even angered the elders." She sobbed back.

"It's going to happen from time to time. Besides I had absolutely no desire to wed that woman. However I have something which I would like to show you." He said kneeling beside her bedside and reaching for his pockets.

Excitement, horror, and disbelief settled on Sakura's face until he pulled a scroll from his person, not a ring. She nearly laughed out bitterly at her own foolish expectations taking the scroll from his hands and unraveling it with care.

"I Senju Tsunade, have bestowed upon thee Kage of Sunagakure, my permission to take the hand in marriage of the loyal and sworn Konohagakure kunoichi, Sakura Haruno, in subtle attempts to strengthen our alliance. Said Kunoichi is granted the ability to stay sworn to Konoha, swear new allegiance to the village or Sunagakure, or retain allegiances to both villages. Senju Tsunade." Sakura read softly to her self. Each word that slid off her tongue left her eyes a little wider, each breath she took left another tear in her eye.

"You asked Tsunade-sama to marry me?" She whispered in awe, lowering the scroll to find Gaara smiling genuinely back at her. He took her hand sliding a ring donned with suna's symbol with a bright white gemstone in the middle carved into Konoha's whirlpool symbol.

"With your approval I will present this scroll to my village's elders and thus our child's life is saved and you will never leave my side, like I promised."

There you have it another chapter. Now ive got an absolutely devastating twist i just dont know who i am going to make the antagonist.
