Hello readers, reviewers, and followers of Sugar, Geeks, and Card Games, Oh My! To the loyal readers who noticed that I deleted the second arc to the original story. I decided that the second arc was starting to get out of control from my original goal for the arc. So I decided to scrap the arc in order to make something I would be happy with. Another factor to my decision was the lack of updating I did with the story. With the card game growing as fast as it did, many card mechanics have not only changed but became faster than when I originally wrote the story. The ban-list, Pendulum and Link Monsters, and the multitude of different archetypes bring too many factors to the original second arc that had my mind go wild with ideas.
With that said, I am not abandoning Stocking's journey into the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! While I have considered making some spin-offs of Stocking or other Panty & Stocking characters trying out other hobbies, this crossover holds a special place in my heart and I want to finish this journey. So, for those who wanted me to finish the original second arc, I apologize for disappointing you. I hope you will enjoy this new arc!
The world became rotten. Its inhabitants never cared for anyone except themselves. Everything that existed in front of them were only a resource to exploit until they needed to be replaced. Streets were filled with decaying bodies that were stripped of everything of worth. From clothes to their organs, nothing were left for the dead to be identified by their loved ones. As people became more withdrawn from socializing with one another in order to protect their greed, a single observer looked at the city that was her home. This was not how she recognized her home.
An unnatural roar made her turn around to see a tall beast she could not recognize. It did not look like a Ghost, making her wonder if this was an unsealed Demon wanting to destroy the city. White noise embraced her, making her scream into the void as a blinding light smashed into the unknown beast. She turned to see a small figure surrounded by blazing orange raise a scepter above its head. A new monster appeared above the figure with its golden body shining brighter than her eyes could handle.
"Die." Without warning a blast of energy slammed into her, waking up the Angel known as Stocking Anarchy from her dream. As she stood up from her bed to examine herself, fixing her long hair in the process, Stocking felt an unusual presence coming from outside her window. Before the unknown could notice that it had been discovered, Stocking grabbed her end table and threw it out her window before jumping after it. Her training in Heaven would be the sole reason she was able to survive the fall without losing her footing, only to realize that her target was not falling towards the ground as she was at that moment. Instead the figure, whose presence blurred into obscurity under its grey robe, stood on the trim of her roof for a moment before diving into her room.
"Hey!" Rather than running through the house to get to her room, Stocking activated one of her Stripes, plunging it into the wall of the church and jumped on the hilt. Using it as a spring board, the Angel found herself launched to her window and grabbed at the frame. "Get out of my shit!" As soon as Stocking raised herself to the window frame, the first thing she noticed were her cards tossed all over the place. All of her Yu-Gi-Oh cards were coating nearly every surface of her room, making her look everywhere for the figure and the one thing that mattered the moment she noticed her cards were out of place.
Her deck box. The deck box that not only housed her primary deck, but held the card that got her into the hobby, was ripped in half. The cards it once housed were piled around its carcass, face up, yet a single card was not there. As Stocking found herself looking through that specific pile first, followed by the other cards that surrounded her, she came to realize a terrible truth.
Her Darkness Neosphere had been stolen.
"Oi, what the hell is your problem Stocking?" Panty, the blonde whore of the Anarchy family, opened the door to her room. With so many feelings running through her at once, Stocking did the only thing that felt right at that moment.
"GET OUT! GET OUT! GET THE FUCK OUT!" With a snarl, Stocking grabbed Panty by her long hair and threw her out of the room hard. The echoes of breaking lumber sung to the goth, yet its music did nothing to calm her. She locked her door, knowing that any more interruptions would result in some dire consequences, and began the process of organizing her cards. Her room, as she began to clean it of the debris she created, felt foreign to her.
Wait, that might have been the fact that she no longer had a window. The breeze that found its way to her carried with it a small card unlike anything she ever saw before. The back of it was the familiar brown swirl of a Yu-Gi-Oh card, which was not the problem. The problem was the "front" of the card, rather than having card art and properties to a normal card she would know, had a picture of a black crown. She jumped to grab the card before it could somehow fly away. This card was the only clue she had to hopefully find her Darkness Neosphere. With that in mind, she grabbed her necessities before dialing a number on her phone. Within seconds of the line connecting, Stocking spoke before the other person could speak.
"Kneesocks, I need a favor. Can you look into the Police Department's recent cases about stolen cards?" The next few words Kneesocks spoke shocked the Angel. Apparently she had been hit as well by a thief, and she was not the only one. Duelists were discussing online what happened to their cards. Some people had their entire deck stolen, others had certain card series or, like her, a single card taken. "Did anyone find a card with a black crown mixed in with their other cards?" Suddenly the line disconnected, annoying the Angel. She just paid her cell phone bill last week! Maybe it was time to upgrade her phone? Within seconds her phone began to ring, when she was about to swipe the phone to accept the call, she paused.
There was no number on the screen.
"What the hell…Is this a glitch?" Stocking accepted the call, expecting it to be Kneesocks giving an awkward cough before continuing where she left off moments ago. What welcomed the Angel was a stern, serious voice that she never heard before.
"Come to The Cellar and The Black Crown shall be your key." The line disconnected before Stocking could get a word in, annoying the Angel to no end. So the thief left The Black Crown on purpose. Was this some sort of test against duelists? If the thief only wanted her Darkness Neosphere for profit, why tell her where to potentially find him? There was just one problem she found herself coming across. Where the hell was The Cellar?
