Well. It took me over five years but I've done it. I've finally, FINALLY, finished chapter ten. It's not as long as some of my other chapters, but it's mostly a dialogue chapter to set up for other events in the future. To those of you still reading this, thank you. I appreciate you all. Anyways, enjoy this newest chapter.

DISCLAIMER: I still don't own YuGiOH of any other material mentioned here, even after five years. All original characters and story plots are my own.

Yami wondered, not for the first time since lunch had started, whether it was possible to discreetly kill someone and get away with it. His friends were hard to handle on a good day, but today they were riled up to no end. He would have found it oddly endearing that it was on his behalf if he wasn't so irritated with the entire situation in general. And the other customers were starting to give them looks.

"No Seto. For the last time we cannot stick him in a box and ship him to another country. I don't care how much money you have, that's not going to work." Yami looked over in time to see Seto smirk.

"Money can buy discretion. And a very large box." Duke rolled his eyes.

"The answer is still no." Marik chose that moment to chime in.

"What if we didn't send him away? What if we just made him... disappear? Flamethrowers don't really leave behind much evidence. And they're hard to trace." Yami could almost swear he saw a vein pop out on Duke's forehead.

"That is murder. You do that and I won't even try to defend your ass in court. I'll let you rot in prison. Hopefully you'd get stabbed." Bakura shook his head.

"Nah. Marik would find creative ways to torture everyone so that no one would even want to come near him. I for one, think the flamethrower idea is excellent. Knock him out, put him on a garbage bag and burn him to a crisp. Throw the bag in a furnace somewhere and we're set. Kaiba what do you think?"

"My idea sounds like less personal involvement but even I must admit your plan has its merits. You actually thought of something intelligent. For once. I'm in." Duke turned pleading eyes to Yami. He took pity on him.

"As lovely as that sounds, and as convenient as it would be, I have to agree with Duke. Too much risk involved. Also, not talking about murder in a public place would be excellent." Marik and Bakura both rolled their eyes and Seto simply scoffed.

"Well what does the ace attorney Phoenix Wright over there propose then?" Duke glared and sat up straight, pulling some papers out of his case.

"A few years back, when I was still in law school, we had a case similar to this, that some of us got to sit in on. I'm hoping that this one can run off the same concept as that one. Basically a family friend noticed the kids had bruises all over their bodies and confronted the parents. It ended up going to court, with the parents claiming that the friend had abused their kids numerous times when he would babysit them. As evidence against the contrary was scarce and the kids were too young and scared to come to the stand and testify, we ended up doing some investigation into the parents history. Multiple arrests and domestic complaints were filed against both of them. We managed to use this against them and brought the truth to light. The parents were arrested and custody was given to the children's grandparents."

"Now, I know this is a slightly different scenario but the major points are the same. If we can dig into the background of Yugis' father, we may find exactly what we need to put him on blast and tear apart his entire made up story." Bakura and Marik looked impressed.

"That may actually work. I'm no saint but I can tell he isn't either. A guy like that has to have some kind of criminal background. I can almost guarantee it. If you want, Marik and I can ask around, see who it was he borrowed all that money from and if they know anything else about him." Duke nodded hesitantly.

"That could work. But remember. Information obtained from other criminals isn't going to hold up well in court. We'll have to find a way to work around that."

"Don't worry man. We'll figure it out."

"I can get a private investigator to look into his father too. I'm not saying he won't be able to find out exactly what Marik and and Bakura can, but on the off chance that they do discover something we can always have the PI claim he dug it up," Seto chimed in.

"That would actually work in our favor rather well. Just make sure he's discreet." Seto smirked once more.

"I told you Devlin. Money buys discretion. I'll make sure he never even thinks about breathing a word to anyone." Duke turned to Yami.

"Do you have anything that would help your alibi? Anything that would prove you weren't the one who kidnapped him and beat him within an inch of his life?" Yami winced at that, starting to shake his head no, before he suddenly stopped.

"My security cameras! I had those cameras installed outside my home after that break in. They'd show what time I left my home to go for a drive. And there's the dash-cam in my car too. I can go back and check the footage, but I'm pretty sure it was facing the direction the incident was going on. So it would've captured me jumping out of the car to go save Yugi!"

"Excellent!" Duke exclaimed. "That will help solidify your alibi and then all we have to do is prove that it was his father who orchestrated the entire thing. After that it should be smooth sailing." He looked at each of them in turn, practically bouncing with the prospect of putting a piece of trash in it's place. "So, you all know what to do. Let's take out the trash."

I didn't want the Author's Note at the start to be super long so I'm putting all the information down here. Once again I would like to apologize to everyone who has been following this story for the past five years, waiting for an update. It was a very unexpected and unplanned hiatus and so much has happened that I just couldn't write. I'm not promising that my updates will be as frequent as they were when I first started writing this, but it will be updated and I will finish it. That being said, after five years of being away from this story, the inspiration that I once had for it has all but left me. This means that updates will be slower than I would like them to be and you'll see updates for different stories I've started working on. I'm hoping that by writing other things, I will find the inspiration to finish this one. Like I said in my update few months ago, I will be going back through the previous chapters and reworking them because the grammar and spelling is atrocious and I wrote them when I was like thirteen. So expect those updates sometime soon. Also, the summary will be updated. Because that is also bad. It all just makes me cringe. If you guys have any suggestions for the story, feel free to leave them in a comment or even PM me. Life is still crazy so I can't promise I'll respond to everyone right away but I will get back to you if you want to talk shop about the story. Anyways this note is getting ridiculously long so I'll stop here. Once again, thank you for sticking with this and I hope to hear from you all. Drop me a fave and follow if you like the new style.
