Local Diner

"N-Natsu...slow down would you...I'm not that rich!" Lucy warned. She knew Natsu ate a lot but today...today he was just milking it.

People had to leave the diner because Natsu's empty plates were piled across 4 different tables. Still, there was no sign of him giving in anytime soon.

"MORE MEAT!" The dragon slayer bellowed, his eyes shining with excitement. The waitress nodded and skipped into the kitchen, passing a crying chef.

"He..he's eating my diner out completely...YOU BETTER HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY!" The chef yelled at them, the order was aimed more towards Lucy.

Thaaaaaat didn't go down too well with Natsu.

"Don't yell at my girlfriend!" He spat, giving off an annoyed aura. The chef nodded quickly, running back into the kitchen.

"Hmph, as I thought." Natsu said triumphantly, holding his head up high. Lucy giggled, shaking her head slightly. Although she felt bad for the chef, she kinda liked it when Natsu defended her. And so quickly to!

"C'mon, Natsu. Hurry up and finish so we can go do something else, 'kay?"

"Aw, I thought this was just going to be a lunch?" Natsu asked a little sadly.

SLAP

"OWW~! What was that for?!"

"I am your girlfriend, idiot! Not a damn food dispenser!" She growled, a tick of annoyance evident on her pale forehead.

"Yeah, about that," Natsu swallowed. "You're my mate. Not my girlfriend."

"Huh?" She asked, a hurt/confused expression on her delicate face.

"It's simple, Luce! Since i'm the son of a dragon, I have to choose a mate. Someone who'll I'll spend the rest of my life with and it can only be one person."

"Why one person?" Not that she was complaining...

"Dragons only have one mate. Now that i've got you, I can't have another...Not that i'd want anyone else anyway! I love you!" The pinkette shouted, throwing his hands up in the air.

Lucy looked at him, a wide grin slapping itself on her face. In seconds tears were slithering down her face, alarming Natsu.

"Luce...? Did...did I say something wrong?" He jumped to her side, trying to get her to stop crying.

Lucy began to giggle and wiped the tears away.

"I love you, Natsu. I really do..." Lucy smiled, leaning into him, placing a small kiss on his chapped lips. Natsu grunted, weaving his arms around her waist, holding her close to his body.

"THEY LIKE EACH OTHER! THEY LIKE EACH OTHER! I KNEEEEEWWWWW IIIIITTTTTT!" Someone screamed outside the diner. The couple looked over, laughing as Happy flew around the other exceeds, Levy and Gajeel, screaming.

"Happy! Come join us! Lucy brought lots of food!" Natsu laughed, making room for the blue ball of excitement.

Lucy raised a questioning eyebrow to Gajeel, then Levy who blushed in return, giving the answer to Lucy's un-asked question.

"Foooood~!" Happy squealed, rushing over to his foster fathers side... only to swerve into Lucy's bosom. The little blue cat raised his head and looked at Lucy with questioning eyes that began to tear up.

"Lucy...? Does...does this mean you're my foster mummy?" In return, Lucy pulled him tighter into her warm embrace, petting him softly.

"Yeah, Happy...it does..." Both Lucy and Natsu answered. There was a smacking sound in the background a few seconds later with someone shouting: "why aren't we like that?"

"I think we should go home, hm?" Natsu offered. Lucy's doe eyes looked at him questioningly. "Home..?"

"Well, duh, Luce! Our home! You're living with me and Happy now! Mate for life, remember?" Tears started falling from her face again, but this time, she tackled the salamander to the ground, holding on tight.

"Ah, why are you crying again?"

"Because I love you! Oh, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you!" She planted small kisses on his face. The annoyed tapping of the diner manager interrupted the two.

"A-hem..." Lucy rolled her eyes as she handed the man the money. She was slightly embarrassed at what she just did in front of a rather large crowd of people, but Natsu didn't mind. In fact, he scooped her up, bridal style, racing Happy to their home.

Natsu's, Lucy's and Happy's Home

"Yay! We're home!" Happy chimed, flying into the kitchen. Natsu finally let Lucy down, catching her when she lost her balance slightly.

"N-natsu...next time...don't-don't run so fast!"

"Aye! Hey, Luce! You wanna see our new bed~?!" The pinkette purred, thanks to Lucy's author mind, her thought turned rather dirty.

"N-new bed?" She squeaked, following him into the bedroom, gawking at what she saw.

Her eyes turned into flames as she suddenly caught fire with a dark aura.

"That's my bed. How did it get here...?"

"No. That's our bed! I got Erza to move it here for me!"

"Wh-wh-what!?"

"I'm sorry, Lucy. Natsu told me you agreed to this." Erza calmly walked into the room, followed by the shirtless Gray. Erza's brown eyes turned dark with annoyance as she stared down Natsu. "I wouldn't of done it, if I knew you didn't know about this." Almost instantly, Titania was on her knees in front of Lucy, smashing her head into the floor.

"Please forgive me, Lucy! Hit me as hard as you can!"

While Lucy was trying to calm down the Fairy Queen, Gray decided to have a chat with Natsu outside.

"You're an idiot, Candlestick!" Gray threw more ice shards to the fire mage.

"What the hell did I do, snow cone?"

The opposite elements clashed on as the boys continued their...errr...'chat'.

"Instead of just sleeping in her bed, you decided to steal it!?"

"I have my reasons, besides, why do you care, Icicle?"

With a large gust of ice, Natsu was blown off his feet, only to be tackled down. "Listen here, torchy. If you do much as make a tear fall from Lucy's eyes, not only me, but everyone else will come after you. Got that? Lucy is the only closest thing I have gotten to a sister," His eyes narrowed. "A little sister. I won't have you breaking her heart, Fire-butt."

Part 1 of Natsu's reply was a fiery kick to the gut, sending the ice mage across the back yard. Part 2 was a large grin and the line: "She's simply someone I can't do without, I love her. So what makes you think I won't take care of her, Snow globe?" Natsu challenged, getting ready to fight the darker haired male once again.

Later On...

"Thank Mavis they're gone!" Natsu groaned, flopping on his couch.

"They mean well, Natsu. Besides..." Lucy crawled on top of her dragon slayer. "Happy has gone to Carla's and I made sure Erza kept people away from here for a while..." She winked seductively. Hoping Natsu got her true meaning.

With a sly grin, Natsu rolled them over onto the floor, lightly pushing his lips to hers. The lanterns in the house went out and clothes littered the floor, trailing to the bedroom.

It was the start of something beautiful.

And that, my lovelies, is the end of this story...sadly. I just hope I ended it right :,( I had fun writing this story, though it had it's frustrations... but it's you guys that make it all worth it. With your reviewing and favorites, I have had more motivation to keep this going.
