DISCLAIMER: I DON'T HARRY POTTER. GINNY DOES

I just watched the fourth Harry Potter movie so now I have a ton of Harry/Ginny ideas for the Yule Ball. I will probably bug you guys to death, but I need to get these out of my head. I used this beginning in another of my fanfics, but there are differences... Thanks!

Ginny POV

So, Ron thinks I can't get a date for the Yule ball. I have made it my very special mission to prove him wrong. Now, to find guy, which I suppose is the first step. A boy a year or two older is ideal, just to anger Ron more. Hermione said she would happily help me because Ron is a git.

She constantly hangs out with only two guys, so she knows a little something about them. Especially Harry. Hermione and I have both been doing a lot of thinking on who would be most willing to be my date and Harry seems to be the only guy other than Ron struggling to find a date.

How to get Harry to notice me in that way is the problem. After how I acted at home when I saw him at the dining table two years ago, he probably thinks I am some crazy fan girl. I was petrified at the time! I am really not a fan girl. He is morre important to me than the crazy fans. But the whole 'Chamber of Secrets' thing didn't help my case. That was embarrassing and scarring.

Another problem was that Harry liked someone else. Harry's precious Cho Chang had turned him down, though. I don't think I could have been happier when Hermione told me that. Hermione keeps telling me to get over Harry and that he will probably never like me the way I like him. It took awhile, but I convinced her that I would get over him if he didn't ask me to the Yule ball. That's why I need a date. A backup in case he doesn't ask me, which he probably won't.

Maybe Cho Chang turning him down will actually be a good thing. Guys tend to turn to jealously to get a girls affection. It often doesn't work, but apparently many guys haven't figured that out.

Hermione told Neville about our little plan and he is on board as my back up, but I want to get a boy to ask me of their own free will. Which the chances of such seem to be running slim, seeing as the Yule ball is in only three days.

Hermione is going with Viktor Krum because, naturally, Ron was and is too stupid to ask her. He doesn't even know she has a date yet. He really is an idiot. It is going to be extremely entertaining when he finds out that she has a date and exactly who it is.

"Hermione, do you think Harry knows I exist?" That was such a typical question to ask, and again, not helping my crazy fan girl image I am trying to get rid of. Luckily, only Hermione was there to hear it. Hermione looked up from her book (shocking right?) and at me skeptically.

"Yes, I'm sure he does. He doesn't know that you and I talk on a regular basis and that we are friends. I could ask him and he probably won't be suspicious. He is a bit thick about, well… everything, actually" I love Hermione sometimes. She is so brilliant.

"Absolutely, do it!"

"Okay. I'll ask him next time Ronald isn't around. Otherwise, it would be disaster." I thanked her about a hundred times and then ran upstairs to wait. About ten minutes later, I heard Ron and Harry enter the common room.

Half an hour later, I was asking myself if Ron would ever leave. But, soon enough (or a half hour later) Ron went up to the boy's dormitory to bed. I lowered the Twins' extendable ear they got me so I could listen in on the conversation between Harry and Hemrione.

"So, got a date for the ball yet?" Subtle, Hermione, SUBTLE.

"No. No one will go with me. They probably think they will get killed by Voldemort if they go near me, let alone date me." Harry said, sounding exasperated and frustrated. Those two statements were potentially true, but I don't care. Why can't he see that? He is one of the most frustrating people I have ever met. Other than Ron.

"So, look for a girl who already likes you, who isn't afraid." Hermione explained like it as the most obvious thing in the world. Which it kind of was.

"There isn't one! That's the problem!" Harry quietly exclaimed. Hermione was right. He is thick. I always wondered why Hermione didn't like Harry. I guess I know why. But, then again, Ron is even thicker.

"Tell me one thing, Harry."

"What?"

"Do you like Ginny Weasley?"
