ENCHANTED

The two kids were very different, the boy was shy, new to this whole "school" thing.

The girl, very outgoing and friendly, was slumping into just another day at her high school.

The boy was tugging at his collar, also slumping into high school.

They were both less then thrilled to be here.

The boy looked down at his shoes, a perfect fit of pure Italian leather. Being the adoptive son of one of the richest men in the world had it's privileges!

The girl looked down at her wore out sneakers, that were supposed to be trashed three years ago. Being the daughter of a men on a detective's salary… you had to make some sacrifices. Besides, who wore nice shoes to public school?

A group of prissy's giggled as they strutted by.

The girl blew her bangs out her face in disgust. Oh yeah, those girls do.

The two - so emerged in their thoughts, paid no attention to their surroundings. Or others around them. Or if they were right in the line of someone else's walking distance.

SMACK.

The two groaned and rubbing their heads. The boy felt a bump coming, and the girl dido.

The boy popped open his blue eyes and stared at the female he bumped into. Wow… He thought.

The girl, well, dido.

The girl giggled and extended her hand, "Hi… I'm Barbra. Sorry I-"

"Bumped into you? Same. I'm Dick." the boy took her hand and shook it. Dick stood up and offered a hand, Com'on, we're gonna be late for class."

Barb took his hand, and as soon as she did, a little something happened in her stomach.

Call it butterflies, call it a spark, Barbara shoved it aside and called it never-eat-leftovers-for-breakfast.
