Hey, Lovelies!

So sorry it's been forever... literally forever...

and that was just the last few months!

I'm back, in black!

and I hope no one's given up on this story because I haven't! ;)

I haven't had time to look at this chapter thoroughly, because I really want to get it up here before work!

enjoy!

Something New Chp. 9

The owner of the striking blue eyes strides toward me.

He stands in front of me, only the thick wooden table occupies the space between us.

He raises an eyebrow, "Katniss, always a pleasure." He smirks. "Seat taken?"

I roll my eyes, "Just sit down, you dork." Peeta moves with ease, baring his teeth through a smile.

The bell rings as soon as he's seated. The teacher, Mrs. Sae, though everyone calls her Greasey Sae because she always looks so caught up in her art she doesn't have time to wash her hair.

"Welcome everyone, to Sculpting 1... This will be a class of information, of learning, of deepening your mind to a true understand of yourself..." Mrs. Sae rants. I roll my eyes, "Sure sure, the only understanding I need is why they let in talented bimbos like Glimmer, and Clove in to this school..." I groan in my head.

"First you will start with this..." Sae holds up a tub of Playdough the size of her head, while pulling a sheet off of more tubs hidden magician style. She motions for everyone to grab their tubs as well as aprons.

I'm about to get up as Peeta grabs my shoulder holding me back,

"No, let me." He smiles.

You know what, sure. "Normally, I would say no, but with a shitty day like today I'll let you slide." I tease but it comes out more like I groan. With an afternoon let like this I don't mind letting Peeta do something for me.

He gives me a sincere smile, not reaching his eyes, you could almost see the slightest hint of worry in his them if you look hard enough, or new him well.

It only takes him three strides to get across the room, as he turns on his way back, Mrs. Sae starts another soliloquy...

"Alright, my young caterpillars... Empty your tub of Playdough on to your wooden tables.."

Peeta is back with two aprons and a tub of Forest Green, and one that's simply Pink...

He slides me the Forest Green across the table as he takes his seat, and I raise an eyebrow.

He shrugs, "They were out of orange, and besides real mean use pink anyway..." He winks.

I try stifle my laugh as Sae continues...

"For our first week we will use this," *holds up her own light blue Playdough* "to mould, pinch, pull, flatten, and so on, into whatever your heart desires, this excise allows you to get comfortable with your hands, with the substance, really push your energies into your work..." Sae's arms are now pushed out in front her, head down mirroring a bow almost.

The room is quiet for a beat..

"Begin!" She snaps back up.

The students in the front row jump slightly, everyone is still looking wide eyes at Sae, including myself.

"I said begin!" Sae says quiter but more forceful..

finally, everyone decides to move.

I empty out the tub of Playdough in front of me,

"How am I supposed to turn this into something?" I think to myself.

I loo love to Peeta, he has his brows scrunched together in the middle, hand on his chin with his thumb extended on his jaw, and pointer finger grazes across his bottom lip.

He looks focused, and totally sexy.

My face heats up, and I look back to my chunk of Playdough.

Then, it comes to me.

I zip open my backpack and tug a piece a loose leaf from a folder.

I use quick light movements across the page, I've only ever seen a couple of these creatures, but how could I ever forget them?

It takes me half an hour before I'm finally happy with results,

I look up and brush the loose strands from my face, and an amused looking Peeta is watching me.

I check him out, apron off, Playdough disappeared, packed up bag on his shoulders, and one singular eyebrow raised, not to mention the way his arms are crossed showing his flexed biceps through his thin shirt.

I tear my eyes from Peeta, it practically takes all of my might, and look around and notice everyone mirrors Peeta, bags packed, Playdough disappeared, I take a glance at clock…

Five minutes left? Last I checked we had half the class period…

I look to Peeta and he's trying to hide his amusement behind his pointer finger that stroking his bottom lip… He's way too sexy to be sharing an art table with me.

I exhale, "At least this afternoon is almost over…" I mumble as I get up and head to put my stuff away, ready to get out of my sticky shirt.

I gather up all my stuff and take it to the storage shelf in two minutes.

By the time, I'm back to my seat Peeta is tapping his pencil against the wooden table impatiently.

I slouch into my seat, and put my bag onto the desk.

"Rough first day?" He chuckles at my composure.

*the bell rings*

The class rises, Sae waves at us, promising to see us tomorrow as we walk out the door.

"Something like that…" I mumble sounding unintentionally irritated.

Peeta walks with me all the way to my locker which is in the music building, the next building over.

I'm too tired to really keep up a conversation.

"How about some dinner, Kat?" Peeta asks trying to help cheer me up.

"Thanks Peeta, that's really nice of you—" I shut my locker and turn towards him. "I'm currently wearing a Venti Soy Latte on my torso, so I think I'm just going to head back to my room, shower and cuddle up to an 80's marathon…"

Peeta's brows meet in the middle, but he's still wearing a polite smile.

"Alright, rain check then?" He smiles a little bit more.

I nod. "Sure, Peeta."

I walk away, feeling pitiful.
