I am making so many new stories this week! Actually I am just trying to get a bunch of them done before I go back to my father's house. Anyway, here is another cute/funny one-shot for all of you.
Auntie Legolas
It was a very nice day in Rivendell. There was a slight breeze, and the sun shined brightly. Legolas was coming over to visit. He had heard that Elrond had adopted a young human. He wanted to see him right away of course, but time seemed to slip away from him so easily. So here he was almost four years later to see the boy called Estel.
He had arrived at the last (or first, since he had come from Mirkwood) homely house, and was told that the child was out practicing with a bow and arrows in the forest. At first Legolas was shocked to hear that they let a six year old near weapons, until he remembered that humans grew faster than elves. Still he was a bit surprised that he had been left alone in the woods, and he said this to Elrond, who laughed and told him that Elladan and Elrohir were with him.
So now Legolas was walking around the forest that surrounded the valley, looking for his two best friends, and a six year old boy.
"Elladan! Elrohir! Estel!" he called. He did not want to be unnoticed, and be hit with any arrows. He listened very carefully, hoping to hear the twang of a bowstring, or some other noise. Knowing the twin brothers like he did, he figured that they would try to scare him. After a minute or so, he heard the sound of loud footsteps. They were still far off, and too heavy to be an elf's. He figured that it must be Estel. He stood there, waiting, until the child was in sight.
He was tall for his age, or at least Legolas thought he was, and had dark brown hair. His eyes were very blue, and he looked like he had elvish blood in him. At the sight of the elf, he stopped.
"Who are you? You called my name, and I came. But how did you know my name? I don't know you."
Legolas had to hold back a laugh. This child was certainly full of questions, "I am Legolas, and I assume that you are-"
"Are you my aunt?" Estel interrupted.
The elf was unsure if this child was being serious. H did not know how to respond to this. The silence grew longer, "No, I am not your aunt. I am not even a maiden."
The child scrunched up his face in confusion, "Yes, you are my aunt. Come with me, I must tell Elladan and Elrohir!" with this he grabbed Legolas' hand and began to half lead half drag him to where the two elves were waiting. he looked up and smiled at them, "This is my aunt! Her name is Auntie Legolas!"
The two elves burst out laughing, "Your aunt? When did this happen Legolas?"
Legolas glared at them, "What did you tell him? Why does he think I am a woman? Why does he think I am his aunt?"
"We don't know, honestly, we haven't the slightest idea where he got that idea."
It is true They didn't say that. But I just thought you were." Estel looked ashamed.
Now Legolas felt bad. He decided to try to make the boy feel better, "It is okay Estel. If you really want to, you can call me Auntie Legolas."
Estel, who was later known as Aragorn, did call him that for a while. And in some small way Legolas paid him back for it by telling that story to all of the ranger's friends.
