Random one-shot I wrote in fifteen minutes in an effort to procrastinate. I really (x100) do not want to study.

Disclaimer: Bleach is not mine.

Ichigo, being the unlucky carrot he was, spent his morning standing outside in the rain in his pajamas and waiting for the fire department to show up.

"I'm really sorry," Isshin said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

"Sorry?" Karin repeated. "You burned down half our house!"

Yuzu buried her head in her hands.

"Yuzu was crying!" Isshin defended himself. "I tried to cheer her up!"

"By burning down the house?" Ichigo roared, his temper flaring.

"I was trying to make the fire dance in the stove," he mumbled.

"Yuzu wasn't crying," Karin said, narrowing her eyes. "She was cutting up onions."

"I wonder if the insurance will cover this," Isshin wondered randomly.

Karin snorted. "The insurance company hates us."

"How did the fire start, anyway?" Ichigo questioned. "I mean, I get the fire dancing part – wait, no I don't get that part, but how the hell did a stove fire burn down half the house?"

"He accidentally knocked over the cooking oil," Yuzu said, still hiding her face.

"Sorry," Isshin repeated. "I didn't mean to."

Yuzu finally raised her read. Her hood did nothing to protect her face from the rain.

"OH NO! Yuzu is crying!" Isshin gathered Yuzu into a big hug. "Let daddy give you a hug! There, there, daddy is here, it's going to be okay."

Karin kicked his butt. "That's the rain, you idiot!"

"Dad." Yuzu got her breath back. "You… You shouldn't play with fire anymore."

"Got it," Isshin said sincerely.

A fire truck parked in the curb, the firemen already hoisting up their hoses.

"And just because it's Father's Day, let's all forget this ever happened," Yuzu said.

"I have such nice daughters," Isshin sobbed. He hugged Yuzu again – this time, with Karin.

Ichigo rolled his eyes and watched as the firemen – some of them fathers themselves – doused the fire. Most of him wished he had a normal father, but a tiny spark of fire dancing in the corner of his mind insisted that his dad was the best out of all of them.

He smiled.

Happy Father's Day!

The last part was lame, I know.
