Sora had never been so happy.

It was a quiet night. Riku, Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka had all left the Play Island early today, leaving Sora and Kairi to themselves. They had talked a bit, but had finally settled down on their old log, giving them a perfect view of the ocean and the sunset.

The sight was breathtaking. The sun was sinking below the horizon, casting a tangerine reflection across the calm blue water. High above, pink and purple-tinted clouds floated lazily across the sky, in which the first stars were just beginning to twinkle.

"I'm so glad you're home..." Kairi smiled blindingly, and something in Sora's chest jumped. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

She stared out to sea, wide eyes shining, red hair ebbing and flowing about her shoulders, the ghost of a smile curving her lips.

Sora nodded, blue eyes never leaving her face.

"Yeah."
