I was warm and cold all at the same time. My breath was loud but it was silent. It was hard to move. I was in the ground. Slowly, I began to emerge from the dirt around me. The sun was bright. I felt different. Where was I? Russell. He had been eating my heart.

I looked around slowly. I'm in the graveyard. The soil next to me was loose. It had been dug recently.

"Oh my god, Aline." Sookie was in front of me, her hands on my face. "Holy shit it worked."

"What happened?" I croaked, my voice dry. She opened the bottle beside her and gave it to me. I drank it thirstily. It was the most delicious thing I had ever had. "More."

"There's more." I drank several more bottles before inspecting it. True Blood. "Sookie," I said quietly.

"Godric turned you when he found you. We didn't think it had worked, it's been a week. We've been taking turns waiting. Godric has slept here every night since." She stared at me. "You're a daywalker."

"I guess so." I tried to smell. "I can't smell like I used to."

"I'm guessing you lost your were powers," she said. "We won."

"Casualties?"

"Some younger vamps and halflings. And you." I pulled myself out of the ground. I was still wearing those clothes. I had liked these clothes. "It'll be dark in an hour. I'm going to call Alcide, will you be okay?"

I nodded, sitting beside the makeshift graves. While she called Alcide, I looked around. Everything was...different. The colors were brighter. The sun was warmer. The scents were different. I held my hands in front of me, trying to conjure an ice ball. It appeared more quickly than it had when I was alive. I turned it to water, dousing myself to get some of the dirt off.

Sookie was watching me curiously. "So you still have fae powers. Weird."

"Apparently fae and vampires are more compatible than they thought." I twisted some water out of my hair. "What happened?"

"Well, after you killed Maab, Edgington ate your heart. Godric and Salome killed Edgington. Your blood was more than he could handle. It was like he was on LSD. He just began screaming and hallucinating. It was very weird."

"Good," I said, satisfied. She grinned.

"Then Godric took your body. Kaelin tried to insist you get a proper fae burial but Godric wanted to try to turn you. Nahla convinced Kaelin to let Godric try. And since then we've been waiting. People have largely returned to where they belong. Kaelin took over Maab's kingdom, too, from what Bahari has told us. Michael was called back home, but he did leave his sword here. Apparently you broke it when Maab's blood touched it. Eric has it at the house. Alcide and Jackson are staying there, waiting. We've all just been waiting. Either in Shreveport or here."

It was dusk by the time she finished speaking. The dirt Godric was resting in began to move. It slowly gave way to him. He looked disoriented for a few moments before looking beside him. He was surprised. His emerald eyes locked with mine. Then he was in front of me, using vampire speed. Except now I could clearly see each movement. He kissed me, hard. My fangs extended, drawing his blood.

"Sorry," I began to apologize, he waved me away, pulling me close to him.

"It is natural," he breathed, inhaling my scent. "I was afraid I had lost you."

"Guess I broke my promise, huh?" I pulled away from him, studying his face. "Does this mean you're keeping me forever?"

"If that's what you want."

"Forever," I smiled. He kissed me again.

Sookie cleared her throat.

"Sorry, Sook," I laughed.

"I mean, you have been dead for a week but, still, get a room," she teased me. "I have my car, everyone's waiting at home." We nodded, Godric clutching my hand.

When we got to the house, Alcide and Jackson were waiting on the porch with Eric, Nahla, and Bahari. Everyone took turns hugging me, making sure that I was alright. Well, as much as I can be.

We had won, I reflected. I mean, I died but everyone I cared about lived. And I guess I'm a vampire now? That'll take some getting used to. I guess I'm not part of a werewolf pack any more. Do I have to sleep? Will I always be immune to sunlight? I had so many questions but I doubted they could be answered very easily. I didn't know of any other hybrids. I mean, I've always been a hybrid. Just not this kind. This is new territory. But I have eternity to figure this out now.

Author's note: I know, it's been forever since I updated this. But I finally decided to complete it. I always planned on having Aline become a vampire in the end. I hope you enjoyed it, it's finally done! Sorry for how long that took to finish. Life happens. :)
