HEY GUYS! SO...I'mincrediblysorryfortheextremelylateupdatedu etofamilystuffpersonallifeshitandsuch. Also I had a wicked case of Writers Block but I'm going to try and update once a week. Also I know this chapter is short, it's actually been done for a while now. ENJOY!
"Tony? Tony, come on. Get up."
Tony opened his eyes, confusion written all over his face. What was going on? When he went to sleep he was in a cave and now he's in a tropical place with Emmy waking him up? Was the cave all a bad dream? As he sat up, he looked around more, the blue ocean right outside, all he had to do was walk onto the patio. Then he saw her walking up, she was in a electric blue bikini, her curls flowing in the wind, her perfect smile placed upon her face.
He got up and walked over to meet her half way, this felt so real but, at the same time he wasn't sure if it was a dream. As he stopped in front of Emmy he could see her smile falter a bit and was replaced with confusion. An expression that was no doubt mirroring his own.
"Tony? What's wrong?"
"What's going on?"
"I'm lost."
"Yesterday, I was in a cave, I had this thing implanted in my chest to keep me alive and now I'm...where are we?"
"Bora Bora."
"Okay, now I'm in Bora Bora. Doesn't that seem a bit strange to you?"
"Honestly, Tony. I work for you. And you want me to tell you if something seems a bit strange?" Emmy couldn't help but laugh a bit.
'Tony'
Tony whipped his head around at the sound of his name, it was a man's voice. The voice he had been hearing for about a month and half. Panic quickly set in as he looked back at Emmy, her beautiful smile on her face once again. He reached up a hand and placed it on her cheek.
"Please, I don't want this to end." He said in a low whisper.
And as Emmy began to fade he knew he was waking up, waking up to a place he didn't want to be. Waking up to a cave that was dark and dank. But worse of all, he wasn't anywhere near Emmy. He slowly opened his eyes to see Yinsen looking down at him. Eyes full of concern and worry.
"Tony, are you alright? You kept repeating a name."
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I'm sorry if I woke you doing that."
"No, no you didn't. Who is she?"
"Someone I hope to see very soon."
"Do you love her?"
The question struck him like he had been struck by lightning. No one had ever asked that before and to be honest he was caught off guard. As he looked up at this man that he calls a friend a small smile played on his face as his eyes began to glisten.
"More than anything in the world."
Yinsen smiled at Tony "Well then, let's make sure you get back to her. Have you told her yet?"
Tony's smile faded "I wish I told her a long time ago."
"Well the important thing is to tell her when you see her again."
"You sure that's going to happen?"
"Of course I am. You're plan is fool proof. We'll be seeing our families soon enough."
Before Tony could say anything back, the door flew open as familiar men came in, walking right towards him. One guy shoved the car battery into Tony's arms and a sack placed over his head. He was being guided outside or at least that's what he had hoped. And once the hood was removed, his eyes stung at the light. It had been a while since he had seen the outside.
As he looked around he saw a lot of his weapons. His weapons in the hands of terrorists. How in the world did they get his weapons? That was the question that kept running through his head as he was being lead down the small hill. A larger man in weight was in front of him, a fake smile on his face and talking in a language he didn't recognize. But, Yinsen was right next to him translating.
"They have everything you need to build the Jericho missile. And then they will let you go."
He thought about it for a second. If he did it that would mean they would have the most powerful weapon he has created thus far. And if he didn't, he was dead. He plastered a fake smile on his face, his hand extending out for the other man to take it and as he did, a smile on the other man's face, he felt a bit of him dying.
"No, he wont."
"No he wont." Yinsen echoed.
And after that exchange outside, the last time he was out there, he was given the haunting thought that he had to build this missile for them or never see Emmy again. If that last thought was even an option. As he felt his body be pushed into a room and the hood removed he went and sat down, Yinsen sat next to him.
He tried to listen to him but, what was he to do? His hands were tied. 'Is this the last piece of legacy for the great, Tony Stark? Or are you going to fight?'
His head snapped over to Yinsen, a man he barely knew, a man who had lost everything; was trying so desperately to get him to fight. To get him to believe he can leave and go home. But he was right. He couldn't let this be his last project. He had to fight. He couldn't let anyone people die at the expense of his weapons.
"Let's fight."
Yinsen smiled and nodded "Let's get to work then"
Tony began to make a list of demands for tools, equipment stations, whatever Yinsen can use. A computer. Everything he would need to make what he needed to make to escape home.
Emmy entered Tony's house, well her's for the time being. Staying there gave her more comfort than anything. But she didn't feel comforted, she felt sad, broken, almost dead. It had been nearly two months since Tony went missing and for two months she felt herself slowly slipping away. Her dreams were the only things that gave her hope.
They were beautiful dreams. Her last one was with him on a beach in Fiji and they were just sitting on the beach. It was bliss. It was heaven. She felt safe there. But in the real world, she would show up for work every day, take care of things and then go home. She barely spoke to people unless she needed to. Obadiah was insistent that she take a leave of absence and let him run the company. But she didn't trust him at all.
She walked slowly over to the couch and sat down. Her eyes taking in the house. J.A.R.V.I.S. had welcomed her home which she gave a warm smile to his voice and said hello to him back. He kept her company but she knew that even though he was a program, he too missed Tony. Sighing and sitting back on the couch, she replayed every memory she had of her and Tony in her head. They meant so much to each other but neither knew just how much.
She was pulled from her memories as the front door closed, her eyes looking up and seeing Rhodey walking towards her, a smile on his face. "James? What is it? Have you found him?"
"No, but, we've got a lead. I'm heading out tomorrow morning."
She couldn't control her excitement as she threw her arms around him. Her body shook with glee as did Rhodey. Tony was going to be coming home soon.
