Steve Rogers X Tony Stark
It was late and the new energy reactor Tony was working on wasn't working with him. Everything he tried had blown up in his face and he couldn't figure out why. It didn't help much that Steve was watching from behind the whole time. This made Tony under more pressure and made him increasingly more nervous than he should have been. Steve didn't quite understand what he was working on, or what it was supposed to do, but he quite aware that it had failed with Tony's unsatisfied sighs. This consistent string of failures was causing Tony to drink heavily throughout the process, possibly leading to his failures.
"It doesn't seem to be working Tony; maybe you should take a break." Tony turned and looked at him, a bit too aggravated.
"Do you know what I'm doing? Do you understand any of this? I didn't think so, go make yourself useful and get me another drink." He went back to tinkering with different parts.
"I may not understand what it is or what it's supposed to do, but I do know when it's not working, this isn't worth your patience Tony," Steve stood up and went to fix Tony a drink, "You need the little patience you have left."
"Excuse me?" Tony stopped working and stood up facing Steve, this shocked him a bit.
"The only thing you've been succeeding at is testing your patience and getting drunk. You're not working well in any account." Steve stayed behind the counter holding Tony's drink.
"This is a process, it's all a process and without failure you can't get anywhere, you try, fail and learn from your mistakes, which I don't make often, but this is difficult Steve." He walked forward stumbling a bit gaining stability from the couch and then continuing to the bar, "And I'm not drunk."
"And that? That wasn't drunk?" Steve handed him his drink and crossed his arms.
"I tripped, it happens." He took a swish of whatever was in his cup and looked at Steve. Steve developed a smirk after watching Tony's wide-eyed reaction to the beverage, "What is this?"
"Ginger Ale Tony, you've had enough tonight."
"Don't tell me when I've had enough…"
"No…" Tony tried to push past Steve behind the counter to get a better drink, but Steve easily overpowered Tony in his drunken state and carried him over to the couch bridal style. "You need rest Tony."
"Not here I don't, if you're going to take me anywhere at least take me to my room."
"You're impossible." Steve smiled and carried Tony down the hall to his bedroom and laid him on his bed. "Better?"
"It's definitely more comfortable here, but are you sure I won't just get up and go back to the bar?"
"Would you rather I stayed here and watched you for the night?"
Tony looked back at the bed, "It is big enough if you wanted to join me."
Steve laughed. It was like arguing with a child, but he just couldn't win. "If that's what makes you happy then I'll stay with you."
"Oh I don't mind either way, I just thought that you wanted to keep me out of trouble." Tony turned, closing his eyes and crossing his arms.
Steve smiled. He leaned forward and kissed Tony on the cheek. "Then it's time for bed Tony."
