"Why do I love him?"
Prussia asks himself this question every day.
"Why him, of all people?"
It scares him to think that just one person has so much control over him. His heart, his mind, his mouth; all of them seem to lose control and fly away when he's around him.
But why?
Is it because his eyes are so kind and beautiful that they could make anyone's heart melt? Is it that sweet, reassuring smile that can calm him down in an instant? Is it those soft, warm lips that brush against this cheek, his nose, his neck when he's feeling playful?
Maybe it's not really any of those things at all, though they're all very nice. Maybe it's because he knows what it's like to be ignored by the world. He knows how it feels to be lonely and broken.
As a dissolved country, love was the last thing he expected to find, especially in someone so different from himself. Where Prussia was loud and confident, he was soft-spoken and always unsure of himself. Maybe it was their differences that made them so compatible for each other. Prussia had learned to control himself better, and he was learning to speak up more often.
If anything, they were truly perfect for each other. They made up for each other's weaknesses. Prussia knew that one day, the world would notice them, and he knew it, too. Together, they were strong. Together, they would stand up and give a big "fuck you" to the rest of the world.
That was why he loved him. That was why they were perfect.
That was why Prussia and Canada would happily be together for a very, very long time.
A/N: Just a sweet little oneshot. People ask me why I like PruCan so much, and I guess this kinda sums it up.
