I did it on hard, and used James :)

Summary: James Potter was never friends with Scorpius Malfoy. His younger brother, Albus, was always intrigued with the boy, but James couldn't care less. Until the day he pushed him in a pond and he almost died. For the step by step Drabble challenge.

Friends? With a Malfoy?

James Potter was never friends with Scorpius Malfoy. His younger brother, Albus, was always intrigued with the boy, but James couldn't care less. Until the day he pushed him in a pond and he almost died.

It was late October, and the air was chilly. All five kids, James, Albus, their little sister, Lily, Scorpius, and Scorpius's little sister Naomi we're kicked out of Hogwarts and refused to go to another Magic school, so they went to Muggle School. Scorpius and Naomi were living with the Potters.

School was out, so Mrs. Potter kicked the five children outside since it was a nice day. They decided to play tackle football (much to Lily and Naomi's protests). The game was going on for about an hour when James decided to push Scorpius into the pond that was in the Potter's backyard.

"Bloody Hell, James! He can't swim!" Albus yelled at his brother while his best friend was trying to get above water. James froze for a few seconds, then jumped into the pond to get him; he dragged him out onto the grass, and Scorpius was coughing immensely. Naomi looked scared, and Lily wrapped her arms around her hugging the younger girl tightly.

A few days later, James went into visit a very ill Scorpius, in his room, "Hey Mate, I'm sorry that I pushed you into the pond; I wouldn't have if I knew you couldn't swim,"

Scorpius, who couldn't talk, just nodded, and James put his hand out, "Friends?"

Scorpius put his hand in James' and nodded. And that's how James Potter and Scorpius Malfoy started a friendship, turns out all that they needed was time and a pond.
