Coming soon: "The Road Not Taken"

This took me sooooo much longer than I thought it would. But if anyone is interested, I'm going to be posting the first chapter of the last story in my Onslaught series in the near future. It's going to be a sort of adapted version of the 3rd X-Men movie (Last Stand), but only very roughly because I like to pretend that movie doesn't exist. I saw it once when it came out and haven't seen it since, so literally I'm going to include maybe two of the plot points I remember. Here's a brief preview:

Magneto and the Brotherhood had kept themselves busy in the two years since stopping Onslaught and Stryker. Mystique walked into the room Magneto had claimed in their latest headquarters.

"Is it done?" the Brotherhood leader asked without looking up.

"We won't be hearing from Mr. Zane again."

"Very good. You're dismissed until the briefing."

His second in command left with a stiff nod. Erik returned his attention to the engineer standing beside him once the door was shut.

"And this machine will do as I asked?"

"According to my calculations, it should magnify your power at least tenfold."

"Excellent. When can construction begin?"

"As soon as you give it the okay. We have a factory picked out in Nebraska. It's large enough that it should be able to house the machine at the center with plenty of space around it to set up defenses. There's enough rubble surrounding it that it won't be obvious when we bring in more supplies."

"Begin work immediately. Charles has had a monopoly on power-amplifying technology for long enough. It's time for a change."

Posting will be a lot more sporadic than before because I'm still missing chunks of the story that I need to figure out how I'm going to handle, but I do have the first two-ish chapters mostly done. First chapter should be posted within a week. Also, the semester doesn't end until the end of April, so writing this is going to depend on how much time and energy I have after I finish school stuff. Lame, I know. If only I could get paid to write fanfiction. Alas. Anyway, so so sorry again to those who were waiting forever. I truly appreciate anyone who follows me to the next story, even if it's just two people :)
