Don't own show just my characters!

Come about five-thirty, Carrie had a decision to make send Jake to his best friend's birthday party or keep him home just so she wouldn't have to go bowling herself. But when the phone rang and it was Michelle on the other end asking if she should swing by to pick up Jake or not Carrie took one look at her little boy and knew she couldn't keep him from the party. So that's why at this moment in time she's standing in a line waiting to get a pair of bowling shoes so that she can bowl with her colleagues from work and Elaine. Carrie's only benefit was the fact that no more than five lanes down from them was little Kevin Francis' birthday party and Jake was in sight the whole time.

"Hey Carrie, it's your turn to bowl" stated Nina

"Huh...oh right," replied Carrie

"What's up with you? You seem a little distracted," asked Mike noticing the far off look on her face

"I guess I'm not fully over the flu at the moment," stated Carrie

"Okay" replied Mike and Nina

"Okay, by the way it's actually Al's turn not mine. I go after Roe who bowls after Al and since Mike just went that means its Al's go," stated Carrie proving to them all that she was still paying attention to them

"Show off" replied Roe.

As for the other end, Carrie noticed a certain little boy start to get a little short of breathe and knew that something wasn't right, yet there was nothing that she could do about it.

"Missus Francis, I don't feel so well," stated Jake

"Okay, why don't you come and sit down Jake?" said Michelle patting the seat next to her

"But it's my turn?" pointed out Jake

"I know, we'll just skip you better yet, mister Francis will go for you," answered missus Francis

"Honey that's not..." started mister Francis

"Please John; he's a little winded at the moment" pleaded Michelle

"Okay fine" answered John. That gave Michelle the time she needed to check the little guy over and make sure that he was okay.

"You want something to eat or drink Jake?" asked Michelle

"Drink, please" answered Jake

"Okay, how about you and me go and get one from the snack bar together," replied Michelle

"Okay," answered Jake. Upon seeing that Carrie excused herself to go to the snack bar herself to get another drink, just in order to see how everything was going.

As Michelle looked up while she and Jake were heading to the snack bar, she caught sight of Carrie walking towards them and the snack bar.

"Excuse me can I get an..." started Michelle upon getting the vendors attention

"Ginger ale, please" asked Jake looking at Missus Francis

"One ginger ale and five apple juices for lane twelve" stated Missus Francis upon getting Jake's answer

"Okay and for you miss?" asked the snack vendor towards Carrie

"Another round for lane seven" responded Carrie

"Okay it'll just take a few minutes. You both okay with waiting or should I just call you when your orders up?" asked the snack vendor

"I can wait," responded Carrie

"Same here" replied Michelle. Carrie hoped that the guys would catch on and that somebody would just go for her.

Instead of letting Roe, call out to her that it was her actual turn Al told them that he would go get her so that it wouldn't disrupt everybody else in the bowling alley. As he was approaching, he heard Carrie and the other woman talking and as much as he didn't want to interrupt, he had to.

"Hey Carrie, it's your turn" called Al as he approached her

"Oh...thanks Al. I'll be there in just a minute, I was just waiting on the..." started Carrie

"Don't worry I'll get them you just go back and bowl" replied Al

"Okay," replied Carrie. Who was definitely not okay with the idea of Al waiting around at the snack bar with Michelle and Jake. While waiting there with the woman and small child Al for some reason felt as if he knew the child even though he has never met him before. Sure enough just as he was about to ask the woman something the little boy uncontrollable brought up all over Al's pants leg and shoes.

"I'm so sorry; let me get you something to..." started Michelle

"Here's some paper towel ma'am, don't worry about the floor I'll clean that up in just a second" replied the snack vendor

"Okay thanks and again I'm really sorry about that..." Michelle apologized again

"Al, Al Burns. Don't worry about it, stuff like that happens," replied Al letting her know he was fine

"Yeah...I know this little man was doing better. He's my son's best friend and he was well enough to come to his party but I think all the bowling and running around was too much for him," replied Michelle a little shocked by finding out that this guy is Jake's dad

"I guess it was and don't worry about the pants or shoes. I can get them clean myself just take care of the little one," replied Al

"I will and once again I am truly sorry," replied Michelle. With that said Michelle grabbed Jake and their order of ginger ale and apple juices and headed back over to their small group. As for Al, he grabbed the round of drinks and took the dreaded walk back towards his group.

"Hey boss what happened to you back there?" asked Mike

"If you must know a little boy who isn't feeling well brought up all down the front of me," answered Al

"Man that must suck" remarked Roe

"Yeah and does it ever reek please boss sit all the way down there" added Nina

"I second that" added Mike

"Same here. Better yet, why don't we just call it a night Al?" asked Carrie

"We could but that would mean that Elaine and I win," answered Al

"No it doesn't Al. While you were over there being brought up on by the little boy, I threw three strikes, which put Roe, Nina, Mike and myself! ahead of you and Elaine to win the game" stated Carrie

"Which means boss, we can all go home now" stated Nina

"As well as being crowned the reigning champs for the second time in a week" added Roe

"Whatever, one last drink for the road?" asked Al

"None, for me. I got a busy day ahead of me tomorrow need a clear head," stated Carrie

"Yeah, sleeping in. Doesn't count as a busy day" remarked Roe

"Wouldn't you wish, I actually have plans. Things that I need to get done," replied Carrie

"Okay then, see you Monday" replied Mike

"Yep, bright and early", with that said Carrie was out of her bowling shoes and on her way to the desk to drop off her shoes and take off for home or at least a block away to await the phone call from Michelle to pick-up Jake. Not thinking in her rush to get out of the bowling alley that she had left her phone behind, it wasn't until she had gotten into her car and looked down to make sure she had everything that she realized it wasn't there.
