J.K. Rowling gets complete credit for everything but the plot.

"Mummy!" a tiny voice calls from down the corridor. In the master bedroom, a petite woman with fire engine red hair sits up grumbling. The man stirs and reaches out to stop her.

"I'll take care of this Gin. You go back to sleep." His voice is deep and scratch from sleep.

"That's all right Harry. I don't have to be up early; you do." She whispers. Ginny drags herself out of bed just as a loud clap of vicious thunder roared through the night sky. Wrapping her body in the cotton nightdress hanging by the door, she heads down the corridor silently until she reaches a door to the left-hand side. In the center of the door hangs a pink sign that read 'Lily Luna' in silver cursive letters.

Ginny opens the door and peeks in to find her two year old daughter standing up in her crib. The young girl's ginger hair flies around her head in soft waves down to her shoulders. In the dim light from the corridor, Ginny can see Lily's eyes are rimmed red from crying, and she had wet tear tracks streaming down her chubby cheeks. Upon the sight of her mother, Lily bounces up and down smiling happily.

Ginny walks over to Lily with outstretched arms. "What's wrong Lil' Snitch?"

Even with her tears, Lily giggles as Ginny scoops her out of the crib. Lily cuddles against her mother's warm chest and closes her eyes contentedly. Overhead, thunder roars. Lily squeals. "Mummy! Mummy! Scary noise! Me sweep wif you!"

"It's just a bit of thunder Snitch. Nothing to be afraid of." Ginny whispers into Lily's hair.

"Scary!" Lily insists.

"All right, you can come sleep with Mummy and Daddy." Quietly, the two pad back to the master bedroom.

Harry rolls over in bed when he hears the door open. "What's up?" he says.

"Thunder. She's a little frightened." Ginny explains. "She's going to sleep in here tonight."

"Daddy!" Lily screeches and reaches out for Harry.

"Shh Lily, James an Al are sleeping. We need to be quiet." Ginny reprimands gently and lets Lily down on the floor where the little girl runs across the room to her dad.

Harry gathers her into his arms and drops her on the mattress. She giggles. Another clap of the thunder rolls above accompanied by a brilliant flash of lightening causing Lily's laughter to subside abruptly, and she cries once more.

"Lily, you're all right, it's only a storm. Thunder won't hurt you." Harry consoles her.

Lily however was not to be persuaded. She kept her face hidden in Ginny pillow. Harry and Ginny share a look of amusement. Harry shrugs, and Ginny climbs under the comforters. When she picks Lily up, they see that their daughter has her eyes closed and her breathing is slowing down to the steady place of a sleeping person. Ginny cautiously brushes Lily's hairs off her face and give her a feather light kiss on the forehead. " Goodnight Snitch."
