A/n: Ah, we haven't had a Takumi POV in a long time :P
Third Person POV
Misaki opened her eyes the next morning to find Usui staring at her intently. He was leaning on his hand, his elbow resting on the pillow. He had his usual teasing, but charming look in his eyes, and he was smiling slightly, as if mesmerized by looking at her.
Misaki almost fell off the bed. She shot up into a sitting position and was about to yell at him and only then remembered that she had invited him to sleep the night yesterday.
She still felt the need to somehow yell at him so… "How long were you staring at me, you creeper?!"
He chuckled and sat up. "Ayuzawa, are you always this utterly baffled in the mornings?"
"Shut up," she said, an immediate blush coming to her cheeks. She rubbed her head, groggily and turned her body to look at the time.
Misaki slumped back on the bed and put her head under the pillow. "It is way too early." She had developed a bad habit of being too lazy to wake up.
"Early? It's 5:30, we have to go to work… When does your alarm ring?"
She grinned underneath the pillow. "I don't have an alarm. I just wake up."
"The more I get to know you…" he sighed.
She peeked out from underneath the pillow to see his expression. He was shaking his head. "Are you starting to have second thoughts of being in love with me?"
He gave her a weird look. "Why on Earth would I have second thoughts about that?"
"Well, the more you're getting to know me, the more dull I seem, right?"
"Ayuzawa, you never fail to amuse me. It makes me fall for you more," he informed her, smirking, as if already knowing her reaction.
Misaki went back underneath the pillow to hide the reddening of her cheeks. "You're an idiot Usui."
He chuckled and placed a hand on her back gently. "Come on, we have to get ready."
Takumi POV
It's really weird for me to see her show her insecurities so openly. But, then again, it might only be me she's showing it to.
I was lying on Misaki's bed, thinking about this after work. The kids were already asleep, or so they were supposed to be. Misaki was downstairs with Hinata. I felt a pang of, not jealousy, but emptiness knowing that she wasn't here next to me. The same pang I always felt back in Japan.
I had always wondered what had made her leave Japan, so suddenly, only telling Satsuki because she had to explain why she was quitting her job at Maid Latte. Now I know she was threatened in some way and I felt bad. I felt bad because I knew that she was probably threatened by someone I knew because I was associating with her. I'm not sure if it was the same person who sent me a warning note a few weeks back, but I had a dawning suspicion that it was. They were hurting Misaki and her family because of me.
"Usui." I jolted up and noticed Misaki was standing by the door. I hadn't heard her open it.
"Oh, Misa-chan!" I greeted cheerily.
She frowned. "What were you thinking about?"
"What? Nothing," I stated. "It's getting late, Misa. I'm going to go back home."
"Oh, I- alright," she said, looking disappointed. I smirked, did she actually expect me to…?
"Don't look at me like that! Just leave," she half shouted. She always lets embarrassment get the best of her. I walked over and kissed her on the cheek.
"Good night, Misa-chan," I whispered in her ear and turned to leave.
A/n: A really short, almost meaningless chapter, but I felt I should upload it anyway. I'll update soon, I promise! :)
