There was a light bit of chatter that he could hear from outside the door to his classroom. He took a deep breath and pushed the door open. He didn't anticipate the strength of the movement until the door swung open and banged heavily against the stone wall. A grim silence took over the room as all the students simultaneously dropped everything they were doing and faced the front of the room.

Anger coursing through his veins was quickly replaced with insecurity. That he could work with. There was no other place Severus was most comfortable than in a class teaching potions. His morning breezed by thanks to his cool demeanour and procedural approach to the class much to the relief of the students. The Weasley twins, on the other hand, couldn't help but be their usual disruptive selves.

They were huddled close to one another and Snape was getting more curious by the second as he strode around the class surveying the potions being brewed by the adolescents. He quietly made his way towards the Weasleys until he was within earshot, but not close enough for them to notice his attention.

"Who the hell is that man?"

"Michael, she called him. Among other disgusting things."

"I don't know about you, Fred, but I would love to be called sweet nothings by McGonagall."

"I would too, George. I just meant that it was disgusting because it was aimed at him and not me."

"Me you mean?"

"US!" They both said.

Snape didn't know whether to be put off or amused by their antics. He also wasn't sure if they planned on sharing Minerva or that they just didn't want to argue with one another about who she would prefer more. What the hell am I thinking?! She's mine! These children will never get a shot at her and I shouldn't be entertaining the thought either. He stopped and whipped his head around to the rest of the class and a dozen heads snapped back to their work benches away from him. Did I say all that aloud? Did they hear me? In an effort to preserve himself and his sanity, he decided to end the class early and get some fresh air.

"Dismissed." They all left in a flurry of whispers of glee as it was incredibly rare for potions class to end early.

The Weasleys were the last to make their way out of the room. They almost didn't notice until most of their mates were gone. They got up rushed to the door only to be stopped by Snape's voice.

"What is it with your fascination with Professor McGonagall?" He said it so casually that it caught them off guard. They couldn't give an answer in their shock and they were asked to take a seat so they did.

"Why are you so attracted to her?" He bounced his gaze between the two as he leaned back on one of the desks.

"Um. Well. She's beautiful. You have to agree with that, sir." Fred noted.

"And she's magnificently intelligent."

They continued on and Snape nodded in agreement at some points until they said something that made his blood boil again.

"She's got legs for days!"

"WHAT? When have you even seen her legs? She's always in robes!" He yelled and lunged forward and put his hand on both desks where they were seated so fast that they almost fell off their seats as they recoiled. He's got quite a bit of lion in him. Is he sure he's a Slytherin? Snape read George's mind and leaned back to stand towering above them.

"Quidditch practice in the summer, sir. She was wearing leggings to practice."

"She's got toned arms as well."

"She was wearing a shirt and not her usual robes, sir." Fred added when Snape's eyes narrowed.

"You may go." The twins dashed out of that room leaving Snape behind to wonder why he even bothered questioning them.
