This was originally supposed to be a ballad sort of thing that got really mushy and went into the details of their irises. Well, there that went.
I have an AP quiz tomorrow... but I'm writing Fanfiction. Hm. Good deal. :D
Disclaimer: If I owned Hunger Games, I'd be running around with Jennifer and Josh all day. But nope, that's not happening.
Katniss and Peeta walked into their backyard, with it's blooming, flowering trees, the soft green grass, the sun peeking from the Meadow where Katniss would start her hunt. Peeta looked tired, and Katniss pulled him closer to her, putting her fingers through his ash blonde hair, his once tense body leaning into her touches over time. It seemed to calm them both down significantly, and within minutes, the two were dozing off, resting together under the rising morning sun.
No words needed to be exchanged. Only the memories of the good times they had - of peace and loyalty, undying love for the other, a glance in the other's eye, a touch, could surrender the worst nightmares and make them melt away with the night. Only a lullaby could bring the other back to the days when they wholly had each other, where there was no worry, no fear. Only the beauty of sunrise could strongly manifest the undying love the two had for each other.
The morning sun, a cool breeze sweeping through their hair, kissing their skin. The orange tint of sunrise, Peeta's favorite color, shined into Katniss's eyes. She smiled, leaning down and giving him a gentle kiss on the lips, nuzzling him. She wrapped her body around his, and together, they were one being. Sharing a breath, a heartbeat, a smile.
Today was definately one of those days. And they wished for many more.
Eh. Lamer than I thought. And short. Review, please?
Written with inspiration from Rue's Lullaby, a version set to Yiruma's Kiss The Rain. PM me if you want the link, it's gorgeous.
