I'm really sorry for like the two year wait for this chapter, I can't believe it's actually been that long. As always, I don't own any marvel characters or plots, and this story contains mature themes aka. Rape, do not read if this offends you.
-xCFx-
I rolled over happily, dreams of a weird mountain range and horses made of fire making me smile happily in my sleep. I imagine that really set him off. I think I've mentioned that he always seemed to jump me when I was my most peaceful, and I guess I must have looked pretty damn peaceful.
I was jolted out of my dreams by something heavy landing on me, one hand closing around my wrists, dragging them above my head and another clamping down over my mouth to prevent me screaming.
I reacted instinctively, bucking and attempting to work my legs free from the heavy mass so I could kick, but the person had straddled my hips, rendering my legs useless. My eyes were quickly adjusting to the dark and I could make out my attackers huge form. I inhaled and a familiar scent washed over me.
"Did you miss me Kitten?" I froze, for a moment I stopped fighting and I felt my pulse race faster than ever. He was furious, I could smell it. He didn't let me talk, or let me explain, he just raked his claws through my pyjama top, leaving red welts behind on my skin.
"Having fun with the Xmen? Did you really think I wouldn't find you? Or that they'd actually be able to protect you? Nobody can keep you from me Kitten, YOU ARE MINE"
He released the hand clasped over my mouth and kissed me harshly. I felt his hand wrapping something around my wrists and when he released them I realised he'd tied them to the bedpost with his belt. I struggled terrified, I'd never seen him this angry, I'd never seen him this furiously possessive.
He ripped off my shorts and then my panties, leaving me completely naked beneath him and he growled appreciatively before dragging off his shirt and trousers. I bucked again and desperately tried to talk past the hand that was once again clamped over my face.
He cut me off with a warning growl.
"Now then Kitten, I can't have you screaming to your precious Xmen now can I? If you didn't want me to drag you back by the hair and claim what's mine then you really shouldn't have run off now should you?" I shook my head desperately and managed to squeak out.
"I didn't run." He growled and fisted his free hand in my hair, dragging my head backwards and exposing my throat. His eyes landed on his dog tags still hanging around my neck and he chuckled darkly, I thanked the gods I'd given Logan his back that evening.
"The Xmen don't kidnap people little Rhea, you left of your own accord. Well I'll see to it that you never get the chance to leave again, that you never get to see the stars again, or the sunlight, or the forests. I'll lock you away for all eternity and take you over and over again until you beg for mercy, every single day of your immortal life."
I couldn't help the tears that rolled down my cheeks, he'd never give me time to explain, he'd never believe me, my life was about to become a living nightmare. He was so furious.
He ran a clawed hand down my chest and I felt myself instinctively arch towards him. He chuckled, but it was full of darkness, none of the fondness I'd come to rely on.
"That's not going to get you out of this Kitten." Without warning he drove his claws deep into my thigh and wrenched it to the side, almost dislocating the bone. I screamed hard into his hand but no sound escaped.
He led down over me, lapping up the tears from my face as he'd done once before. Then it had been a comforting gesture, now it was full of menace. With a sudden movement he thrust deep inside of me and I bucked desperately in searing pain and the familiar jolt of pleasure.
He growled into my neck as my body responded to him. It wasn't like last time, when he'd had no control and had been claiming me as his, this was worse. He purposely made it hurt, his fury and anger at me leaving showing in every scratch, every bite and every painful thrust. But there was more than that. As I felt the heat building, unbidden and unwanted inside me I realised something, me leaving, me 'running' had hurt him. He was angry because he cared.
I stopped struggling, I ignored the pain. I worked desperately to free my wrists, twisting and pulling them in ways human wrists just weren't meant to endure, but I was a feral mutant, and for once, it gave me the advantage. Once I finally pulled them free I placed them lightly on his chest and he looked down at them angrily. His eyes widened when he saw the steady flow of blood dripping down my wrists from my tangle with the belt.
I softly stroked my hands up his chest, wrapping them around his neck and pulling him closer. I'd hurt him, the man I'd finally felt safe with and I'd hurt him, more tears fell from my eyes and he released my mouth to stroke a hand across my wet cheeks.
"Victor." It was almost a broken sob, I was crying, and gasping for breath and being dragged to the brink of climax all at the same time and my head swam with confusion.
"Oh God I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." His movements were costing me my sanity as he continued to thrust punishingly hard. I tried to explain but I lost my train of thought as we suddenly fell over the edge together.
My bones felt like jelly, my head swam and I don't think I'd ever been so tired in my entire life. I was bruised and covered in my own blood and as I turned to look at Victor he still had that murderous look in his eyes. I shook my head and tried to back away.
"No... No, I didn't run, it wasn't my fault, there was no water and I was unconscious and you were gone and I…. Oh God it was…."
"No excuses Kitten! You think you can talk your way out of this? You think it takes one good fuck and everything's all smiles and happiness again? You ran Rhea! After everything you just ran!" He struck out at me, catching my face with his claws and as I sat there feeling the wound knit together and the blood run down my face I saw nothing but fury in his eyes.
He'd never hit me. Not like this. Sure we'd sparred plenty of times but this was different. He was treating me like he treated everyone else. He was treating me like prey.
I felt my sanity snap like a string and my fear was replaced with a strange feeling of calm, almost childlike as everything seemed hazy and unimportant.
There was something stirring at the back of my mind, something awoken by the sudden change in my mental state.
Rhea? Rhea are you okay? What's wrong? RHEA! RHEA!
I didn't understand, the voice sounded familiar but it echoed around my head and I cringed away from it, crawling to a slightly confused Victor, curling up beside him and burying my head in his chest.
He ran a clawed hand through my hair, apparently confused at the sudden change in me and I snuggled safely into him, hiding away from the voice in my head.
Suddenly he stiffened beside me and in an urgent movement scooped me up and rose from the bed. He dragged his trousers on and flung his great black coat over my shoulders I ended up in a standing position, facing Victor's chest but with my feet a few inches from the ground. Victor's arms were wrapped tightly around my waist and he was eyeing the door warily.
I twisted my head to follow his gaze and peered through my auburn curls at the door. As I watched it seemed to glow purple and collapse out towards us. Instead of jumping at the bang that accompanied it I was too busy watching the purple glow, awed by the beauty of it as it died into nothing.
"Cher!"
"Rhea!"
"VICTOR!"
There was so much shouting, so much anger, a part of me knew I should be trying to stop it but it all seemed so far away so I simply closed my eyes and rested my cheek on Victor's chest.
-xCFx-
I awoke to the sound of the Professors voice echoing through my skull.
"What now? I'm sort of tired you know." I'd just been released from the med bay and I still had the scars from Rogue draining me the other night.
Logan, if you'd please just listen, there appears to be something wrong with Rhea, she seems….. hazy and we may have an intruder.
I was already stumbling out of bed and pulling my pants on at the phrase 'something wrong with Rhea'.
I raced through the mansion and I picked up other Xmen who must have also got the message and as we sprinted down her corridor I saw the Cajun beside me pull out a glowing card and fling it at the door.
I let out a ripping snarl as the scent of Victor reached me and I crashed through the ruined door before Gambit could reach it.
"Cher!" I heard Gambit shout somewhere behind me and Cyclops chipped in something but I was too focused on the menace with his arms around my girl.
"VICTOR!" I roared and I saw Rhea cringe away from the sound like it physically hurt her.
"I swear to god if you've so much as touched her…." I stopped, I could smell it, and I could tell what he'd done. I could smell her blood and her tears and even his completion in the air. I felt my fury reach boiling point as I saw the blood drying on her cheek. He'd hurt her.
"Let Go Of Her Right Now, You Son Of A Bitch." I snarled at him. But Victor didn't give a damn about what I had to say, or anyone else for that matter, his eyes were darting here and there searching for the best escape route. But if he thought I was letting him leave with my girl he had another thing coming.
"Cher? You okay Petite? Gambit appeared to have disregarded Victor for the moment and was eyeing Rhea with a worried expression plastered across his face.
"What's wrong with her? What 'you do to the Cher?" This at last seemed to get Victor's attention and he glanced down worried at the doll like creature in his arms.
"Kitten?" He shook her lightly. "Kitten, answer me."
Rhea just stared up at him with big brown eyes and cocked her head slightly.
"Right, that's enough. We'll figure out what's wrong with Rhea once this bastard is dead." Wade beside me spoke up, his hatred for Victor plastered across his face.
I stepped forward, fully in agreement with this plan but expecting Scott to argue. As it was, Cyclops was right there next to me, one hand on his visor ready to blow my dear older brother to pieces. Instead it was a soft voice behind us that ruined our plan.
"Stop." I half turned, keeping one eye on Victor and Rhea. It was Jean behind us, she'd just entered the room and had one hand on her temple.
"Why?" Demanded Wade.
"Because the Professor says so." I rolled my eyes.
"What possible reason could he have for protecting that Bastard?"
"Please watch your language when you're in the mansion Logan." The Professor entered the room.
"And I don't want you to kill him because Rhea doesn't want him dead. And after all she's been through; I think it's time she was allowed to make her own decisions. Don't you?"
I glared at him.
"Like hell Rhea doesn't want him dead. Have you any idea what that Son of a Bitch has done to her?"
"Yes, actually I have every idea. I contacted you if you recall. Rhea has retreated to a part of her mind where she doesn't have to deal with this. I fear the only way to get her back again is to put her in a stable environment. And an environment where a man who's protected her for 15 years is being murdered is not what I'd call stable."
I shot him a furious look, so it was Victor that had had her for all this time. I'd assumed he'd managed to lose her at some point but the bastard had tormented her for 15 years. I was about to continue arguing with the Professor when a deep chuckle behind me caused me to turn back to Victor.
"What?" I snapped at him.
"Do you really think I'm buying this shit? It's a ploy, I'm not an idiot." He snorted at me arrogantly.
"Mister Creed, think about your current situation. Even if by some miracle you managed to incapacitate Logan, Scott, Gambit and Wade. You'd still have to get past an extremely competent telekinetic mutant and myself. An impossible feat considering how easily I can cut off your motor functions. With things standing as they are, what could I possibly have to gain from tricking you into anything?"
I saw the thoughts running through his head. My brother was a soldier, and a damn good one at that, he knew the moment that the Professor entered that the game was up.
"And if I co-operate?" I could see him literally bending his pride to say that, but the way he saw it was that if he was dead, he still wouldn't have Rhea.
"Well I guess that's up to Rhea."
He glanced down at her and his expression softened.
"Can you fix her?" I started at this question, it had never really occurred to me that Victor might like Rhea, I assumed it was just the fact that she was feral that made him want her.
The Professor nodded understandingly.
"Yes."
"Then we have a deal Chuck."
Nobody moved. The tension didn't ease off. I thought we'd stand there in silence for ever, but of course I'd forgotten Wade was in the room.
"…So we aren't going to kill him? Whyyyy?" Cyclops turned around and shouted at him, happy to be able to do something.
"Quit your moaning Wilson."
"Mister Creed, if you'd be so kind as to hand over Rhea to Gambit we ca-"
"No Fucking Way." He growled menacingly and Gambit took a hurried step backwards.
"Here, I'll take her." Jean stepped forward slowly and slid her arms around Rhea's small frame. Victor glared menacingly but released his grip on her. We watched as Jean used her power to help support the small feral and carried her out of the room.
"What now Prof?" Victor glared at him. The Professor just sighed.
"Goodnight Victor." And my dear old brother fell unconscious to the floor.
-xCFx-
The world was murky, but I could hear a familiar voice calling to me through the haze.
"Come on Kitten, you're awfully quiet this morning." Ah, Victor, he must be waiting for me to get out of bed. I smiled softly. Thank god, I'd had a horrible dream, a dream with more feral mutants and some weird teachers and Victor had been so angry with me.
I went to snuggle back into the pillow but found weirdly that there was no pillow. I cracked an eye open, ready to accuse Victor of stealing it when I was hit by a blinding light. Snapping my eye back shut I raised my hand over my eyes and complained to Victor.
"Close the curtains, that's blinding." I heard his dark chuckle from across the room and then some weird shuffling from the other side of the room. I tried to stretch my ears but my senses were too fuzzy so I gave up.
"How about we stay in bed today, I'm tired." I yawned happily.
"No Kitten, it's really important that you wake up, now open your eyes Rhea." I shook my head.
"It's too bright." I complained. Victor always cut me a little slack in the mornings; I was always a bit out of it when I'd just woken up.
Through my eyes I saw the blinding light disappear and I stretched and opened my eyes assuming he'd closed the curtains. The sight that greeted me was not the one I expected.
Instead of the great eaves of our bedroom ceiling I saw smooth steel and weird looking medical equipment hanging over me. I freaked, summersaulting backwards off the bed which turned out to be some kind of table and landed with my back pressed hard against a wall.
My eyes darted around the room and I took in what I could. Jean was standing near the table looking worried and the Professor was sat in the corner looking relatively calm with Logan who looked pretty angry. I winced as I realised that my bad dream was a reality.
Eventually my gaze landed on Victor who was stood in chains at the far side of the room with Scot and Remy on either arm and Wade behind him, his lethal katana resting at Victors neck.
Nervously I raised my gaze to meet Victors. Instead of the fury I was expecting I was met with and almost worried expression. I smiled nervously and he raised an eyebrow at me.
"You alright Kitten?" I nodded shyly and then looked around the room confused.
"What's going on?"
They all started talking at once apart from Victor who just stared hungrily at me. I couldn't make out most of what they were saying but from what I could gather I'd gone into some kind of shock. I glanced back at Victor again.
"Are you still angry with me?" Everyone stopped talking and Victor chuckled.
"No Kitten, I've heard the story, although of all the places to pick, this is the place you thought'd be safe?" I avoided his eyes nervously but he was distracted by Logan.
"What's wrong with here? At least we give her water!"
Victor snarled back at him.
"Few too many males hanging around here that need to learn not to touch other people's belongings."
"She's not an object you bastard!"
They carried on arguing back and forth but this talk of water had me realising how thirsty I was. I spotted a cup of water near the table and padded towards it, just now realising that they'd dressed me in a hospital gown.
Jean passed me the water before I reached it and smiled at me. I realised that the arguing had stopped and that both ferals were staring at me hungrily, specifically staring at my bare legs. I shivered.
"So what happens now?" I looked to the Professor but spared Victor a glance; I'd gotten so used to him setting my itinerary.
"That depends upon you, what you're comfortable with, what it is you want to do." The professor answered smiling at me. Behind me Victor growled.
"You and me are going home Kitten, just as soon as you're better and you tell these freaks to get off our backs."
"The Cher doesn't want to leave." Gambit spoke for the first time. "She likes it here, the freedom, the Library and the Horses, she even likes the children." Unlike Logan and Victor, Gambits tone wasn't demanding, he spoke it like a question, addressing it to me and then staring patiently at me, awaiting an answer.
My eyes darted around the room; I didn't know what they wanted from me. Scrap that I knew what they wanted, but they all wanted different things.
"Rhea?" The professor was looking at me expectantly. I shook my head, I didn't know what to say, I didn't have an answer. My head hurt and my ears were fuzzy and the room hurt my eyes.
"Stop this, she needs rest and some time to think, get out, all of you, that includes you Professor, she needs some time to adjust." Jean's voice had never felt so welcome or calming and slowly they began to file out of the room. Victor was all but dragged, his dark eyes not leaving mine until the door slid shoot behind him.
"I just have to do some basic tests and then you'll be good to leave, it's almost dinner time, you could go up to dining hall."
I smiled at her.
"What's going on with Victor?"
She looked up at me wary.
"He agreed to stand down when he realised he couldn't get out of here with you and when he saw something was wrong with you."
"What happened to me?" She paused before answering.
"As far as I can tell you went into some sort of shock. You gave us a scare, that's for sure."
She came and sat down next to me, beginning to take my blood pressure.
"Look, Rhea, I know you're probably scared right now, but the Professor, Logan, Victor, even Gambit, they all want something from you, and I need you to promise me that you'll do what you want, regardless of what the others think. You're in a unique position here. Whatever you chose they will accept it, some, predominantly Victor may have to be forced into accepting it but they will. It's your choice."
I looked at her nervously and finally spoke the truth that had been worrying me ever since I'd arrived here.
"I miss him." I cast my eyes down and heard a soft sigh from my companion.
"I'm not going to pretend to understand your feelings for Victor. I know they've got to be pretty complicated and to be honest, I know the things he's done and I hate him for them. But you have a right to choose who's in your life Rhea. If you want him in it, have him, if you don't, we can keep him out."
I smiled slightly. Making my own decisions wasn't something I'd been able to do for quite some time.
"What about Logan?" I snapped my head around to look at her when I heard her quiet question. She was looking at me steadily and patiently.
"I….I don't know." I choked out.
"Everything's so confusing. It used to be so easy in comparison, Victor was safe, and everything else wasn't: Voila. I didn't have to think about any of these things. But now everything's different, and I don't know how I feel about Logan, and I have to figure out how I feel about Victor and then I have to consider Remy and Wade and everyone else. Remy was right, I do like it here. I feel safe, safe and just a little bit free. It's addictive, and so tempting to stay, but if I stay I have to answer so many questions. Tell me what to do Jean."
The red head glared at me and stood up.
"Grow a backbone Rhea. You want to stay? Stay. You don't? Don't. Either way you'll still have to make hard choices, and no one is going to make them for you, so get off your ass, go to the dining room and figure out how you feel about the team up there. Go."
A little startled, I all but ran from the room.
-xCFx-
I paced up and down the tiny space of the cell they'd seen fit to provide me with. The scent of my brother hung thick in the air and I chuckled as I realised I wasn't the only one to be recently incarcerated in here.
I missed Rhea. I'd got used to her presence over the years so her scent didn't make me automatically drag her from the room and fuck her against the nearest wall but I still lost control sometimes. Like last night. I hadn't meant to get into it with her in this fucking mansion but I'd lost my grip on the beast and it had cost me the escape. I'd kept it in check this afternoon though, when they called upon my services to help wake her up.
I was worried about the little Kitten, no one had thought to inform me of how she was and it wasn't like there was anyone about to ask.
I'd never seen her do anything like that before. When she went into shock her entire scent changed, becoming more like a cub than anything else. It'd scared me. And I don't scare easily.
It wasn't even like I'd hit her hard or anything, I'm not sure what made her react the way she did, it wasn't the first time I'd been rough with her.
A niggling voice in the back of my head was whispering to me though. I'd never just hit her, sex had been rough and we'd sparred plenty of times, but I'd never just struck out at her. Not since that first night when I realised I wanted more than just a warm body to fuck, I hadn't hit her out of anger in 15 years.
I sighed, this was getting me nowhere, I still didn't know how she was doing.
A light set of footprints sounded in the corridor and my ears perked up.
Rhea was coming.
She appeared in front of the bars, but stood a distance away biting her lip nervously.
I didn't take my eyes off her but I lowered myself slowly to the floor.
The Kitten much preferred to talk when sat on the floor.
She smiled at me and followed suit.
I waited patiently while she struggled with herself and eventually she found her voice.
"You're not going to like what I have to say, I doubt you'll like any of it."
I growled angrily, if she thought she could just walk away from me she was dead wrong.
"I want the best of both worlds and I know it's selfish but I do. I want to stay here Victor, I love what they do here and I'd love to be a part of it. You remember when I told you I wanted to see the world instead of hiding in the woods? Well this is my chance-"
"Kitten…" I interrupted her.
"No. Let me finish. I want this here, I want all of it, but, I think I want you too. At least, I want the choice, because I'm not sure Victor, I've no idea who you are outside of that house in Canada and I'd love the opportunity to find out and-"
I cut her babbling off.
"So you want me to stay here? With the X men? Rhea, that's not going to work."
"Why not?" She challenged me.
"Well, I, they'd never let me."
"Yes they would, I've already asked the Professor, of course there'd be ground rules and you'd have to help out but it could work."
"Rhea, I'm an animal, I can't be penned in."
She looked disappointed with me.
"From here it looks like the only person putting you in a cage is you."
I growled at her, Rhea occasionally showed a backbone but I didn't expect it to come out right now.
She sighed and went to get up.
"No. Wait."
She turned back to me.
"What about the Runt?"
"Logan? I, I don't know."
I could smell her confusion, she liked Jimmy, she just couldn't work out how much.
I tried to work through it in my head.
Could I really do it? Stay here? I didn't want to, didn't want to be stuck here with the self-righteous bastards but if it meant getting Rhea back could I?
But then there was the Runt. If we stayed here he'd be trying to pry the Kitten away from me, and Frails liked Jimmy, he was good with pretty words and stuff and they lapped it up.
But Rhea wasn't a frail, and maybe two could play that game, I'd known Rhea for 15 years, I knew every soft spot, everything she loved.
I grinned, I could do this, I could take him, I was certain of it.
Rhea looked hopeful at the sight of me smiling.
"Alright little Kitten, we'll play it your way for now, but if you choose me, when you choose me, we'll re-evaluate our situation, sound fair?"
She didn't smile at me, she just walked towards the bars and put a slender hand through, stroking my cheek.
"Thank-you, not just for this, for everything."
And then she was gone.
-xCFx-
They were letting him stay, I couldn't believe it, they were letting the bastard stay, after everything he'd done to her they were just letting him wander around the mansion.
Of course there were restrictions, but they weren't restrictive enough if you ask me.
He wasn't allowed in any of the basement rooms save the danger room, he wasn't even allowed near the younger kids although there was talk of finding him some teaching work with the older kids, he wasn't allowed to leave or re-enter the mansion without express permission from the Professor and there were a shit ton of ground rules.
The Professor would put him down if he:
-hurt any of the kids
-threatened any of the kids
-hurt any of the X men
-hurt any civilians during his time in the mansion
-passed information about the school to any outside parties
-engaged in illegal activities
Seriously, the rules were not strict enough, but the Prof liked to believe people could change.
He was wrong, Victor never changed.
So now I was sat across from my dear old brother in the kitchen drinking soda and listening to Wade go on and on about the Jets.
"The Jets are shit." Victor growled at him, and for once we were in agreement, Wilson looked horrified.
"Logan, back me up man, you brother thinks the Jets are shit!"
"I heard him, and as angry as it makes me, I agree with him, the Jets are shit."
Wilson made an offended noise and cleared off out of the kitchen pausing only to greet Rhea as she came in.
Victor straightened up but I beat him to speaking.
"How was class?"
Rhea pulled a face, she'd been teaching history to some of the younger students and judging by the glitter smeared on her cheek it hadn't gone so well.
"I'd take one of you over a class full of 9 year olds any day." She said as she grabbed a chocolate bar from the cupboard.
"You can take me any day." Came the response from Victor, accompanied by a leer.
She swatted him on the arm and made to leave so I jumped on the opportunity before Victor could.
"Hey Kid, are you doing anything tonight?" She looked startled and flicked a glance over to Victor who just raised an eyebrow at her.
"I don't think so."
"You want to go riding, I can show you the grounds?" She bit her lip looking worried.
"I, em, yes, that'd be nice." I smiled at her and she all but ran from the room.
I turned back to Victor and was surprised to see him smirking.
"What?"
"You can't win, I know her too well."
"Hah, we'll see bub, we'll see."
-xCFx-
If Jimmy thought he was winning he had another thing coming, I'd been out of that cell less than 5 minutes before I set my plan into action.
There was a package arriving tonight which would hopefully score me big points, let Jimmy take her riding, she would forget all about it when I gave her the present, like I said, I know her.
I'd had to ask the Professor for permission though which had irked me no end, especially when he gave me that knowing smile that I detested.
I whittled away the hours until evening in the danger room. I might hate most aspects of this place but that was one room I could get used to, everything was realistic, it even smelt the same. I loved it.
Finally after showering and sticking on a fresh shirt I headed out to the gate to collect the Kittens present. I was heading back when I heard laughing and I spotted Rhea and Jimmy leading the horses back to the stable, a little annoyed at her evident enjoyment of the evening I went to wait for her in the games room.
Eventually they both came in and frowned slightly and the new smell, Rhea came forward to investigate while Jimmy frowned at me.
"Thought your bed might be cold little Kitten, and until you decide to let me warm it again, I figured this'd have to do."
I pushed the box towards her and she crouched down to open it.
Inside was an Ocelot cub, a wild cat about the size of a regular domestic cat with fur like a leopard and big amber eyes, being only a cub this one was about the size of her forearm and extremely fluffy.
Her eyes met mine, sparkling and she smiled at me.
Rhea loved big cats, something I wasn't sure if I should take as a compliment, anyway, the Professor refused to let me get her an actual leopard so this had to do.
I stood to leave while she picked up the cub, confident that my work was done but I heard her pattering feet follow me to the door.
She stood on her tiptoes, still holding the little cub and kissed me on the cheek.
"Thank-you." She whispered before running off with the cub.
Grinning I turned to face Jimmy, he looked furious. I chuckled at him.
"I told you Jimmy, I know her."
-xCFx-
The Ocelot was gorgeous, I didn't have a name for him though so when I went down for breakfast and showed him to Remy I demanded that he help me pick one.
Remy didn't seem to particularly like cats though and so wasn't much help but when Wade came and sat down with us he seemed very enthusiastic about the new addition.
"You could call it Wade! Or Wilson!" He shouted as he hoisted up the cat so he could look it in the eye.
"Petite is not calling her cat after you Wade." Remy cut in, exasperated.
We'd been pretty early for breakfast but now the mess hall was filling up with students all of which looked very curious about the cub.
One of the 9 year olds I'd been teaching the day before came over and asked if she could stroke him and when I asked her if she could think of a name for him she bit her lip and thought about it very seriously.
"What about Nevada? I'm from Nevada." She said proudly and I didn't have the heart to refuse her.
"Alright then, Nevada it is!"
Wade leant over and whispered in my ear as she walked away.
"Nevada's a stupid name."
"What, and Wade Wilson isn't? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones Wade."
To which he simply started laughing.
Nevada was curled up in my lap when Victor manoeuvred his bulk into the chair next to me.
"Morning Kitten, is there bacon?" I passed him the plate and he grinned at me.
"Named it yet?"
"HE, is called Nevada."
"Nevada is a stupid name." He told me before turning to his bacon.
Wade burst out laughing and Remy just shook his head, I smiled fondly at them, I was beginning to think that this could actually work, that maybe we could all just get along.
Nevada stirred in my lap at the noise and then suddenly became very interested in Victors bacon, instead of swatting him away like I expected Victor let him steal a small slice and he promptly dropped to the floor to enjoy it.
Logan dropped into the chair opposite me.
"Pass the bacon would you Cajun." He smiled at me.
"Morning Rhea, how's the cat?"
"Enjoying some of Victors bacon at the moment."
Remy butted in.
"Victor, we got a danger room session scheduled this morning for awl the X men, the Prof was hoping you'd come along."
Victor grinned at him.
"Sound's like fun, is the Kitten coming?"
"Yup, Professors working on getting you a suit too petite."
"Hah! You're not getting me in one of those suits." Stated Victor.
I giggled at the image and then shut up when he raised an eyebrow at me. This was going to be fun.

They split us up into teams, a simple capture the flag idea but I wasn't too happy about the team set up.
It was the Kitten, Jimmy, Cyclops, the Cajun and two kids called Rogue and Bobby against Me, the telekinetic bitch, Wilson, Storm, some guy called Colossus and a kid called Pyro.
Still though, any chance to get up close and personal with the Kitten was fine by me.
The arena they set up was some sort of abandoned military base in a cave, very dark with lots of levels and uneven walls, I loved it.
We left Colossus and the telekinetic to guard the flag and launched a four pronged Attack on theirs, it didn't take me long to find their flag, but I growled in annoyance when I realised they'd left Jimmy and the Cajun to guard it.
The two had obviously been fighting together for a while and they were damned good, I was just about to attack when the Pyro kid jumped in and created an excellent distraction, as the Cajun and Jimmy turned to defend themselves I launched myself at their flag, snatching it up mid bound and jumping away with it, now I simply had to get it back to our flag and we'd be a point up.
It didn't work out, one moment I was bounding down a crumbling flight of stairs, the next I had a broken spine and was watching helplessly as the Kitten grabbed their flag back up and took off back towards the Runt.
I grinned as the vertebrae slid back into place, coming to get you Kitten.
I was quicker than her, running on all fours like I did, but the terrain was difficult and she was incredibly agile, still I caught her a level below her base and cornered her against a wall.
"Give me the flag little Kitten." I purred at her and she shook her head defiantly as I towered over her.
I wrenched the flag out of her grasp before grinning at her hungrily.
She felt so good, pinned between me and the wall and it had been so long since I'd tasted her.
"Spoils of war Kitten." I told her before crushing my lips to hers. I groaned as I invaded her heat, I'd never get enough of her, especially when she was mewling beneath me, bucking against me.
I pulled away from her, sure that if I carried on I'd never be able to stop. She was still slumped against the wall, breathing heavily through swollen lips.
"I'm fairly sure that's against the rules." She gasped out.
I chuckled before disappearing back towards our flag.
We ended up winning, 3-2 which I rubbed in Jimmy's face at every available opportunity. He wasn't happy with me, but I was fairly sure that was because I was smothered in Rhea's scent and not because I'd beat him at some game.
We were relaxing in the kitchen when Storm ran in.
Shouting breathlessly over the chatter.
"A mutant has just tried to kill the President."
Fuck.
