Warmth

The fireplace crackled as she sat on the couch, Vaughn's arms wrapped around her, his face buried in the crook of her neck. Her dog was lying down in front of her, snoring, enjoying the fire's heat. She turned back toward Vaughn and kissed him on the cheek.

"I love you," she said, and he responded with a grunt.

He wasn't very good at sharing his emotions.

"I'm cold," she said, shivering. Vaughn sighed and wrapped his arms around her. He might not be very good at sharing his emotions verbally, but he had no problem with doing so physically.
