It was night and the bonfire in the town square was burning brightly as the festival continued. The guitar strings strummed by the gypsy continued to play, along with the drums that formed the music of the celebration. The dark skinned woman wearing a fire red dress that rivaled the color of the roaring large fire itself continued to dance gracefully as people in the crowd that surrounded her clapped to the beat of the song, encouraging her to continue. Drinks were shared by the men while the women held onto their children who wanted to join her. Phoebus, himself, was one of the men with a drink in his hands, celebrating as well. His brown eyes kept their focus on the young woman Esmeralda. He was in love with her, there was no doubt about that, and the fact that she reciprocated those feelings as well. But even so now, it was like the way they first met; he was watching her the exact way, eyes full of curiosity, intrigue, and a dash of lust added to the mix.

Sure, at first he was reluctant to take up the offer of coming back to Paris as "Captain of the Guard", but he was happy he would have a chance to see his beloved home country again, so he took the position. And now, look where he was. Captain of the Guard, plus a well-respected individual among the citizens of Paris, and another plus was that he now had a very alluring lover, soon to be his wife. It must have been a six sense, since her emerald eyes were now looking into his. Her dancing didn't stop or slow, instead, it seemed with him staring at her, it made her move faster.

It was when she turned and twirled that their gazes upon each other broke. Phoebus sighed, chuckling slightly before looking up at the star-dotted sky above the town square and everyone in it. He was glad he came back to France, all because he met her.

Now, this was inspired by the song "Glad You Came" by The Wanted. For whatever reason, I thought of these two and decided to write this short... ._.;
