I don't own 7th heaven or anything with it.

Eric sighed as Annie left his study. What was her problem? She'd never had a problem with his counseling women before. Geez, she'd even accused him of telling Serena it was her who wanted Eric to stop counseling. Then when he told Annie he wouldn't, she insisted that he do it. Annie had never been such a…well as a minister and her husband, he couldn't bring himself to say it. And he noticed how she'd been butting into the children's lives, like calling that girl's mother to make her be friends with Ruthie. Who wants to have a "friend" who's only your friend cause their "mommy" made them? He knew as a mother, she should help them with problems, but he was more for letting the children solve their own problems. Of course they'd stepped in with Mary, but she'd gotten in so deep, she'd proven she couldn't get herself out of it. With 7 kids, he never thought that she'd have a problem with each one of them growing up, just the youngest! He knew she was insecure about Serena, but why? They'd always been faithful and loving towards each other, he'd never given her a reason before to be worried. He thought about saying something in his sermon, but he had to be careful. He didn't want to make the mistake he did when Lucy was worried about getting her period and using that song "Turn turn turn" which had been the same song Annie had used when she was telling Lucy it was ok not to have her period yet. Lucy had run embarrassed and tearful out of the church. Annie was so great back then. Always cheerful and glowing with love. What happened? Eric figured he finally had to have a word with her. Find out why she was so jealous. He stood up and left his study. He ran into Ruthie in the kitchen.

"Why aren't you in bed?"

"I heard you and mom fighting, and I couldn't sleep till I'd known you'd made up."

"Well we're made up now so lets go to bed." He offered his arm to his youngest daughter and after putting her in bed and saying goodnight, he headed into his bedroom. Annie was getting ready for bed.

"Annie, we need to talk about something." She turned and gave him a dirty look. He tried to keep his focus. She used to smile at him, now anything he said got him a dirty look.

"What?"

"I just have to know, why do you feel so threatened by Serena?" Annie started to say something, but Eric held up his hand to finish. "I know you think she'll make a move on me, but even if she did, you should know enough about me by now to know that even if she did, I'd refuse her. Have I ever given you a reason not to trust me?"

Annie sighed and looked away.

"No, but what if she tries to kiss you?"

"I'll push her away before she can do it. Annie, I love you. I married you and I'm not a hypocrite. I wouldn't preach against adultery then do it myself!" Annie sighed again. She sat on the bed and while she brushed her hair out, Eric could see her thinking. She put her brush down and turned towards him.

"Eric, I know you wouldn't intentionally do anything, but Serena is a clever, pretty woman. She can have any man she wants and I don't want her to have you. But I guess I should trust you a little more. I know you would refuse her if she tried anything."
