"I'm Susie Jones with the exclusive with Harry and Gabby Potter with a startling revelation.
Since the news broke about Mrs. Potter's unfortunate mishap with reporters a few days ago, rumors have run amok amongst our readers. Many questions have been asked - some outlandish to this reporter but the clearest one has come to the light: Could their bonding ceremony awaken deeply hidden magical abilities that were dominant inside of Gabrielle Peters Potter(GPP)? Evidence is starting to answer that question. And we're getting to a resounding yes.
After several owls from anonymous guests who had attended the Potter's ceremony, there are reports that the binding between Lord Potter-Black (LPB) and his wife was particularly and unusually strong and bright. So bright that many had to shield their eyes from its brilliance.
We spoke to several historians about the brilliant light's significance. The consensus is that there hasn't been a ceremony with that kind of brilliance with a simply average Muggle partaking in the ceremony.
Since LBP became single after breaking up with Ginny Weasley, rumors were rampant questioning why such a lord of such stature and power would fall for such an average Muggle. After a number of encounters with the public, no one ever suspected that GPP would ever exhibit any powers. It seems that we were all proven wrong just a few days ago.
Reporters at the Muggle airport say that an accidental brushing against GPP set off a rain of accidental magic that even scared GPP. And this reporter has finally been able to get the scoop from those close to the couple.
'Gabby immediately started to exhibit small bouts of magic right after the ceremony.' Hermione Granger Weasley stated in an open session with me. 'We were all shocked at first but after testing it, she has been able to exhibit a few things. It's more based on instinct than actual spell work. We were astounded that Harry's magical core could have awakened such abilities inside of her.'
After speaking with HGW, this reporter reached out to LPB and GPP for comments. And in the oddest fashion, they invited this reporter to their estate, Potter Manor for an exclusive interview with the both of them.
The Manor glittered with ancient relics and a new modern sophistication brought in by the instance of its Mistress; all of it enchanted this reporter. Especially by the invitation to have high tea in the expansive the ground gardens.
GPP, wearing a long white off shoulder empress waist dress and her husband in a smart blue blazer and khakis greeted me promptly after my arrival. Both were still very much basking in their honeymoon phase, with slight touches and lingering looks as the other spoke.
But this reporter was not to be deterred by the grandeur of the estate, beautiful garden or terrace. I asked clearly, 'Are you truly a Muggle?'
'Yes' GPP answered without hesitation. "But with a little bit of something extra.'
'We contacted our family physician and it seems that my wife will be able to perform small bouts of magic for an indefinite amount of time. The reason still isn't clear but there are researchers looking into it.'
When pressed about the 'Muggle with a little bit of something extra,' GPP explained: 'Well I can do minor things such as protect myself but I can't use a wand.' To prove it, she picked up her husband's want and performed a few waves and no sparks appeared.
Once she put it down, 'I can bring small things at command as well. For instance, I want your cup of tea in front of me.' Before the sentence ended, the cup and saucer floated towards her and hovered until she plucked it from the air.
Remarkable. When asked whether it was just LPB performing non-verbal magic, GPP's eyes rolled and she chuckled. 'Whisper in my ear and let me know what you would like to eat. And name something outrageous. I'm famished.'
Having traveled in some Muggle circles, this reporter became a fan of strawberry shortcake that had half of a strawberry with white chocolate sauce on the side. Once it was whispered, GPP's eyes lit up with delight. 'Oh that sounds awesome.' And within seconds, the very same shortcake appeared on the table.
LBP smirked with a sense of price as his wife gleefully cut into the cake and served it out to us.
This reported was stunned for obvious reasons. As GPP tucked in, LBP spoke, 'The reason we are speaking about this is because we didn't see a reason to hide this. The public needs to be aware as it might be a shock to them if they see Gabby performing some magic at some point in the future. But we are hopeful that the public will continue to respect our privacy as we figure out the extent of this change.' He smiled. 'I guess excitement is never too far from me.'
The one theory this reporter had before this interview is in shambles. The question remains: is what is the extent of GPP's abilities - will they continue to grow? Does this mean other Muggles can manifest this? Or is this simply another amazing feat for the Boy That Lived Twice? That such a powerful wizard could have changed the abilities of an ordinary Muggle? Researchers will be clamoring over each other to gain access to this phenomenon. But HGP has claimed that she will be the sole researcher on the matter. With the brains behind the Boy Who Lived Twice decidedly researching on the matter, it should only be a matter of time before we have a conclusion.
Harry paced in front of the hearth in the Potter library as Gabby, Ron and Hermione read the different accounts other reporters made after reading Susie Jones' ground-breaking article. Gabby couldn't help but smirk at all of the conjectures a number of reporters were making. It was exactly how they planned it. She and Hermione knew that they only way to mask her pregnancy and abilities was to use the psychology.
The human brain cannot resist a good conspiracy theory. And if you added the Boy Who Lived into the story, the public would teeter between awe and speculation about how strong Harry was. Not about whether Gabby was manifesting non-verbal magic. Some opinion columns couldn't help but guess that Harry had to be even stronger than Dumbledore if he was able to give a mere Muggle abilities. Some of the comments swayed toward the offensive side (a stupid Muggle can do magic now because Harry Potter couldn't choose one of his own), but Gabby decided not to focus on it. The plan was working, the public was diverted and now they could focus on this prophesy.
Harry still paced steadily for several long moments. "Baby, would you please take it easy?" Gabby called out, not lifting her head from the magazine she read from. "Can't you see we've solved one problem here? Take a load off."
He massaged his temples and stood still for a moment. "I know. I know the plan is working, love. But it doesn't make this any easier to swallow. We have essentially upped the legend of Harry Potter to astronomical levels. Plus, I truly do despise the way they keep belittling you. I have half a mind to tell them that my Muggle wife is an accomplished and smart woman who bestowed her company on me. Not the other way around." He finally sat in the chair next to Gabby. "Can't I just tell them to bugger off?"
Hermione and Ron smirked into their papers, recognizing the pouting tone their friend's voice took.
Gabby gave her husband a lopsided smile and absently ran her fingers through his hair, effectively southing him. "I can understand your frustration, baby. I do. But this is the best way. The attention is diverted. I don't have to be afraid to do magic now outside the house. And we may have bought ourselves more time to focus on the real dangers to little Harry."
Harry let out an surprised laugh. "Little Harry?"
She shrugged. "I had to give him a name. Why not after his daddy? But this is just a place holder. We will be giving his a proper name like Benjamin or Malcolm or-"
"Ronald?" Ron offered, putting his paper down with a smile.
Gabby's smile looked strained. "Thanks for that suggestion, Ron. We'll consider it."
Hermione giggled. "Ron, please. Who would want that old man name of yours? We want to give little Harry a chance, don't we?"
They all laughed, while Ron gave another smirk. "Mock my name now, but our second child will be named after me!"
Hermion'e chuckle grew louder. "Oh please Ronald. I refuse to get into another argument ahout this with you. None of our children will be after us. Let them be their own person."
Gabby looked over at her friend thoughtfull.y "You know what? You are absolutely right. I think its only fair to Jamey to give him his own choice at life rather than his impressive father's footsteps."
The Golden Trip looked at her puzzled.
"Love, who is Jamey?" Harry asked.
Gabby opened her mouth about to give Harry a smart reply but quickly realized that the name did come out of nowhere. Her fingers slid across her slowly growing belly. "I - I think that the baby is letting us know how exactly he'd like to be named."
Ron's eyes grew. "You mean to say that-"
"Ron," Hermione interrupted. She looked over at the dark skinned mother, still caressing her stomach absent-mindedly. "Gabby, are you sure it's the baby and not something you thought of before? You are four months pregnant now. Those hormones can be murder on your normally-clear faculties."
Gabby looked around and saw the same concerned look mirrored in their faces, especially Harry. There was no way that they would believe her if she said that she had always refered to the baby as Little Harry until that very moment the name Jamey appeared in her head. It was as though the name had been replaced; a mental correction. A correction she could say came from the baby. She knew that their child had been a wonder for them but to feed her thoughts was on a whole other level. Terrifying as it was to even consider it and also to remove their concerned looks away, Gabby quickly gave a chuckle. "Oh boy, now that you say that…I did think that Jamey would be a nice name. You know after James. But we'd call him Jamey. No need to make the boy too serious."
The Trio visibly relaxed and gave similar soft smiles. "Jamey," Harry said softly. "I think I rather like that name. What do you think, Dad?"
"Wonderful," a voice from the frame above the fireplace said. James Potter came forward closely followed by Lily. "There aren't too many James in the Potter line. One more would be wonderful."
"Really?" Gabby asked. "What is the most common name?"
"Francis."
Harry shuddered. "Thank God you passed on tradition."
"You said it. I don't think I could've dated a Francis, let alone marry," Gabby grinned.
"Oh, I don't know about that. I think my charming and rugged looks would have convinced you otherwise."
Gabby smirked. "Sure, hunny. Anyway, we've gotten terribly off-topic. What's the next move for our plan? What do we do about the maniac in prison?"
Harry's jaw tightened. "That was not the deal Gabby. You did your part for Witch's Weekly and you would take a leave of absence from work. You'd stay safe inside the Manor doing research, remember? You leave the detective work to me and Ron."
Gabby slowly rose out of her seat, pulled it away from the table and turned so that she could face her husband directly. She sat back down and crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't remember being on house arrest, Harry Potter. You will not lock me up like Rapunzel in a tower."
"Who's Rapunzel?" Ron whispered to Hermione who rolled her eyes.
Harry mimicked his wife's movement and moved his chair so that he could face his wife directly. "You know what? A tower is a good idea. Why didn't I think of that?" Gabby slapped his arm sharply.
"Be serious. I'm just finishing my first trimester and I'm just getting to the part where I can do stuff without feeling completely nauseous. Harry James Potter, if you so much as try to keep me locked in this house, so help me God I will make you-"
Harry raised his hands up in surrender. "There's no need to finish that sentence - no good will come of it. Love, I'm not suggesting full house arrest. I am suggesting that you stay home more often so that you can be protected by the Manor. We don't want another kidnapping fiasco. And I'd rather not just rely on Jamey to protect you," he laid a loving hand on her belly, "though he's done a fine job so far."
Hermione chewed on the bottom of her lip. "I think I may have a solution. Could you excuse us a moment? We'll be right here." She quickly pulled Ron's chair closer to her and erected a Muffliato spell. The Potters watched the Weasleys discuss something rapidly, seemingly in agreement with each other. Ron shrugged and seemed to gesture to Harry. Hermione smiled and nodded. She quickly removed the Muffliato and turned to her best friend.
"Harry, I think it would be best if Ron, Rose and I move into the Manor."
Harry's eyebrow rosed. "Oh?"
"It actually makes sense, if you think about it." Hermione cleared her throat. "We are going to be entering into unknown times once. We have no idea what lies ahead for all of us, not just Gabby and Jamey. As it is now, you need Ron closer to you for the work you will be doing at the Ministry. Gabby needs me to help her conduct the research and possibly help her navigate her first pregnancy. We could also use the protection of the Manor. We must think about protecting our own daughter. We can't keep relying on her grandparents to watch over her. Besides, it will be like Grammauld Place all over again, except we will much better equipped with protection and experience to deal with whatever comes at us all."
"At least this time around we won't have to deal with a cranky elf," Ron muttered. Hermione shot him a look.
"What do you say, Harry? Shall we all be roommates for a couple of months?"
"Wait," Gabby interrupted. "I don't you all to uproot your lives because of this. I'm sure I can manage this on my-"
"Before you finish that sentence, love," Harry said quietly. "I can tell you from the look Hermione has on her face and by her logic, she will not change her mind. It would be best to accept their companionship for the next few months until we have this sorted out." Gabby opened up her month but her husband minutely shook his head. "I've just save you hours of arguing. No point in getting agitated, right?"
Rolling her eyes, Gabby eyed Ron and Hermione sharing a victorious expression. "I'm assuming you've used this tactic before?"
Ron chuckled and sat back comfortably in his chair. "Actually, I'm surprised Harry agreed so quickly. I was sure he was going to join you in refusing us. Hermione, you've finally thought an old dog new tricks."
"That or Harry was already thinking of something similar."
Harry smirked but didn't confirm Hermione suspicions. "You guys can join us in the family wing. When should we expect you guys to move in?"
I can only say that I am sooooo sorry. It has been literally months since I've updated this story. Life got in the way. I was hospitalized for a bit due to sickness. I released my first original novel (if you are curious to know, it actually was just released October 1 - "Awoke: the Want Series." If you would like to read a 75-page preview its my author website KTCONTE dot COM under book information). I've only just been able to focus on this and I have said it before and I'll say it again - this will never be abandoned! I actually just wrote about how FanFiction is important to me in a post.
But anyway, I'm totally off-topic. Bottom line: I'm back. I want to finish this story in the next few weeks. Expect the next installment soon!
