The low rumble of the Impala's engine haunts Dean's dreams. Just another familiar comfort lost. In the dream-background her radio plays softly, the volume low because Sam is sleeping, head resting on the cool glass while the stars swirl in the Milky Way overhead, and the road stretches, straight and empty, into the far distance.

Johnny Cash sings, but the words have changed.

I keep a close watch on this brother of mine

I keep my eyes open all the time
