Because it's as rare as you
(I Don't Own Skip Beat I Just Add Side Stories the original author probably didn't think of)
Kyoko came out from behind the bushes into the clearing. She sluggishly walked and sat by the edge of the stream on a rock not far off the ground but high enough to keep her feet from touching the pristinely clear blue water. Here she came, day after day preserving her memory of her best friend, her first love, Corn. She looked down and smiled at the water, she stared at her reflection, her smile made its way into a sad one. Soon she felt a single tear make it way down her cheek, hitting the water and rippling her reflection, since Corn left she hadn't cried as often but this time she couldn't help it. Many tears followed after the first, and she tried futility, to dry her eyes . . . .
She was now, as of today, ten and her mother was long gone. Sho wasn't much of a friend to her either. She had no friends nor much of anyone she could talk to. No. Not like Corn. She continued to cry and cry not bothering to wipe her eyes anymore, clutching to Corn, wishing he was there, and wishing she wasn't so . . . alone. What she didn't notice was that a boy about four years older than her came out into the clearing until he asked her.
"Why are you crying?"
Startled Kyoko, quickly tried to hide her tears as she jerked her head around to look at the owner of the voice. When she finally saw him she was bewildered. Her eyes widened as she barely whispered one word "Corn?"
Just catching his ears he smiled at her and nodded.
She ran to where he stood and embraced him as hard as she could, her eyes welling up with tears once again. She wanted to make absolutely sure he was real.
"Why? When did you get here? Where have you been?"
Koun gazed at Kyoko, calmed her down as he did. With a pleased smile he answered her question in a vague way. "I just got today and I was . . . busy. And as for why well . . ." if shifted and brought out a simple blue rose and handed it to her.
Astonished and bemused Kyoko stared at the mystical enchanting blue rose now in her hand she smiled and then asked "how is this possible? I did know there was such thing as a blue rose."
"This is a rare flower her name is Moonlight Hemi (Hemi means princess)"
"Corn-san she's so pretty"
"She's yours now, happy birthday Kyoko-Chan. Merry Christmas."
"Are you sure I can have her?"
"Yes because she is as rare as you"
Kyoko smiled at her friend and hugged him. She whispered into his chest "Thank You Corn!"
Kyoko woke up, feeling silent tears on her cheek she smiled at her precious memory. She stood up and looked at the mirror and said to herself "Happy 17th Birthday".
After she got dressed she turned and looked at all her presents she got the day before. She stared for a great while till the missus had informed her she was late, in a panic Kyoko turned and a diamond fell out of her rose, "queen rose" as Ren told her. Her eyes widened, dream forgotten, gasped and whispered, "Princess Rose!"
