Chapter Twenty Four: Envious Contrast

Freddy followed the killer couple down into what looked like a dirt tunnel underneath the main cabin and kept Sidney close behind him.

How long do you think we'll be stuck here? She asked as he took her by the hand and the smell of rotted wood and damp earth filled her senses.

I don't fucking know! He shot back at her as they passed piles of what looked like belongings from past victims. Jason sped up in front of them taking his woman friend with him and picked her up effortlessly in one arm. A few silent gestures were made between them and she made a few clicking noises and gestures pointing up and to his machete and back to the two of them making Freddy stop in his tracks causing Sidney to run into him as he watched them closely. The silent woman placed a kiss on the brute's mask before he set her back on her feet and handed her what looked like a notepad and pen from a nearby pile of loot and motioned back to them before staring Freddy down for a moment and taking off down another tunnel.

The woman motioned for them to join her in the large clearing. It was a large carved out room lined with many weapons and opened into several other tunnels. A large workbench was against one of the walls and what looked like a sharpening wheel on another and in another dug out portion there was what could have been mistaken for a bed if there weren't chains mounted beside it, but it did look like it was used recently covered in several blankets and pillows. Freddy shook the idea of what they used that mattress for from his head finding it hard to do so with Sidney thinking the same thing. The mute woman motioned for them to sit on the bench as she quickly wrote in the notebook. They obeyed and Freddy started to look around at all of the weapons in the room as Sidney watched the silent girl finally remove her hood and scarf that she was hiding behind.

Not only did she have a scar across her neck but one on her face trailing from beneath her left eye to the bridge of her nose and her hair looked as if she had cut it herself, brown and messy stopping just after her ears. Sidney had so many questions but kept quiet as she watched her write as quickly as she could in her notebook. She saw Freddy about to open his mouth and she put her hand over his lips stopping him.

What? The demon asked as she stared into him.

Before you say anything make sure it won't get either of us stabbed. She pleaded staring into him with an eyebrow raised. He let out an audible groan before removing her hand.

You're no fun.

Sidney was handed the notebook and she read it.

'I'm Lisa. I've lived here with Jason for almost 7 years now. He is…' She could feel Freddy attempting to read over her shoulder.

"Just read my mind dammit." She insisted.

"Fine…" He growled causing Lisa to tilt her head curiously at them as she grabbed another notebook and started writing in it.

'He is my everything. I guess he is my husband and I'm his wife. But enough about us. Please just be patient and wait for the next round of campers to come by. You can take one of their vehicles. I'll leave one intact for you. But until then please just do as we ask and stay in our territory. If anything happens to any of the locals the Sheriff will come and they will stop cooperating with us and will no longer look the other way when campers and other idiots go missing. It should take only a few days for more to show up. It is summer time which means we'll be pretty busy.'

"So you two…" Freddy gestured to the bed and Lisa instantly picked up a knife wielding it threateningly.

"Freddy do you want to get stabbed some more? Because I sure as hell don't." Sidney spat at him.

"Maybe I do. Payback for that month of torture I had to endure at Westin Hills with you." He rasped with a sharp toothed grin.

"I know it'll be hard but please try not to stab him. It hurts me too." She pleaded to Lisa.

"Yeah like this!" The demon laughed as his blades reappeared onto his hand and he cut his index finger off with them causing Sidney to cry out as hers fell to the floor beside his. She let out another shriek of pain before he healed himself healing her as well.

"What is wrong with you! Do you want me to snap? Is that what you want? For me to actually go insane?!" She demanded getting right in his face. He couldn't help himself and pulled her into a kiss. Sidney used all the strength she had and shoved him off of her.

"No ok, that's not what I want. I'm sorry, I'll stop. This is not an easy situation to be in for me. You know that." The demon admitted and waved his blades away before pulling her back down onto the bench with him.

Lisa let out a whistle interrupting them before he could wrap his arms around her and practically shoved the notebook at them.

'What the hell are you two?'

"That… is a long story. I'll tell you, but I have to ask, where in the heck am I sleeping? I would also love some food." Sidney admitted and Lisa nodded grabbing a few notebooks and pens and motioned for them to follow her. She quickly wrote something down.

'It's a bit of a walk underground but you can stay in my house.' Lisa grabbed a knife that was painted orange and stabbed it into the plank of wood above the tunnel they were taking before heading down it.

Freddy stayed mostly silent barely adding to the conversation and stopped her a few times from revealing too much as Sidney explained to Lisa what exactly they were and how they came to be at Crystal Lake in the first place as they walked the damp dimly lit tunnel. There was a lot of curious head tilting from Lisa and it wasn't until they mentioned the cult like people that Freddy had killed earlier that day did she write anything down.

Apparently, there was a cult that they saved a young girl from a few years ago. Lisa didn't seem too keen on mentioning the girls name or revealing much on what kind of cult they were and it made Freddy wonder as she continually gave him the death glare.

"You know who I am don't you?" The demon rasped glaring at her getting annoyed that he couldn't just read her mind. Lisa's expression never changed and she just blankly stared at him and gave him no indication of an answer as they made it to a ladder made up of wood and metal bars in the wall that led up to a trap door. As they climbed he searched the memories of the cultist he killed earlier in an attempt to figure it out but the more he tried the more he realized that there were chunks of memories missing from each of them.

She knows something I know it. He whispered to Sidney.

I think you're being paranoid. She told him as they reached the top of the ladder.

Lisa flung open the door and disappeared. Freddy and Sidney found themselves in darkness until the lights flicked on. They were standing in the middle of a rather nice looking living room just behind the couch. Sidney was surprised at how nice and large the place was considering what their underground home looked like.

"I like your house." She admitted looking around. Lisa nodded and motioned for her to follow and glared at Freddy telling him to stay put. The demon let out a low growl at the silent woman as she took her down the hall and into what looked like a guest bedroom she turned on the light and opened the door on the far side of the room revealing a bathroom.

"Thank you so much." Sidney smiled as she sat on the edge of the bed and Lisa jotted something down.

'Help yourself to anything in the fridge. I'm going to go help Jason clean up the mess you guys made in the lake and get you your stuff from your car. Just please stay here. I can't guarantee Jason won't just kill Freddy if he finds him wandering around.'

"I'll make sure he doesn't go anywhere. He's too busy being overly protective to leave me anyways." She reassured her and the silent woman nodded before stepping into the hallway.

Lisa glared at Freddy again as she made her way to the trap door and double checked her pockets before staring the demon down one last time. 'Stay here.' She silently demanded 'Or else..' she made a stabbing gesture at him before closing the door behind her. With the twitch of his head the couch moved over the door blocking it.

"Put it back." Sidney said with her arms crossed as she stood in the hallway. Freddy groaned as the couch moved back to its original spot.

"And by the way I'm not being overly protective. I just don't want either of us to get beheaded or stabbed in the head!" He rasped.

"I'm not stupid Freddy! This is more than just self-preservation. You care about me. I know you don't like to talk about your feelings but…" She was silenced as he appeared in front of her and stabbed his blades through her throat.

I already told you we're together. What does it matter, just let it go! The demon demanded.

Yes, it does matter to me. Dammit stop brushing me off like you don't care for me other than keeping me alive. Just admit… Her thoughts completely ceased as he pulled her into a crushing kiss healing her as he phased them through the wall and onto the bed in the next room.

Sitting on top of her he kissed her neck and she attempted to pull away from him.

"Wait… what if they…"

"I don't care." He whispered seductively into her ear before his lips met with hers again. Giving in she wrapped her arms and legs around him pulling him completely on top her.

You ungrateful demon! If you don't stop this instant I will send my sweet Jason back after you! The dark woman's voice warned the both of them causing them to stop. Sidney released Freddy shoving him off of her.

"Who in the fuck are you!" The demon demanded as he sat up in bed. "I'll kill you!"

You can't kill what's already dead demon.

"Wanna bet? If I can kill a ghost I can kill you too!" Freddy threatened looking around in the hopes that she'd show herself. She laughed around them.

Just behave while they clean up the mess you left. The woman warned before turning silent.

"Show yourself bitch!" He rasped becoming annoyed that now not only once but twice he was interrupted by this angry disembodied voice instead of getting what he wanted from Sidney.

"Leave her alone. I'm pretty sure that's Jason's mother. Don't go pissing her off. Weren't you paying attention earlier? If she wants us dead she just has to give him the word." She pointed out sitting on the edge of the bed.

She's right you know. The voice taunted causing Freddy to growl. Sidney put her hand on his shoulder and she shrugged it off and walked through the wall and into the next room after a moment she could hear his raspy laugh.

"Sid come here." He laughed and she went around and down the hall into what she guessed was the master bedroom. It was large with a door that led outside and what looked like another trap door to the tunnels below was beside the bed. Before she could look any further Freddy grabbed her by the shoulders and turned her gaze to the bed. It was a king sized bed made up nicely with dark brown sheets and a plush moss green blanket. Then her eyes went wide when she noticed that there were huge chunks of the wooden head board missing. "So you won't let us enjoy ourselves but you let them!"

That is different demon. Lisa has my blessing. She is a woman worthy of my special boy. They belong together. You on the other hand, deserve no one. She spat at him and he drew his blades.

Before he could do anything, Sidney grabbed him as hard as she could by the wrist stopping him from stabbing himself or her in his anger.

"What are you going to do? Stab the air? You're arguing with a disembodied voice!" She attempted to point out how stupid he was acting. Not only was he arguing with a spirit but he was responsible for them being there in the first place and he was acting strange even for him. He glared into her as she released her grip on him and left him standing in the middle of the room.

She was getting sick of him constantly wanting to either hurt or sexually attack her if she wanted to do or talk about something that he didn't like or wanted to avoid. As she looked through the kitchen she found that it was actually well stocked. They must have a deal with someone in town to keep it like it was, she couldn't imagine Lisa going into town for groceries. She grabbed a handful of saltine crackers to snack on not wanting to eat the better stuff in there knowing it probably wasn't easy for them to come by.

Freddy walked back through the wall and into the room they were supposed to be staying in and sat on the bed with his head in his hands. What Mrs. Voorhees had said echoed in his mind. 'You on the other hand, deserve no one.' He readied his blades wanting to rip his own heart out feeling betrayed by it yet again, instead he threw his glove across the room with an angry groan. All he wanted was to be close to Sidney and he couldn't explain why, well he could, he just didn't want to admit it even to himself.

"What are you doing?" Sidney asked as she rounded into the doorway but he vanished before she set eyes on him. He laid on the roof of the cabin not wanting to deal with her questioning him. Dammit get back here! Lisa said not to leave!

You can't make me. I'll come back when they do. Freddy reassured her.

Where did you even go? She asked sitting at the counter eating more saltines. There was no answer. "Ugh, fine." She sighed in defeat and decided to look around the house a bit more.

The hallway was lined with a few pictures that she guessed were Lisa and her mother when she was younger. She dared to venture into the master bedroom again and was surprised to find a picture of who she guessed was Lisa's mom with a mother and her somewhat deformed child. Staring at it for a few moments it made her wonder if that was Jason and his mother with her. Feeling a bit uncomfortable in there she quickly returned to her room and laid on the bed just staring at the ceiling.

Freddy listened in on her thoughts the whole time. He was a bit annoyed that he didn't just go and get her stuff from the car so she'd at least be occupied enough to help keep him from trying to 'occupy' himself with her, but it was too late for that now. It was probably less than an hour he was up on the roof but it felt like forever until they got back. He heard Sidney's thoughts as the trap door opened and he appeared behind her.

Lisa came up first with Sidney's backpack and pointed from the bag to her room and put it in there for her. Jason followed and dropped her other bag at her feet and glared at Freddy and she followed his gazed and let out a groan at the demon before returning her attention at the massive masked man in front of her.

"Thank you Jason." She said with a smile and took the bag with her into her room. Before Lisa headed to her room with Jason in tow she turned to Sidney and made an eating motion. "Oh I ate a few saltines. I didn't want to eat much since it's probably not easy for you guys to get stocked up." At that Jason gave her an approving nod and Lisa jotted something down.

'We're going to clean up and then make something for dinner if you want' She offered as Freddy slowly sauntered up behind Sidney.

"Yes please, if you don't mind me joining you. He…" She pointed to the demon behind her. "Doesn't eat so... I'm just going to clean up as well." She said awkwardly as Freddy put his hands on her shoulders. Sidney tried so hard not to look annoyed but she knew that they both saw it, she even thought she saw Jason hold back a laugh as he saw her expression change.

The masked giant stared into Freddy baiting him as he scooped Lisa up in his arms and carried her into their bedroom. At that the demon's grip tightened on Sidney's shoulders until she shook him off of her.

"Hey, relax will you?" She rolled her eyes at him before heading into her room and threw her bag on the bed. Freddy closed and locked the door behind them with a small head nod. Sidney gave him a rather unamused look and laid out her pajamas on the bed before stripping down knowing it would make him crazy since he couldn't do anything with her while they were there without consequence.

Are you trying to rile me up even more? He asked outright.

You've seen me naked plenty of times. It's not my problem if you can't control yourself. Sidney pointed out as she started the water for the shower.

Freddy sat rather impatiently on the bed as he waited for her to get out of the shower. He was starting to notice how much Sidney was starting to compare what they had to what little they had seen of Lisa and Jason's relationship. Growling to himself Sidney emerged from the bathroom with only a towel wrapped on her head.

"Put some fucking clothes on." He rasped throwing her pajama shirt at her.

"You're just pissed you can't get what you want from me while we're here." She glared at him as she unraveled her hair from her towel and pulled her shirt over her head.

"You stupid bitch, you really think that's all that I care about?" Freddy demanded getting right in her face as his blades twitched at his side.

"Yeah most of the time. Besides it's not like you'd even admit it to yourself if you cared about me other than keeping me alive." Sidney pointed out as she leaned in real close to him before quickly pulling away and finished getting dressed.

The demon stood there in silence his blades still twitching annoyed that she was right. He just wanted to latch onto her and never let go. Maybe the link was getting worse again, that would explain his odd behavior, unless it was the more obvious reason that he refused to admit to.

As Sidney turned to the door ignoring his silence he grabbed her by the shoulder and turned her to him. Freddy did something she didn't expect and he pulled her into a gentle kiss and held her there on his lips. The disembodied voice hissed at them causing him to reluctantly release the surprised girl.

"Shut up, I'm allowed to fucking kiss her." He groaned. Sidney gave him a slight smile before grabbing him by the hand and dragging him down the hall and into the kitchen where Lisa was preparing some meat and vegetables onto metal skewers to be cooked.

"That looks really good." Sidney admitted. Lisa turned and mouthed to her 'Thank You'. She wanted to talk to her more but seeing as her hands were busy it would be hard for her to respond much then she had an idea. As she turned to head into her room Freddy followed causing her to stop in her tracks. "For fuck sake, I'll be right back just fucking sit down."

Freddy glared at her and just leaned on the wall by the table crossing his arms as he stared into her. Ignoring him she grabbed her tablet from her bag and bought it back into the kitchen with her.

"You can use this if you want instead of your notebooks." Sidney offered setting the stylus next to it with the notepad app open. Lisa stopped what she was doing and her eyes lit up. She hastily washed her hands and picked up the tablet and began typing on the screen.

'I haven't used anything like this in so long. I've never had one like this. I did play with a few of the newer phones from some recent campers but they unfortunately didn't have chargers. Thank you.' Lisa smiled at her as she set the device on the counter and finished up marinating and skewering the meat and veggies. Freddy watched them silently and once Jason joined them he started to hover around Sidney again as they both exchanged death glares. Jason disappeared outside to cook on the grill and Lisa and Sidney sat at the table as Lisa used the tablet to talk to her.

"Well once you're both asleep he can combine your dreams into one so you'll be together in the dream world and you'll both remember it too. I've seen it done… a few times…" Sidney trailed off remembering some of the children she had seen Freddy kill.

Lisa glared at the Demon for a second before quickly changing the subject. 'Where are you going after this?'

"Well first we're going to see if any of the books we stole from those cultists will help reverse this." Sidney gestured from her to Freddy. "Then I was going to try and see my mom and my baby sister."

You will see them. Even if we can't reverse this. Freddy promised his expression softening as he turned his gaze to her.

Dinner was rather silent as Lisa and Sidney ate at the table together. Freddy surprisingly did as asked by the silent woman and sat at the table with them while Jason stood out of view while he ate, not wanting their uninvited guests to see him unmasked.

After everything from dinner was cleaned up the killer couple were anxious to go to sleep after the dream demon swore he'd keep his promise. Freddy actually allowed Sidney to get comfortable in bed since he refused to fall asleep until he was sure Lisa and Jason were as well.

"Can you stop being so paranoid? If they were going to kill us they would have done it already." She pointed out grabbing the worried demon by the wrist pulling him onto the bed beside her. He growled at her and stared at the wall wishing see through it into the next room. Before she could say another word he willed her to sleep. Laying with his head on her chest he stared up at the ceiling in silence for a few moments until he was sure that the other two were asleep before closing his eyes.

Sidney was leaning on his couch waiting for him looking rather unamused.

"You know if we ever find a way to separate you from me it's going to take me forever to fall asleep on my own with how much you force it upon me." She huffed at him.

"I'm impatient… I just want to put them together and get back to being left alone with you. That's woman's voice is driving me mad. I can't even kiss you without her hissing at us." Freddy admitted his glowing eyes give away his anger.

"I doubt she'll be in here. You really don't like not getting your way, do you?" Sidney stared into him.

"I don't mind staying in here watching you all day. I don't mind being in the real world with you all day." Freddy explained slowly closing the gap between them. "I just hate being with you and unable to…"

The demon was at a loss for words and pulled her into a deep passionate kiss. She struggled for a few seconds before surrendering and wrapped her arms around his neck standing on her toes to reach him better. He didn't want it to end but he felt Lisa as she appeared a few feet away from them.

Freddy let out a slight groan as he reluctantly ended their kiss and Sidney slowly released her arms from around him and blushing as she set eyes on Lisa before quickly standing flat on her feet again.

"Where's Jason?" She asked then realized that she actually said it and her eyes went wide. "My voice really does work in here! Oh this is…" She turned and hugged Sidney,

"Thank you." Freddy cleared his throat causing her to glare at him. "Thank you… asshole. But don't take credit for this. It was her idea to do this, not yours."

"Not like she knows how to actually put you two together in here. That's all me, so you better tell that fucking spirit you have living with you, to leave us the fuck alone or this is your one and only time I'll do this while were here." Freddy warned pulling Sidney to him and she surprisingly allowed him to wrap his arms around her.

"We'll think about it." Lisa shot back at him and stared between the two of them for a moment then she smiled to herself a bit before speaking again. "Did you ever think that when you took her ghost friends soul that maybe you got more than just his binding spell?" The demon and his woman looked to her with interest. "Maybe you also got his feelings he had for Sidney and that's why it made you weak when you weren't with her, or why you were so drawn to her."

"We never thought of that…" Freddy admitted.

"Something to think on…" The woman laughed. "…now where is Jason!" Freddy sent her to his dream with the wave of his hand.

"Hey where did you send her?" Lisa demanded breaking free of his arms.

"To talk to Jason like you wanted. You think I want to piss them off?" The demon asked.

"No. I'm just surprised you're being so…"

"Unlike myself and actually cooperating for once?" He read her mind.

"Yeah… that." Sidney agreed as her mind wandered back to what Lisa had said about Gregory's feelings for her transferring to Freddy.

"She might be right you know." He said answering her thoughts.

"And if she is… what does that mean? Is all of this not real?" She demanded motioning between the two of them a bit afraid of the answer.

Freddy let out a small chuckle and turned her to face him before he pinned her to the wall with his body making her breath catch in her throat.

"You really don't believe I could care for someone do you?" The demon asked pressing further into her and her hands instinctively went to his shoulders as she attempted to push him off of her only to result in him wrapping his hands around her wrists pinning them to the wall holding her in place. "When we weakened the link it also weakened the feelings it gave me towards you, almost completely… they still came back, but not like before…" Sidney stared into him in confusion waiting for him to continue as she saw the redness fade from his eyes. "Before it didn't make sense why I wanted you, but now there are so many reasons…"

"Like what?" She breathed staring into his human eyes.

"Wouldn't you like to know." He smiled darkly as his eyes returned to their normal demonic color. Sidney stared back at him unsurprised that he refused to open up to her anymore.

"Will you ever admit it?" She demanded ripping her wrists free from his grip but before she could shove him away the room shifted and he had her pinned down to his bed.

"Someday… maybe... but for now…" His lips rested just barely off of hers and she tried to resist what her body wanted her to do. "Just shut the fuck up and kiss me." He rasped and his lips met with hers. Sidney wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him into a long passionate kiss.
