White Day Advice from Saori

Disclaimer: I do not own History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi.

Kei: Well this was long overdue.

Yusei: Here, we write up the one-shot sequel to our second most successful story.

Kei: Second?

Julia: It has the least amount of complaints. Not only done on White Day, but this is also the day Lightz joined the Fanfiction community as... what was his name back then?

Kei: I don't remember.

Lightz: Kenshin Yuki.

Kei: Oh yeah. Anyway, this chapter is half of the aftermath of the previous chapter. It's short though, but there isn't much we could do. It's been forever since we've read Kenichi.

XXXXXXX

"Kenichi!" History's strongest disciple turns around quickly to face his friend Miu as she catches up to him. Though this happens in a matter of seconds. She lands right next to Kenichi on the road. "Kenichi!"

"Miu?" Surprised by her sudden catching up, though not really, he notes her strained demeanor.

"Why are you in a rush?" she asks, her voice restraining to be calm.

"I just wanted to hurry up and tell Shigure thanks for the food. I mean, it may have been for Tochumaru, but I can at least thank her for the food." Kenichi cups his chin as he ponders about the meal a bit more. "She made chikama too, and so well too. Just like mom…"

"I get it, she makes good food!" Miu says, pushing him angrily. He slams hard into a pole with a loud ding of a noise released. "Uh oh. Sorry, Kenichi!"

"Ow! What was that for?" She pushes her fingers together innocently as he gets back up. He picks up the bag he dropped as well. "I almost crushed this bag of chocolates."

"I'm sorry," she says as apologetic as she could. Deep inside, she wishes she did. Even though some are from her, the rest are given from other girls.

The two continue in awkward silence making their way to Ryozanpaku. Once there they push the doors open wide, and enter the lush setting. There he sees Apachai playing a game of Othello.

He plays a piece on the board. "Your turn, Honoka!"

She places her piece, and immediately he screams in defeat. The little girl then notes her big brother and says, "Big brother," waving to him. Sadly, her enthusiasm drops at the sight of Miu beside him. 'Big boobs again…'

Walking further in after greeting his little sister, Kenichi enters the main room where he sees his mother hanging upside down from the ceiling. "Guh! Mom!" he shouts, still not used to that sight. Seeing Saori Shirahama occasion herself to Ryozanpaku to train with Shigure is not something he'll be getting used to any time soon.

Miu removes her glasses before facing Kenichi. "I'll get dressed for the spar. See you then."

"Okay, see you, Miu." With that, the two friends part ways leaving the mother and son alone.

Saori flips herself over landing on her feet. The beautiful mother turns her eyes to her son saying, "I'm so glad I was able to take part in this. It's so rewarding."

"I still can't believe you agreed to receive training from Shigure," he states.

"Well, if you weren't going to…" she tells him, causing a single tear of sweat to come down his face. She's right after all.

"It felt right to learn from her, considering she enjoys being a teacher." Saori adjusts her dougi and proceeds to perform stretches. "She told me she doesn't spend much time with you."

Sputtering follows, poor Kenichi flinching with his hand brushing against his hair with a sigh. "I guess… it's just hard. I don't want to use weapons, and that's all she's about."

"Wrong!" She gets up and approaches her son face to face, a single finger from her left hand raised. "Not everything has to be about training. Just spending time with her will make her happy."

At that, the boy thinks back to the last few times he was with Shigure. Not counting the time he bathed with her most of the time they've spent together has put his life in danger. Then again, he's made impressive strides in overcoming his fears thanks to her – swimming and death. 'Thinking about it, maybe I should do something to make it up to her.'

"But enough of that. How was school?" Saori asks, clapping her hands together up to her face. "Did you enjoy Shigure's Valentine's gift?"

"Her what?" The young disciple blinks when she refers to it as that. "Wait, you mean that bento was actually for me and not Tochumaru?"

"If it was in a heart-shaped box, it was for you." Yes, that was for him.

Upon realization, the boy goes deep in thought when it hits that Shigure went through the trouble of cooking a meal just for him. And it tastes like his mother's… "Mom, did you teach Shigure how to cook in exchange for the lessons?"

"Yes, I did." Wow. That was so sweet of her to do. "And? I notice some chocolates are in your bag."

"Oh!" Putting his thoughts on Shigure aside, he shows her the gifts he received from the many girls who he has the fortune of knowing. "I received chocolate from Renka and Raichi too…" Tears fall when it comes to mind that he didn't receive anything from Miu, but then again if Shigure's meal was his gift than maybe Miu's lunch for him was too.

"That's so great, Kenichi!" says Saori with a smile, eyes closed with pride that her son has gained the hearts of so many girls. "And, what did you have planned for them?"

"Planned?" asks the boy, his tone showing how oblivious he is to her words' true meaning.

The beautiful mother sighs, understanding this behavior. "On Valentine's Day, girls give chocolates to boys they like. But, you gotta pay them back four weeks later on March 14th."

Here, the boy freezes. His muscles constrict. His face turns blue. He almost drops the bag. "I do?"

"That's White Day," she tells him. "How do you not know that boys have to pay back the girls who gave them sweets a month later?"

'Because no one's ever given me chocolates before!' is his rational mental shout.

Saori pats her son's shoulder. "Kenichi, you accepted those gifts, which means you accepted their feelings. So you have to take responsibility and respond to them."

Saori's words remain true and right. Nothing she said was wrong in the slightest, and it's only right that he pays them back for spending money and/or making these sweets. To not do so would go against his ideology. 'But I don't know what to get them! Not to mention all my money goes to this place now!'

"I'm heading home now." She leans down to hug her son. "I know you'll do the right thing."

With that, Saori Shirahama makes her exit from Ryozanpaku. As she does, passing by out the door, Miu can be seen leaning against the door with eyes downtrodden. 'Kenichi's mom is backing Shigure…'

Later that afternoon, following a brutal sparring session with Miu, Kenichi strolls off holding an ice pack to his cheek. While walking he happens upon two of his teachers entering. Recognizing Sakaki and Apachi through his bruised eye, an idea comes upon his mind's forefront.

'I know I shouldn't… but…' Sighing, he approaches his teachers.

Before he could, the boy's suddenly halted by a hand reaching out and pulling at him from above. A quick turn and he sees Shigure on the ceiling staring down at him.

"Shigure!" he speaks in shock, the young master effortless in catching him by surprise as always.

"Hello, Ken…ichi." Shigure stares at him before releasing her hold on the ceiling, flipping over and landing on her feet.

Strangely, the boy feels embarrassed now. Knowing how she feels about him despite her, probably, being aware of his feelings for Miu, he's not sure what to say. Can he respond to her emotions right? Does he like her that way? Is she just as important to him as Miu? Now would be the best time to talk about it.

Sighing, Kenichi asks, "So, that meal in my bag… that was for me for Valentine's Day?"

"Yes…" She turns a dark shade of red by her cheek. "Did you like it?"

"Yes, I did! It was delicious, just like home."

"… thank you." The weapon mistress reaches her arms out and hugs him tightly. A slight stream of crimson fluid comes dripping down his left nostril at the feel of her bosom onto his chest.

Finding himself enough composure to speak, he says, "Shigure, I want to thank you for the gift! But, I don't know if I have the money to do so…"

"Money isn't necessary… for me," she replies, releasing herself from him. Her hands slide down her arms and grasp his hands. "You don't need to buy anything…for me. I just want…you."

Sighing, Kenichi nods as that's a grand statement of her. "Then, I'll spend as much time as you want."

"Good." She takes his hand and pulls, easily taking him with her. "We're going out... tonight."

"What for?"

Turning a bright red nova unmatched by any sun, Shigure says, "We're going to spend time... together... training."

Also coloring a dark red, the strongest disciple asks, "What kind of training?"

A smile graces her face as she leaves one final word. "The kind of training a boy and girl can do alone."

"...huh?"

On the side, Miu shouts, "What," and promptly follows behind before pulling him away. Thus, a tug of war begins for five seconds, ending with Shigure pulling Kenichi away.

"Kenichi and I are spending time together...Miu," Shigure tells her.

"B-B-B-But, Shigure! He's-"

"You can come too." Hearing that offer, Kenichi quickly shoots his head facing her.

Miu points at herself. "I can come too?"

A dark view forms in the master's eyes as she stares at the younger girl. "Unless you wish to fight for him..."

Almost immediately, Miu replies, "Let's go, Shigure," latching her arm around Kenichi's other arm.

"Eh? Wait! What's going-" All words the strongest disciple could make fall on deaf ears as the girls take the boy away.

Watching from above, Hayato Furinji sips a cup of tea. After finishing, the fine china shatters without him so much as moving a single finger. Eyes flash in rage. "Kenichi..." he growls.

NOW things will never be the same, but at least someone took responsibility.

Kei: ... What? What are you still doing here? The story is over. Goodbye.
