A/N: O.k. I'm still alive, lol. Sorry for the insanely ridiculous delay. This whole 'return to college' thing has been kicking my ass the past few years. Despite some set backs I'm still plodding along both with school and to a smaller degree with my recreational writing. Gave up my second job around October 2017 but that didn't free up enough time to get back to writing on any realistic manner. On the college front I strongly recommend that unless you are really comfortable with Math, never take a Summer semester Math class. I had sworn three years ago to never do so after failing an Algebra class. Stupidly convinced myself that it couldn't have been 'that bad' and tried a seven week Summer Calculus class. Pulled a withdrawal on that one after the second test blew up in my face. Going by many of my classmates, even the ones passing taking this class during the Summer was a mistake. If anyone reading this tries a Summer Math class anyway, well good luck I hope you do much better than I did.

Anyway, I am my own beta and I apologize in advance for any mistakes I missed. 'M' rating is there mostly for some profanity here and there.

Gifts and Friends – Book One: chapter 11

-ooo-

Although his week suspension was going by quickly and almost over, yet Naruto found himself to be even more aggravated by the lack of his team and odd sensei than he did when they were around. That surprised him, especially when he realized that he missed the moody bastard the most.

"Shino." Naruto said quietly.

"Yes?"

"Is it weird that I'm missing my lousy team, even Sasuke? Actually I think I miss him more than the others."

"Well..." Shino paused. "He is your rival."

"My rival? I don't really know what you mean. You and Ino are my best friends. What makes him different?"

"Ino and I are your preferred partners. You singular focus with our friendship is to work together and help us be better Ninja, while we do the same for you. Sasuke on the other hand is someone you are trying to surpass. There is also a kinship between the two of you that has been in place for years. Ever since he lost his family you have likely felt that without realizing it. Unlike you though he enjoys preferential treatment by most of the village while you are at best, ignored by most. On the surface he is also one of those that ignores you. When you let him." Shino chuckled.

Naruto laughed at that.

"Yeah, bastard can't ignore me when I don't want to be ignored."

"He also does better in a standard school environment than you do."

"Doesn't everybody?" Naruto griped with a frown.

Shino chuckled as Naruto frowned momentarily before looking pensive, he had a lot to think about now.

-ooo-

The toads had dropped off another scroll the other night about writing seals on materials other than paper and he couldn't get his thoughts off of it. Before he could go any further though he almost bumped into someone.

"Hey kid." The young man stated.

Naruto looked at the man with a head wrap who was chewing on a senbon needle. Interestingly enough he immediately recognized and remembered the man who he had faced off against with Shino and Ino in the Arena weeks ago.

"Genma san!... Um, sorry Shiranui san." Naruto said as he quickly bowed his head.

"Pfft, don't stress too much kid, I'm 'just' a Special Jounin after all and you're practically a Chunin going by what the Hokage himself said." Genma replied with a chuckle.

"Heh, heh, thanks! I'm in enough trouble as it is. I really don't think I could handle the old man piling up a bunch of remedial politeness classes or some other crap to teach me manners on top of being suspended from missions and I really don't want to risk being sent back to the academy, even for a few days." Naruto said as Genma raised an eyebrow at the 'old man' crack.

"Well at least you're the first Genin to catch that damn cat through brute force. Besides as much as Iruka likes you I doubt he'd ever let you back in the academy as a student. You were the biggest pranking pain in the ass before you could make dozens of those damn shadow clones as well as the ninjutsu you pulled at the arena." Genma laughed.

"Man, I haven't been able to pull off any real pranks in 'forever'." Naruto sighed.

"Too much training with Kakashi, eh?"

"I wish. We mostly do 'team work' bullshit. Which is usually just an excuse for my team mates to use me for practice. I've been training mostly on my own since becoming a Genin."

"Really? With the way you and the rest of your temporary team tore up the arena I would have thought he'd really be pushing your training especially. You're actually well into Chunin level with the way you use those damn clones together with your kawarimi. Hell damn near every Jounin I know would love to be able to use those shadow clones even a tenth of the way you do. Your Shunshin is pretty good too. I don't think I've ever seen a Genin pull off one like you did to protect that Yamanaka girl."

"I had to." Naruto hesitated as he looked down at the ground before continuing.

"After you screwed up my Kawarimi jutsu it was the only thing I could do. It was pretty much the first time I pulled that one off perfectly. My landings usually totally suck. I... I don't have many real friends... I'll do anything to protect the ones I have."

There was an awkward silence between them for a few moments.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that. The three of you surprised the hell out of me. So having trouble with the Shunshin?".

"Yeah, I can go, like kilometers if I really pump up my chakra but like I said my landings suck and actually landing where I want to is more luck than I'll usually admit to." Naruto sighed.

"Sound like you need to work on your mid level chakra control exercises more." Genma laughed.

"Mid level?" Naruto asked, obviously puzzled.

"Yeah, you know start with tree walking and then water walking...". Genma trailed off as he saw the confused expression on Naruto's face.

"You know what, I think I've got something that will help."

Genma pulled a mid sized scroll out of one of his vests lower pockets. He unrolled about a third of it, passing seal after seal that Naruto immediately realized were all storage seals. He settled on one in the long series, lay the scroll flat and triggered the seal with a bit of chakra. With a puff of smoke a pile of field rations appeared.

"Damn it." Genma muttered.

He channeled more chakra to reactivate the seal, making the rations return into the seal. He activated the next seal in line and this time a small pile of scrolls appeared. Genma shuffled through them before smiling and pulling a couple out and tossing them to Naruto.

"What are these?" Naruto asked, the suspicion in his voice obvious.

"Tree walking and water walking. Master the tree walking first. Seems backwards, especially when you think about falling off of a tree as opposed to sinking into a meter or so of water but it takes a lot more control to pull off the water walking."

"Why are you helping me anyway?" Naruto asked with a tinge of suspicion creeping into his voice.

"Eh, I feel like I owe you for that damn kunai I stabbed you with. Man, the Hokage gave me quite an earful over that. Besides you're really not all that bad, despite all of those damn pranks. Tell you what, I've seen you at Ichiraku's a bunch of times. A couple of scrolls for accidentally stabbing you is a bit on the lame side, how about I treat you to lunch too?"

"Are you serious?" the young genin's eyes widened.

Roughly and hour later Genma watched as Naruto disappeared with an enthusiastic wave. The special Jounin's wallet was somewhat lighter after satisfying Naruto's appetite but he felt better over stabbing the kid. The kid was actually pretty funny and had a good knack for telling stories about his training even though it was obvious to Genma that he wasn't giving any real details on many things that the special Jounin was beginning to wonder about. Genma was still recovering from the shock of Naruto of all people asking him some very technical questions about that scroll of seals he had used to pull those two instruction scrolls out of.

"He's really not too bad once you get to know him, isn't he?" a soft voice broke the silence.

Genma started as he spun to see the Hokage standing next to him.

"Hokage-sama!"

"Relax. I actually wanted to talk to you about Naruto and his Team Gray teammates. Iruka has expressed some concerns that Naruto isn't... um, how do I say this? Iruka is worried about Kakashi's laid back teaching style along with the personality clashes Naruto has with his genin team, isn't the best match for some of the finer work that Naruto would benefit from. I'm asking you to take the three of them aside a few times a week and see what you can do to help him out. I'm also certain that the three of them have great potential to become an extremely effective team with what they showed in the arena."

"Actually I would love to but I'm up to rotate over to a three week long border patrol mission in a couple of days."

"Since you don't mind working with these kids, I'll pull you from the 'boredom patrol' rotation and make sure that you get some more local missions." The Hokage replied with a chuckle.

"That actually sounds pretty awesome." Genma said.

"Stop by the tower later. I'd like you to go over their assessments from the Academy and from each of their Jounin sensei.

-ooo-

The next day later Naruto had managed to catch Shino and convinced his friend that he had to see his new work that was based on the latest scroll that the toads had dropped off.

"You said you had something new?"

With a maniacal grin that made Shino slightly nervous, Naruto's eyes get visibly brighter.

"Hell Yeah! Watch this!" Naruto boomed as he pulled out a kunai.

Shino looked on with interest. he color of the kunai in Narutos hand was slightly off and the wrapping around the handle was also different than a typical kunai. Shino' interest spiked as he realized that there was a seal of some sort actually engraved in the blade and there also looked to be seal in the handle wrap as well.

"Now this is going to knock your socks off." Naruto stated with absolute certainty.

Shino hoped that his friend didn't mean that literally but worried that he had. He was surprised to see the dull gray of the kunai begin to glow with a dim blue light as Naruto channeled a hefty amount of his chakra into the blade. It was becoming easier to see despite the bright sunlight that should have washed the blue glow away into invisibility. Naruto's arm blurred as he threw the kunai at a large bolder on the far side of the training ground. Shino's eyebrows rose over his sunglasses as he noted how deeply the kunai had buried itself into the rock, it was easily five centimeters deeper than usual. Before he could even start to say something there was an incredible flash of light and they were both knocked back by a massive explosion that utterly destroyed the boulder and left their ears ringing.

"Hey!" A voice called out causing Naruto and Shino to both turn in surprise to see Genma standing at the edge of the training field with Ino.

"Genma-san!" Naruto yelled out with a smile that intrigued Shino.

"Hey kid, Aburame san. Do I even want to know what it is that you're messing around with to make an explosion that powerful?" Genma asked as he nodded to each of them.

"Just working on super charging some explosive tags." Naruto answered.

"Well, the Hokage spoke to me yesterday and we're going to be trying out something a little odd with you three. After that weird assessment fight the Hokage has decided to make 'Team Gray' a sort of secondary squad with the four of us. This is in no way going to be anything that will replace the setups of your current squads. Think of it as a type of supplemental work."

"Awesome! Are we going to be doing actual missions together?" Naruto asked as he practically started bouncing.

"I've no idea kid. I'm almost certain that we'll run an occasional D-rank mission together. Maybe with a bit of luck and if the scheduling works out we might even pull a C-rank with this setup." Genma replied with a chuckle.

"Oh man! You have no idea how much I've been dreaming of this! Ever since the arena I've wanted this to be real! We're going to be the best team ever!" Naruto's volume was steadily increasing.

"Would you relax already and stop yelling! It was practically a guarantee that we would be working together sometimes after that silly show we went through." Ino scolded Naruto.

"Really? Man I had mostly convinced myself that Team Gray was going to be a real thing and that it was only a matter of time before the Old Man realized how awesome we were working together but part of me had doubts. Shino?" Naruto turned to his friend.

"Indeed. Ino is correct as usual. In addition to our rather impressive performance, temporary Genin squads with different individuals are created and disbanded all of the time depending on mission parameters and availability of personal."

"Seriously Naruto, isn't Shikamaru subbing for you right now on your teams first C-rank mission?" Ino said with an evil grin.

"Yeah but that's 'cause I screwed up." Naruto said as he looked down.

The other three all chuckled softly at the embarrassment coloring Narutos face.

"O.K. Why don't we all meet here tomorrow morning at 8:00 then? I already spoke to Kurenai-san as well as Asuma-san, so Shino and Ino are clear. Naruto you're still officially waiting for your regular team to return so you shouldn't have any problem meeting us."

"Damn Right I'll Be There!" Naruto yelled out, causing Ino to flinch.

-ooo-

Over the next week they had actually met with Genma every other day for training sessions. Genma had them working heavily on combination moves and making sure that all three of them got tree walking down as a solid skill. Shino had the best control for their level and was the first to walk up a tree after a few hours of practice. Ino was quick to follow about an hour later leaving them to give Naruto some good natured ribbing on his lack of success.

"You do realize that you most likely would have mastered this skill if you completely focused on it as you have done with the jutsu we learned together, don't you?" Shino asked Naruto with a mostly hidden smirk.

"Yeah, I guess. I just can't my mind off of some seals I'm working on. This would be so much easier if I could be learning two things at once." Naruto griped as he looked over to Ino practicing a Taijutsu kata while standing on a tree trunk about a three meters from the ground.

Shino paused as a faint memory entered his thoughts but before he could realize what it was, the half thought was gone as Naruto rambled on about the chakra capacitor seal he had used with those hideously expensive chakra metal kunai.

"Hey, you guys really do know your primary elemental affinities right?." Genma stated interrupting the conversation.

"Yep!" Naruto quipped with a huge smile.

"Yamanaka! Come on over here!" Genma yelled out.

She nodded, flipped off of the tree and walked over to the rest of them.

"I want you to change up the combination moves you've been working on. All of them are damn impressive but I think you can do better. Now, I'm pretty sure that Naruto is Wind natured, Shino is Earth natured and Ino is Water natured, right? Also it's pretty obvious that you all know this. With that it's especially interesting that the three of you started out using the worst Ninjutsu for your affinities when you face me in the arena. It was a very good tactic for you three at that time. It is unusual for three recently graduated Genin to be able to do Ninjutsu like that. To be able to pull off any like that is very likely to surprise your opponents. To use your weakest ones first and then pull out ones aligned with your primary affinities allowed you to basically pull off the same surprise tactic twice in one fight. I have noticed that all of the other combination moves you work with use your primary affinities. Something the three of you really could have used though was to switch off with Ninjutsu that is neutral to your affinities."

"Neutral?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah, Naruto you're chakra is aligned with wind so you have a hard time controlling lightning ninjutsu and fire ninjutsu will likely cause you problems as well. Earth and water techniques on the other hand, while they won't be as easy as wind techniques are for you they will be much easier than lightning and fire. Since the three of you are likely to work together often over the years a good strategy would be for each of you to work on elemental ninjutsu that will cover your team mates weaknesses. For Ino, wind and lightning are neutral, it's unlikely that Ino will ever be able to match Naruto with wind techniques but she will easily exceed his skill with lightning. So Miss Yamanaka I think you should be working on both water and lightning techniques. That combination can be especially devastating when put together. As lightning is also strong against earth by learning lightning skills she can also cover Shino's weakness to that element category. For Shino, his choices are wind and fire. The same thing with Ino learning wind also applies to Shino but if he puts more time into fire techniques he can cover both Ino and Naruto's weakness to that category. Naruto you're a powerhouse in the chakra department but your control is lousy. I think you should focus on both earth and water to support your team mates. Your raw power can be especially helpful to Ino as you should be able to pull up more massive amounts of water from further away than she can but once it's available she can do far more with it. The three of you can likely come up with some especially deadly combinations with the affinities you have if you increase your team work just a little more and put some creative energy into the ideas. With the three of you I'm pretty certain that there's no lacking as far as creativity goes." Genma laughed softly at the intensely serious expressions the three Genin all had on their faces.

-ooo-

Towards the end of the next day the three friends found themselves utterly exhausted. Their normal training ground was completely destroyed. There was one especially large crater near the center of the field that was still pouring off rather large amounts of smoke with an occasional tuft of flame appearing as well as a rarer but still present crackle of visible electricity arcing from one random spot to another.

"Holy Shit!" Ino exclaimed as she fell on her butt to sit next to Shino who had fallen into a sitting position almost a minute earlier.

"Indeed." He replied, obviously exhausted.

Naruto was somehow still standing with his mouth open and his eyes wide as he surveyed the massive crater.

"That. Was. Fucking. Awesome!" The short blond exclaimed.

"I think it's safe to say that we are done for today." Ino said, barely above a whisper.

The boys simply nodded in response.

"I am definitely going to need a few bowls of ramen after that. You guys want to join me?" Naruto said in a rough voice.

"Ugh. Ah fuck it, whatever. I don't know how you can basically live off of nothing but ramen but I'm definitely going to need a massive amount of calories after burning off that much chakra." Ino growled out as she looked over to Shino, who simply nodded in response.

Naruto's face lit up with a huge smile as with a quick hand sign a clone appeared and the two Narutos helped his team mates to their feet. Despite his obvious joy at both the success of their latest combination and the fact that his friends were joining him for dinner he was oddly quiet as the clone vanished into smoke and the three friends slowly headed off to Ichiraku's.

Shortly after they left the field three figures appeared.

"Holy Shit is right." Iruka exclaimed as he looked over the smoldering training area.

"Damn, I certainly didn't expect to see anything like this so quickly when I told them to work on combinations of their neutral elemental ninjutsu that worked well together." Genma said, still stunned at the sheer amount of damage three fresh Genin had done.

"While impressive it was still a rather slow attack. Any shinobi Chunin or above should be able to easily avoid it unless they were trapped somehow." The Hokage said as his eyes wandered over the damaged area.

"There's certainly plenty of uses for such an attack. I can't imagine what these three are going to be like in a few more years." Iruka replied.

"They're going to surpass the Sannin." Genma stated with absolute certainty.

"That is quite possible." The Hokage answered with a thoughtful expression as he raised his hand in the air and gave a slight wave.

A team of four Chunin appeared, with obviously stunned expressions as they looked over the damage. They looked to the Hokage who nodded and they immediately began repairing the field with a mix of jutsu. Mostly earth based of course but also with plenty of water jutsu mixed in from time to time.

-ooo-

"I did it!" Naruto yelled out as he spotted Shino heading his way.

"You finally have the tree walking skill mastered?"

"Ummm, yeah that, well, almost. This is something else."

Do I even want to know?" The seemingly subdued Aburame asked.

"Heh, sure you do. I finally figured out a way to dampen the wind nature of my chakra for charging my shock tags. I'm getting a hundred percent of them to fire now." Naruto answered smugly.

"How did you finally manage to do that?"

"I'd been rereading and rereading my Mom's scroll on chakra buffers and there was a brief mention of chakra filters. With a bit of research I was able to find out the basics of setting up a chakra filter and coupled it to a few buffers in a separate seal array that I use to charge the shock tags!"

Before either could say more Genma appeared before them with a burst of leaves.

"Perfect, two out of three on the first shot. We've got a mission. Grab your gear, figure at least a week and meet me back at the mission office immediately."

They didn't get a chance to reply before Genma's hands blurred and he disappeared, leaving several leaves swirling in the air.

Naruto and Shino nodded to each other before they hurried off to their respective homes. Each quickly gathered up their mission supplies, stuffing plenty of field rations into their packs before they rushed over to the mission office at the Hokage tower. They almost ran into each other at the entrance, managing to arrive at the same time. They didn't say a word as they headed up the stairs and through the doors to find Genma and Ino were already there waiting for them.

Iruka was the first to speak.

"We received an emergency communication from Shikamaru. They ran into an S-rank missing nin, apparently Zabuza from Mist. Kakashi managed to fight him to what Shikamaru believed to be a draw despite Kakashi seemingly killing Zabuza. Kakashi fell into a severe case of chakra exhaustion but according to Shikamaru Kakashi agreed with him that Zabuza is likely alive. We are officially activating 'Team Gray' with Shiranui san as a temporary but still official Genin squad commander. There is a chance that you may encounter the missing nin that nearly bested Kakashi as well as his possible accomplice. We are ridiculously short handed and although this is being labeled a 'B' rank mission we believe that it potentially could become an 'A' rank mission. Normally there's no way in hell we'd send three raw Genin and a Special Jounin into something like this but as I said before, we are ridiculously short handed and not only are the three of you are an exceptional group but there's already a three Genin squad with their Jounin-sensei there. Shiranui-san also knows the three of you best as well as having several skills himself that may come in handy. You might need that phenomenal team work the three of you displayed in the arena.

-ooo-

Naruto suppressed a shiver of excitement as they passed through the gate. He had passed through many times before but this was the first time for a real mission. About ten meters past the massive gate doors Genma stopped them.

"How have you been improving with that Shunshin of yours?" Genma asked.

"Shiranui sensei... well a bit I guess. I've actually been focusing more on the two scrolls you gave me. I've got the tree walking down. That gave me a bit of improvement for my Shunshin but not as much as I had hoped. I'm still falling into the water more often than not and I've been holding off on working on my Shunshin until I get that down pat."

"Makes sense. When you said you could go kilometers with your Shunshin, how serious were you?"

"Well actually I'm not sure, I never really pushed a lot of chakra into any of my Shunshins." Naruto laughed with a bit of embarrassment.

Ino snorted as she tried to stop from laughing.

"Something to add Yamanaka san?" Genma asked.

"You know he went almost three kilometers the first time he used that jutsu, flew almost over the wall, breaking both the top of the wall as well as his leg."

"Hey! It wasn't even two and a half kilometers!" Naruto protested.

"Hmmm." Genma looked at Naruto thoughtfully as he stopped chewing on his ever present senbon needle and pulled a scroll out of one of his vest pockets.

Naruto became extremely focused as Genma unrolled the scroll while skimming over the sealing script. The smallest of grins appeared on Shino's face for a moment as he watched Naruto's eyes race over the writing on the scroll. Ino found herself trying not to laugh as she caught Shino's grin as well as the look of intense concentration that Naruto wore.

"Hey! Shiranui sensei, is that a linking seal?" Naruto asked.

"Not bad Uzumaki. It basically is a variation of a linking seal, this ties together something I picked up from the Fourth Hokage. It's got some modifications that I think will really help us out with cutting some time off of our travel. Naruto I want you to stand in this empty circle of the seal here. Ino, you stand on the seal directly in front of him and Shino you stand in front of Ino." Genma said as he unrolled more of the scroll and stood in a second empty circle on the scroll that was surrounded by sealing script.

"So what does this do?" Ino asked.

"Think of it as a way of linking Shinobi in order to super charge a Shunshin. The Shinobi in the first circle is the one who sets up and initializes the Shunshin variant, the Shinobi in the last circle pumps as much chakra as they can into the seal which is channeled to the lead Shinobi. The two in the middle are simply pulled along for the ride by the seal itself. A four nin team would normally rotate out the one pumping chakra, giving the other two a chance to rest. Most of the Shinobi that I've had go through this can generally power four jumps each with me running the primary jutsu. The best I've ever gotten out of it is just shy of three kilometers for each jump but that was with a group of Special Jounin. Naruto here though has the deepest chakra well I've ever encountered. I suspect from what I've seen he should easily be able to push this over 10 kilometers if not more and he can probably power a dozen jumps on his own before he needs a real break." Genma said with a smile as he looked over the three genin that each had a thoughtful look on their faces.

-xxx-

"Hey Shika!" Ino yelled out as she spotted her Team 10 team mate.

To Ino's surprise her long time friend didn't mutter about how troublesome she was. The look of relief in his eyes as he looked up and saw her along with Team Gray probably wasn't noticeable to many who didn't know him extremely well but it was as obvious as flashing lights to her. It was definitely enough to make her extremely nervous about this mission.

"You guys made it here much faster than I expected." He said quietly as he looked over the group that was walking up to him.

"Naruto and Shiranui sensei managed to pump up a bunch Shunshin jumps and we got to the outskirts of this village in just a few hours. It was incredible!" Ino replied.

"Where's the rest of your team?" Genma asked.

"Kakashi sensei is probably asleep. Although he's been able to get up and move around a bit, he's still recovering. Sakura has been staying close to him for the most part. I've no idea exactly where Sasuke disappears to but he's out training. He's still having trouble with the tree walking that Kakashi showed us the other day."

"O.k. Naruto, Shino you two run through a quick scout to the North. Head out about two kilometers and circle back. If you run across Sasuke tell him to head back here. Ino you've taken a few supplemental medic classes since leaving the academy, so Shikamaru will take you to Kakashi. He's probably fine and if he does need anything it's almost certainly above your skill level right now but I still want you to look him over and check Sakura as well. I'll run through a scout along a Southern perimeter and we'll all meet back here in an hour."

Genma quickly vanished. Naruto and Shino both nodded to Ino before they quickly headed off in a different direction.

"You o.k. Shika?" Ino asked softly.

"Yeah. Damn it was close though. That Zabusa freak was insanely scary. We got lucky though and after he managed to get the upper hand over Kakashi, Sasuke and I managed to reverse things and Kakashi utterly destroyed the freak. I'm certain though that he isn't dead though and it's only a matter of time before he returns. I don't think I've ever been so relieved to see you and Naruto."

"Watch it buster. I'm sure you watched the video of Team Gray in the arena, didn't you?"

"Well yeah, of course I did. Only an idiot wouldn't watch that match if they were involved at all. I got a copy of the tape from my dad and Chogi brought Kiba along with Hinata to watch it. These two morons I'm with now had no interest. Man, I can't believe that I'm actually starting to feel bad for Naruto. This team really sucks."

"Well watch your wise ass comments, Team Gray is way better now than we were that day in the arena! We've been training together almost non stop since you were pulled for this mission. Shiranui-san has been our acting Jounin-sensei and he's been great. We pulled off a combination attack the other day that was ridiculously incredible." Ino laughed at the look of growing horror on Shikamaru's face.

There was no way that he was ever going to be able to sit back and enjoy Asuma-sensei's laid back training routines again with Ino this fired up. He could easily see it now, she was going to drive the rest of Team 10 into working their asses off or she was going to drive them all insane trying. He let out a great sigh. That was all a future worry, right now they had to survive the mess they were in now and get back home before he had to worry about a driven Ino Yamanaka.
