Wuvey
Five-year-old Wyatt Matthew Halliwell was very sad. He had just overheard his mommy and daddy discussing his little brother Chris and his nightmares. Very recently, a demon had attacked the manor and tried to kidnap his brother. His mommy had instructed him to stay with Chris in his room, protected inside his shield. But Wyatt was a big boy now and he wanted to help his mommy, aunt Paige and aunt Phoebe in vanquishing the bad guy. Unfortunately, as soon as Wyatt left the room and orbed downstairs, one of the demons had shimmered to Chris and Wyatt's room to kidnap his little brother. Chris's frantic cry had alerted the sister and aunt Paige had immediately orbed upstairs with a vanquishing potion and taken care of the intruder. His mommy was mad at him for leaving his baby brother unprotected. Wyatt's guilt was increased ten fold by the fact that Chris had been having nightmares ever since.
Wyatt was clutching his Wuvey bear tightly in his little arms and thinking. Whenever he had felt bad, Wuvey had been there for him. Hugging his teddy bear always made him feel better. Whether he's had a nightmare or his mommy had been mad at him for being naughty, even when the bad guys attacked, hugging Wuvey seemed to make everything better. Wyatt made a decision in his mind and set out to find his baby brother, Wuvey clutched securely under his left arm.
"Hey Chrissie!" Wyatt called when he saw Chris in the conservatory, playing with his fire engine. Chris looked up at his brother with his big green eyes.
"Hey Wy," Chris chirped and turned his attention back to the toy at hand. Wyatt settled on the floor near Chris.
"I have something for you," Wyatt said hesitantly. This caught Chris's attention.
"What is it?" Chris asked curiously. Wordlessly, Wyatt offered Wuvey to his brother. Chris's eyebrows rose in surprise.
"Wuvey? But he's yours. Won't you miss him?" He asked curiously. Wyatt hesitated for a moment before answering.
"I will. But that's OK. You need him more than I do," Wyatt said.
"Why? What does he do?" Chris asked still observing his big brother curiously.
"Whenever I feel bad, he makes me feel all better. He also helps me go back to sleep after I have a bad dream," Wyatt explained still holding Wuvey out for Chris. But Chris didn't make a move to accept the gift.
"It's alright Wy, You can keep Wuvey. I don't need him. But thanks", Chris said and Wyatt's face fell. He had offered to help his brother with his most valuable possession and his brother had, although very politely, returned his gift. Wyatt couldn't help but feel rejected.
"Why not?" Wyatt asked trying very hard not to show the sadness in his voice. Chris looked up at him with those hypnotic eyes and invited himself to sit in his big brother's lap.
"Because you will miss him and I already have my own teddy," He answered as if this should have been the most obvious thing.
"No, you don't," Wyatt said incredulously.
"Yes, I do," Chris said snuggling with his big brother, "and his name is Wyatt."
