I DO NOT OWN SOUND OF MUSIC. c: I just love the movie.

"You are sixteen, going on seventeen…" Liesel still remembered Rolfe's words a few months ago. He had been so kind back then… so sweet. But now… he was standing in front of the Von Trapp family, pointing a pistol at Georg's heart. What had he become? A Nazi, of course – he was one of them now. He owed no loyalty to the Von Trapps. However, Liesel still could not get that image out of her head – and that song, of course – when she was in the glass house and Rolfe was telling her about how he would protect her. And they kissed there, too. But now, he was putting her family in danger. He had completely gone against everything that he had told her. She felt terrible. "I'll take care of you," he told her kindly. Liesel trembled, like a deer caught in the headlights. She shut her eyes and felt tears streaming down her cheeks wildly; she couldn't stop crying. Maria had her arm firmly around the young woman's body, as if protecting her. Georg stood in front of them all. "It's you that we want. Come with us, or I'll shot." Rolfe spoke, his pistol pointing straight at Georg's heart. Liesel could see that his hand was trembling, too. Rolfe shut his eyes tightly… Any moment… he could shot father. He could shoot mother. He could shoot my brothers, my sisters. Me. Why? Stop, Rolfe, please. Liesl could not even look at him now. Too much pain rose in her heart. One wrong move and he'll shoot.

Rolfe trembled. He didn't want to open his eyes – he would see Liesel's face. He knew that she must be crying. He must hate him so much. He even hated himself for having to do this. He now knew that there would be no more chance for them to be together. What he thought had been a perfect love story had been damaged by the Nazis. He felt awful. Now, what? What would he do – would he shoot? His heart pounded. He could tell that the Von Trapp family was waiting with anticipation, pondering on what he would do next. He, honestly, didn't even know. The young woman who he promised to take care of – who he claimed that he was strong and brave enough to protect was now in danger – and it was because of him. He couldn't stand it. Liesel… His finger fumbled with the trigger. He didn't know if he wanted to shoot. But his orders… "Rolf, please!" Liesel shouted, broken-heartedly. "Please stop!" her voice startled him. He felt a tear roll down his cheek. I'm sorry, Liesel. I love you. He wanted to say the words to her. But what good would they do? They would only reassure Liesel that he loved her, but at the same time, he would be killing her father? "Lieutenant! Lieutenant! They're here!"

Liesel was caught by surprise when he started shouting. Her heart broke; so he was over her by now. Even so, she loved him. She wanted to be with him, so badly. Why did the choice have to be so hard? "Come on!" she heard Georg yell, before jumping into the car. Why couldn't Liesel move? Her body was shaking. She only stared at Rolfe in shock, crying. "R-rolfe –" she muttered. The name sounded bitter on her tongue. She looked at the ground and tried to hide her sadness as she wept. Rolfe, stop. Please, I love you. Please, please. Rolfe was still calling 'lieutenant', as loud as he could. She knew that he must be afraid as well. Somehow, she still loved him, even if he was putting her through all this pain. She knew that he must still harness a love for her, as he was so hesitant to shoot. However, that love must perish. They could never be together. Even if it broke her heart… They would never be together, and that was final. She jumped into the car quickly, and they speedily drove off.
