Chapter 22: Not Exactley A Warm Welcome

The light hit us and we finally arrived in front of the warehouse. I knew everyone would welcome me with a warm smile and a hug! Tori is probably here again! While I was gone I bought these concert tickets for this girl singer she likes. Don't even ask I don't even understand it. Her name is Ke dollar sign Ha. I mean who names their daughter Ke$ha? They didn't do that in 1969. I mean they considered Tyler a weird name people would make fun of me! I jumped off Crystal and she collapsed. She never shadowed travel so many people at one time. I look over to see everyone was dizzy, they were walking around funny.

"August the world is spinning." Sweet little Maggie said as she walked around stumbling.

"I know! It will stop." I said letting off a small laugh.

"Tyler! Or… If that is really your name." I hear. I turn around to see Blake looking seriously angry. "You lied to us… This whole time… Didn't you?" He asked with a frown.

"Yes… But I-I had to…" I said.

"You didn't have to do anything." Anita said with a stern look on her face.

"Yes I did! If I told you I was a son of Hades you would have been scared of me… I couldn't let that happen."

"What about your name?" Marcus asked. "You didn't lie about that…" He said his voice kind of trailing off.

"I had to tell them my fake name so that no one would recognize me there… I have a couple of Enemies there…" I said with a sigh. "Please will you guys stay?

Everyone kind of looked around at each other and they all looked at Blake and kind of nodded. It seems like they look at him to be kind of the leader. Maggie was just kind of spinning around with her arms out in a circle.

"Ok… We have decided… We will all stay with you." Blake said.

"Yay! Staying with August!" Maggie said falling on her butt. Everyone just kind of laughed and she said. "Oops."

"So… Tyler… All of us are living in North Carolina right? But… Where?" Blake asked.

Hmm… I haven't thought about that… I guess I really should think these things through.

"You will be living in Jacksonville." I hear. I turn to see my dad stepping out of the shadows.

"Who are you?" Anita asked.

"I am your new leader. The lord of the dead himself, Hades." He said with a grin and fire in his eyes.

"Umm… No. Sorry to burst your bubble dad but I'm there leader. You're just the provider!" I snapped. I mean I don't see him busting his butt out here for 2 months!

"You insufferable little brat! You have no respect for what I give you! If it wasn't for me you would be rotting back with your mother."

"Don't talk about my mother like that!" I snapped.

"Anyway you shall be living in Jacksonville in North Carolina. I have found a nice place for you all and the population is about 70,000… The last time I checked. I know it's a lot but I have detected a lot of demigods and you only have 17. While here in Delaware have about 70." Hades said.

"Ok… Well… Who's going to lead us?" Justin asked.

He's right… I haven't thought about that either! I can't be in two places at once!

"Tyler will decide. But every day you are to report back to him about all the news. About anything and everything."

"Why do I have to pick?" I said quickly.

"Well you were with them for two months… I wasn't. As soon as your ready meet me over there… In the shadows. We will shadow travel again."

"Oh no! Not again!" Maggie said,

Hades rolled his eyes and walked away. How was I going to pick who was going to lead them? I mean there are at least 4 or 5 good leaders among this group. My eyes went down the line and they finally rested on someone that would be a great leader. Blake… Yes Blake everyone looks to him he would be the perfect leader.

"Blake… You will be the leader for them."

Anita looked at her brother with sparkling eyes. "I knew it! You're made for this job!" She said with glee.

"What… I… What? No! Me? I-I can't! I won't!" He said shocked.

"Yes you can. And you will. My word is law. Don't forget that. You're perfect for this Blake!" I exclaimed.

"But! I don't even know the first thing about being a leader!" He said.

"It's easy! My father will explain everything to you guys. You all have to go anyway."

"What? We're not meeting the other Warriors?" Justin asked.

"No… Sorry. Not today at least." I said.

"But August! I don't want to leave you!" Maggie said with tears in her eyes.

I bent down to her level and looked into her sad eyes. "Maggie don't worry! I'll come and visit you guys every month! Would you like that?"

He eyes brightened and she said. "Can't you visit more often?"

"I wish I could Maggie… See Maggie I have other people that are relying on me and I have to live to there expectations."

"Oh." She said probably not understanding a word I said. I looked at her and see she was frowning again.

"Don't worry Maggie. I'll see you soon. I promise." I said hugging her and she hugged me back pretty hard.

"Bye August." She said and I felt a tear drop onto my back.

They all slowly made their ways towards my dad and they all seemed to come together. They seemed to actually be a family. I wished that we were like that. But were not. It's probably because of how cruel and hard I am on all of them. But it's not about being about a compassionate leader. It's about being a strong, ruthless, fearless leader even if you hurt people along the way. I watched as they disappeared into the shadows. They have a long way ahead of them. I turned and looked at the front door of the warehouse. I ran inside to see everyone was just scrambling around like a normal day.

"I'm home!" I screamed but nobody seemed to pay attention. I looked around to see Liz. "Liz! I'm home!" I screamed and ran up to her and hugged her. She really was starting to show pretty bad now.

"Uhh… Yes… I see that." She said pulling away.

I looked at her confused. "Didn't… Didn't you miss me?" I asked.

"Of course! While you were gone." She said turning away and walking away.

"But… I was gone… And now I'm home." I said to myself.

Something… Something isn't right. I plane to find out what. I turned to see her… It was actually her… It was Tori… I looked at her and she was sweeping.

"Tori!" I screamed. She turned and looked at me. I ran up to hug her and I hugged her, picking her up and spinned around. I set her down and looked at her. I looked into her eyes and all I could see was grief.

"You just love to hurt people don't you?" Tori said her voice cracking and tears began to run down her cheeks. She turned around and ran.

I stood there frozen… What just happened? Everyone here seems to think that I'm someone else… It's like they think I never left… I looked around confused and the next thing I know Austin was standing next to me.

"Austin?! What are you doing here!?" I spat.

"Tyler. Welcome home. Well… It's not your home anymore." He said with a grin.

I put my hand on DeathGrip and was about to pull it out.

"Ah, ah, ah you wouldn't want to hurt a harmless Warrior in front of everyone."

"What do you mean? You're not one of us!" I snapped.

"True… But see… Did you really think I wouldn't have some tricks up my sleeves?" I looked at him confused. "Did you honestly think I wouldn't have friends?" He asked.

"I never thought about it." I said.

"Well see… You left and I saw the perfect opportunity."

"Austin… What did you do."

"Well… My friend Robin, who is a daughter of Hecate and the best daughter of Hecate there ever has been, cast a spell that made everyone in the building, at the time, see me as someone else. Oh… And my friend Kyle, who happens to be the best son of Hephaestus there, has ever been, made an exact replica of you. It's a robot. Oh by the way Kyle and Robin are immortal. Robin knows how to cast spells."

It took a second for me to process all of this. "Austin… What the hellhounds did you do!?" I yelled.

"Well… It's what you did. See the exact replica, which Kyle insisted on naming it R16. I don't even know why anyway, you beat Trip senseless, broke up with Tori, and made Thomas second in charge."

"What? I would never-"

"Actually yes you would do all of those things! R16 is programed to feel the feelings you have and think what you would think." He said somewhat gloating.

"You will never get away with this." I snapped. "My friends won't fall for it."

"Oh… But I already have."

"You realize when everyone sees two of me they will know something's up."

"Well who ever said I would let them see you?" Austin whistled and down came a girl with short red hair and green eyes. "Tyler meet Robin, Robin Tyler."

"So… This is the Tyler that you're going to kill? Hmmm… I wouldn't waste my time on him. Robin said looking me down head to toe.

"I know… But at least it will be easy." Austin said.

"Who you calling easy?" I said pulling DeathGrip out.

"Oh by the way were going to need that ok? Thanks." Austin said trying to take DeathGrip away from me.

"No! I'm not giving you DeathGrip." I said backing away.

"Give it to us Tyler! No one has to get hurt… Yet." Austin said with a grin.

"Everyone gather! Lunch time!" I hear.

I turn to see… Well… Myself. This robot looks exactly like me… Head to toe everything. This Kyle guy really is good. But there's only room for one Tyler Slade and that's me. everyone began to take their seats around each of their tables and I jumped up onto a table.

"Everyone! This Tyler is an imposter!" I said pointing to the robot me. " I the real Tyler have just returned home from camp Half-Blood in a mission to recruit more demigods! I return home to find that this Tyler has replaced me! Posing to be me this whole time!"

Everyone stared at me Blankley.

"Oh by the way Robin just cast a spell on you that makes everyone see you… Well… Differently."

"What are you talking about! You look like a dork! The real Tyler is sitting right up there in his chair!" A demigod called… I have no idea what they see me like… But apparently I look like a dork. "Get down you idiot!"

"No… If he wishes to challenge me then challenge it shall be. A fight to the death!" Me said… Or… Austin said its name was R16… So R16 said.

"Wow that really is something that I would say. Ok yes! A fight to the death! I'll show everyone that I am the real Tyler Slade."

We all made our way into the arena and R16 and myself got into the arena. He drew his fake DeathGrip and I drew my real one. We circled around waiting for one another to make an move. I leaped at him and swung but it dodged faster then the speed of light. I looked around and I felt something grabbed my arm. I feel myself get flung into the wall.

"Filthy robot!" I said spitting out blood.

I jumped up and we locked swords. We continued to clash against each other's swords until finally… His sword broke.

"Ha! I knew it!"

The robot looked down at it's broken sword and when it looked back up its eyes were red.

"Oh my robot." I said.

It grabbed me by my neck and threw me causing DeathGrip to go flying. The robot stood over me and was about to kill me when I hear an arrow whiz by and it hits R16 in the shoulder. R16 looks at the arrow and takes it out. It looks up and I turn my head over to see Thomas with a bow and arrow.

"Tyler would of never promoted me to second in command."

I see three ninja stars go into R16 and I look over my shoulder to see Trip. Where did he get ninja stars?

"Tyler would of never been able to beat me senseless." Trip says.

I look back at R16 and it looked down at me with its red eyes and all of a sudden a sword is through it. R16 slowly looked down at the sword and the sword was taken out and R16 looked at me and was about to reach me when its eyes stopped glowing red. R16 fell to the ground leaving Tori in it's place.

"And Tyler would of never broken up with me!"

Hey! So not 3000 words but I am tierd and I updated! I just got back from camping so I deserve to be cut so slack with a 2300 word chapter!
