"Hey, Annabeth." Percy said. He walked up to where I was sitting in the mess hall. He sat down beside me and kissed me on the cheek.
"You're very distracting, you know." I said. I was working on an architectural sketch.
"Sorry." He didn't sound sorry. "Do you like all those stupid love songs? Because Drew thinks I should sing you one."
"No, I hate love songs. Especially the mushy ones."
"I know right!"
"If you sing me one," I said. "I will severely hurt you."
Percy laughed. "Okay, see you at the campfire then." He ran off.
"See you later!" I called after him.
Percy's POV:
"Help!" I called to Piper.
"What?" she called in annoyance. She had been shooting a bow and arrow.
"I need a song to sing to Annabeth at the campfire! Not a mushy one. I need to make it clear that it's not a love song. Any ideas?"
"I got it." Piper said, smiling smugly, and she looked really devious. I started to regret asking her.
Annabeth's POV:
I sprinted to the campfire. Percy was standing in the middle of the theater, talking to Piper. There was a mic set up, with drums and a guitar. Two Apollo kids sat there. Something was going on that I hadn't been told about.
Chiron galloped up. "We have a special performance tonight!" He backed off. Percy stood at the mic, the Apollo kids behind him playing guitar. Lou Ellen from Hecate sat at drums. She was an epic drum player.
"Hey," he said nervously. "Once I start this, you'll know who this goes to." A few kids smiled knowingly.
You're always on my mind
I think about you all the time
I sat there, fuming. I had told Percy not to sing me a stupid love song!
Um, no
I smiled. Percy knew just what I wanted.
Lets not talk about it
Drama: We can live without it
Got your way with the world
There's a clock we'll ignore
Find a way around it
Hey girl, I can tell there's something
Even when you say it's nothing
When you're playing with your hair
Like you just don't care
Easy to tell you're bluffing
Now please don't take this the wrong way
I love the things you do
It's how you do the things you love
But it's not a love song, not a love song
I love the way you get me
But correct me if I'm wrong
This is not a love song, not a love song
I love the things you do
It's how you do the things you love
The way you sing it put me through it
I guess I always knew it
I love the way you get me
But correct me if I'm wrong
This is not a love song, not a love song
Percy ended the song. He knew that I had enjoyed it, as he smiled at me. I ran up to him and kissed him full on the lips. Campers cheered and whistled.
Dammit, Percy could sing.
Song is 'Not a Love Song', off of 'Austin and Ally.' Look it up!
