I lied, there's another little chapter to tie everything off.

Later that morning Ruth woke up again to Harry tracing patterns on her ribcage. "We are horrible people," he said quietly when it was clear she was awake. She looked curiously at him so he elaborated. "Jo died yesterday, and what have we done?"

"Had great sex," Ruth said bluntly. Harry refrained from laughing with difficulty. "I think she would have found it rather funny," Ruth said more seriously. "The fact that her death gave our relationship a jump start… I think she would have seen the ironic and amusing side."

"Hmm, maybe," Harry agreed reluctantly.

"Trust me," she said quietly.

"I do. You know I do." Ruth smiled for a second before their lips joined in a long kiss. "Stay," he whispered.

"What?" she asked, completely thrown.

"I love having you here with me," he said. "Sleeping in my arms, being with me. Stay."

"No," she said firmly. He looked hurt by this so she elaborated. "I can't. I've only been back in the country a matter of weeks. I need to be settled by myself. I can't jump into a serious relationship straight away. I won't rush anything and neither should you. I'm not saying never, I'm saying not now. Do you understand at all where I'm coming from?"

"Yes," he said lowly. "Do you regret… earlier this morning?"

"No," she said instantly. A broad smile filled her face. "I couldn't regret it even if I tried. Not ever." She moved so her head rested on his chest and he stroked her hair softly. "When are we going to have to go to work?"

"Er, an hour ago," Harry said after glancing at the clock. Ruth laughed before kissing his skin.

"Whatever job I've had over the last ten years, I have never once been late. One night with you and my punctuality's been thrown out the window."

"Believe me your boss won't mind."

She laughed again. "Is it wrong to be this happy?"

"Happiness doesn't last long in our line of work," Harry said quietly. "We need to grab it while we can. You never know when it'll be over."

"And on that rather depressing note I think its about time we got moving." Ruth shifted to try and get up but Harry's arms wrapped tight around her ribcage, making sure she couldn't move, his body looming over her. "Let me get up," she whispered as he looked into her eyes.

"No," he said leaning in further to her lips. "I think I have you right where I want you." She smiled as his lips pressed against her own and thought life would be perfect if they could stay like this forever.

That really is the end now! Hope you liked it.
