'The End of an Era' is my first English Pokémon story, so in order to keep up with what you expect of me, this chapter and a few others are now rewritten. I hope you'll all like it. It was quite a challenge and I can't believe I have more than 40 chapters already.
Nothing much to say other than:
+ Pokémon doesn't belong to me.
+ please, read and really review
+ I don't mind constructive criticism, what I do mind is bullying and trolling
+ AND ENJOY!
A tranquil silence lay over the Tree of Beginning. Young Pokémon played in the grass and the shallow pools of water, their parents resting nearby, watching them with fond eyes. It was peaceful. But that peacefulness , in Kanto and everywhere else, would not last much longer.
Two small shadows shot over the groups of Pokémon.
They looked up and their eyes widened fearfully at what they saw. Because high above them soared two small but powerful Pokémon towards the centre of the tree.
As fast as her wings and powers could carry you a fairy-like green Pokémon flew past the many pillars, trees, rocks, cliffs and waterfalls that made up the Tree of Beginning. She was gasping hard and a multitude of cuts and bruises covered her small body, but she flew on determinately. Every few seconds she shot a glance backwards, checking up on the small blue Pokémon that was following her.
Manaphy is far too young for this, thought the green Pokémon sorrowfully and shook her head. If I hadn't come in time to get her out of the Temple of Sea she would have… A shudder made its way through her body at that thought and fast she banished those ideas from her minds. She didn't even want to think about what would've happened if He had gotten his paws on the young Water-Type legendary.
"Celebi?"
At the shaky question, Celebi's attention shot back to Manaphy. "Yes?", asked Celebi back and bit back the her wince at the numerous injuries that littered Manaphy's body.
"Will…will she even be here…I mean, when He got free?"
Celebi gave a strong nod in answer to that, then added: "She'll be here. She wouldn't leave this place for anything as long as she isn't needed to save the world anywhere else, I know her!" Manaphy seemed satisfied with that answer, since she remained silent. Both flew in that tense silence for a while longer and then finally they were there.
They'd reached the centre of the tree. "Mew", called Celebi immediately. "Mew, come out please! We need you!" But everything remained silent, no sign of the usual playful legendary. That was when it happened.
Dark, horrible laughter echoed through the chamber and a figure in black cloak suddenly appeared in front of the two. Both jerked back immediately.
"Your dear friend won't answer you", sneered the figure with a deep chuckle.
"You!" It was all Celebi managed to do.
How had he done it?
How had he beat them here?
The figure laughed again and shot a quick Shadow-Ball at them. Both managed to dodge and Celebi saw the figure preparing another attack, when a familiar and much welcome voice rang out. "Gyro-Ball!" A white glowing sphere hit the figure and then its path to Celebi and Manaphy was blocked by a pinkish floating feline Pokémon.
"Mew", breathed Celebi in relief. Despite the injuries that littered her body, Mew looked alright and still strong.
"Celebi, why have you come here?", asked Mew back in panic, keeping her blue eyes locked on the figure. "You should've known that he would attack me as one of the first."
Not the first though, thought Celebi with another glance at Manaphy, before she argued: "We need your help Mew! We-", Celebi broke off when they had to dodge a barrage of Shadow-Balls. "We need him and you know where he is at every moment!"
"GAH!"
Both legendary Pokémon froze in their position when the scream echoed through the chamber. The two legendary Pokémon spun to the source and Celebi cried out in shock. While her and Mew had been distracted, the figure had managed to land a hit on Manaphy. Now the young Water-Type was lying on the ground, whimpering in pain. "Manaphy!"
After Mew's shout both females shot forward, right at the child. Deciding to use that distraction, the figure powered up his attack and a Hyper Beam came at Manaphy as well. "MEW!", cried Celebi while letting out her powers, allowing them to pulse around her. Mew reacted immediately, her Psychic Powers reaching out to Celebi and Manaphy. The two reached Manaphy just a second ahead of the Hyper Beam, before all went white.
