I am attempting a 100 theme challenge. These will be various sizes and various pairings. As I see fit. And yes this is something to A) Help me develop my writing skills and B) stall from actually putting up more chapters of stories I'm writing and working on a novel I am writing.

Haruhi sat on the couch cuddling against Kyouya's side. Her hand laid on her swollen belly and rubbed it fondly. She was nine months pregnant and due next week. Of course that meant Kyouya was against her moving too much. She didn't mind, though, he was just looking after her and the baby. Anything that made the birth any more complicated meant that she was that much closer to having a disastrous time with the birth. They were watching a movie, not that she was paying any attention to it. She was too busy thinking. She had been on materinity leave from her job for the last six months, Kyouya had pressured her into taking maternaity leave earlier than usual. She said she could stil go, but he countered saying it was too much stress.

She glanced up at her husband as he stared at the television as he watched the movie. She could tell he wasn't interested, probably thinking of more business strategies instead of the movie. Her mouth curved into a smile as she watched him for a while longer before readjusting her head and closing her eyes. She must've fallen asleep because there was a big bang from the television, and she snapped straight up. Kyouya jumped up at the same time and quickly checked on his wife. His hand touched her belly and he looked at in with worry deep in his dark eyes.

A flush of something wet hit her legs and her eyes went wide. She knew what that meant, and she looked up at Kyouya. Before the words, "It's time," came from her lips he was calling the hospital and ordering the best doctor and delivary room be avalible by the time they got there. He then yelled out the door to get the car ready and helped Haruhi off the couch. She held her stomach as he hurried her to the door. She didn't looked worried as he carefully helped her down the stairs and into the car. Though she did take his cellphone and called her father and texted her friends. Kyouya was too busy growling instructions and making sure Haruhi was alright.

They were at the hospital and in the Delivary room within minutes. Haruhi was comfortably positioned on the bed and hadn't felt the contractions yet. Kyouya was still busy ordering people around when Ryouji arrived. He was allowed in and went straight to his daughter. He stroked her hair and told her it was going to be okay. She smiled up at him and nodded. "I know, you are about to be a granddaddy," she replied simply to his worrying words. Those words broke him down and he started to bawl about how he was too young to be a grandfather and how he was so happy for Haruhi and Kyouya.

Soon Haruhi was annoyed with Kyouya's nervousness and anxiety, annoyed enough to tell him to sit down and shut up. He was surprised enough to listen to his wife and slump into a chair and hold her hand. Shortly after she was told that the others had arrived she started to feel the contractions. Ryouji was allowed to stay through the six hours it took for the delivary.

Haruhi was handed her new born baby girl. She had fine dark hair, Haruhi's brown eyes but Kyouya's features. The baby squabbled loudly for a few seconds, and then felt the warmth of Haruhi and the familiar heart beat and settled down. Kyouya reached down and touched the child's head fondly. "What shall we name her?"

"Kotoko," Haruhi whispered looking up at Kyouya with a soft smile.

"Ootori Kotoko, welcome to our family, little one," Kyouya whispered and smiled down at the small child. Haruhi closed her eyes for a second and smiled, tired and sore, but happy.
